OPERATION
DANGER
Risk of injury! The device may only be put into operation if there are no defects. If a part is
defective it must be replaced before the device is used again.
WARNING
Risk of injury! Before starting work, check the area & remove all objects which may be kicked
up by the unit.
TURNING ON AND OFF
To prevent the tool accidental starting, this hedge trimmer is designed with a two hand
safety switch.
To turn the hedge trimmer on. both the rear handle on/off trigger (1) and front handle safety
switch (2) are required to be activated to start the hedge trimmer.
To turn the hedge trimmer off, release either the rear handle on/off trigger (1) or front handle
safety switch (2).
CORRECT OPERATING POSITION
Hold the unit with the left hand on the front handle, and the right hand on the rear handle.
See image below:

BLADE BRAKE
•The hedge trimmer is fitted with an electric brake which very quickly brings the blades to
a stop as soon as either the rear handle on/off trigger (1) or front handle on/off safety
switch (2) are released.
•This safety feature reduces the chance of injury to the operator if a hand slips off the front
or rear handle and control is lost temporarily.
•When the unit is switched off and the motor brake operates there may be some sparking
(or flashing) in the area of the upper motor ventilation slots. This is perfectly normal and
does not indicate a fault.
WORKING POSITION ADJUSTMENT
•Maintain proper footing and balance and do not overreach.
•Please wear safety goggles, nonslip footwear and rubber gloves when trimming. Hold the
tool firmly in both hands and turn the tool on by squeezing both switches.
•Always hold the trimmer with one hand on the front handle (1) and the other on the rear
handle (2).
•Never hold the tool by the safety guard (3).
TRIMMING NEW GROWTH
•The most effective way to trim new growth is to use a wide sweeping motion, feeding the
blade teeth through the twigs.
•A slight downward tilt of the blade, in the direction of motion gives the best cut. Do not
use the trimmer for cutting stems greater than 15mm in diameter. Use the trimmer only for
cutting normal shrubbery found around houses and buildings.
LEVELING HEDGES
•Stretch a piece of string along the length of the hedge as a guide when leveling hedges.
SIDE-TRIMMING HEDGES
•Begin at the bottom and cut in an upward sweeping action so that the debris falls away
from the trimmer and does not build up around the dual action cutting blades (4).
SHAPING
•A hedge should be trimmed to a trapezoidal form, that is, it should widen toward the
bottom at both sides. This improves the penetration of light to the lower extremities. A
general guideline is approximately a 10cm slant for each 1metre of hedge height.
CUTTING SEQUENCE
•First cut both sides, starting at the bottom and work to the top to prevent cuttings from
falling into the area where you are still working.
TRIMMING THE TOP
•Where the branches have grown extremely long, cut back the hedge in several stages.
The shorter the cuttings the better suited they are for composting.
GENERAL INFORMATION
•When older hedges are to be cut back a substantial amount, use pruning shears or some
other device to trim thicker branches (greater than 15mm diameter) to the desired
length before starting work with the hedge trimmer.
•To shape precisely, run a taught line between the extreme edges of the hedge and then
trim along the length of the line.
•Ensure the dual action cutting blades (4) do not come into contact with any object
made of hard material that could damage the blades, such as fencing wire or metallic
plant supports.
•When the task is complete, turn off the tool, slip on the blade cover (5).

TRIMMING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Walk, never run with the machine, be very careful when trimming uneven/rough ground.
2. Be careful when changing the direction of the trimmer on a slope.
3. Do not trim excessively steep slopes.
4. Best results will be achieved if the foliage is dry. Wet foliage will clog the blades.
5. Check that all nuts, bolts and screws are well tightened.
6. Work only when there is enough light.
7. Turn off the motor and remove the electrical plug from the power source, if you must
leave the hedge trimmer unattended.
8. Never place your hands and feet between the blades while the motor is running.
9. Never change in any way the rated speed of the motor.
10. Never lift or carry the hedge trimmer above working height, while the motor is running.
11. Stop the motor and remove the electrical cable from the power source in these cases:
-Before any operation under the guard.
-Before any maintenance, repairing or checking operations.
-Before carrying, lifting or removing the line trimmer.
-If you leave the line trimmer unattended or changing the cutting height.
-After hitting a foreign object, stop the hedge trimmer and check thoroughly the
machine in order to see if it is damaged. Take the machine to a local Approved
Service Dealer for inspection if necessary. Repairs of this nature are not covered
under the Manufacturer’s warranty.
-If the hedge trimmer vibrates in an abnormal way, find the reasons why, and take
your hedge trimmer to a local Approved Service Dealer.
CAUTION
Allowing anyone to operate this machine without proper instruction may result in injury.
Wear sturdy, full coverage footwear. Operating this machine with bare feet, or with open toe
shoes or sandals increases your risk of injury.
Do not use the machine at night or in poor light.
Be sure to transport the machine from one place to another with the motor off.
To prevent damage, check the machine for any signs of damage or other faults when
operated.

MAINTENANCE & STORAGE
WARNING
Improper maintenance & storage of the machine may void your warranty.
Keep the machine clean for better and safer performance.
Turn off the motor and remove the electrical plug from the power source before performing
any maintenance.
MAINTENANCE
Use only original equipment replacement parts. Other parts may not perform as well, may
damage the unit and may result in injury. In addition, use of other parts may invalidate your
warranty.
•Before each use, check all nuts & bolts to be sure they are sufficiently tightened.
•We recommend only manufacturer original parts are used when maintaining this
machine. Failure to do so could invalidate your manufacturer’s warranty.
•The motor must be switched off and the electrical plug removed from the power source,
before the machine is unassembled, cleaned, serviced or maintained.
CLEANING
CAUTION
Do not use a water hose or pressure washer to clean the machine. Water can damage the
motor.
•Keep your machine clean. Thoroughly clean the machine at the end of each use.
•Clean the motor air vents with a cloth or brush. Motor air vents should be free from debris
to allow air circulation around the motor during use.
•Clean the blade rail.
STORING THE LINE TRIMMER
•Always unplug the machine from the mains for storage.
•For trouble free service, make sure the machine is clean and dry before storing.
•Please ensure the machine is stored away from direct sunlight.
•Store indoors or in a safe, locked protected area during severe weather and winter
months.
•If storing for an extended period, inspect, clean and repair the machine if necessary.
Store in a clean, dry, dust free area.
•Ensure the machine is stored in a position, where any persons cannot step on to attempt
to reach items up high, due to risk of movement.
•The baldes should be treated with light machine oil or spray lubricant after each use. The
lubrication will also help prevent corrosion of the blade when not in use. When a job lasts
for a longer period of time it is recommended that the blade rail also be treated with
spray lubricant at regular intervals during operation.
TRANSPORT
•Always unplug the machine from the mains for storage.
•Use the original packaging to ship whenever possible.
