MOUNTING BRACKET INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
•This is a comprehensive step-by-step instrucon guide on how to install the QLK-150 Permobil M3 Corpus (Feb 2017– Wheelchair manufacture date).
Please note, some images may not be the same colour as the supplied equipment.
• Make sure to read, understand and follow these instrucons.
• To address any quesons, contact the nearest Q’Straint® oce.
• All deviaons and alteraons from these instrucons MUST MUST be reported to both your supervisor and Q’Straint®
• For installaon of the QLK Docking system, please refer to the separate Installaon Instrucons and the Use and Care Manual.
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS AND WARNINGS
•All equipment and components MUSTMUST be installed and serviced by an
experienced and trained technician.
•The QLK-150 Wheelchair Docking System complies with all applicable
requirements of ADA, FMVSS, CMVSS, SAE J2249, CSA Z604, AS2942, ISO
10542-1 and ANSI/RESNA WC-4 SECTION 18.
•This System is a complete integrated system, do not alter or modify it in any
way and do not interchange or substute any components. Any deviaon
from these recommendaons is the responsibility of the installer.
•The QLK-150 Docking System, bracket and its components MUSTMUST be
regularly inspected, cleaned, and maintained.
•Do NOTNOT aempt to repair, adjust, or modify any component(s) of the QLK-
150 system or bracket without consulng a Q’Straint® representave.

Q’Straint®.

wheelchair interface bracket unless otherwise stated.
•Q’Straint wheelchair brackets and QLK docking staon have been designed
and tested as a system, for use with specic wheelchairs. Q’Straint supply all
the components/hardware required to install the system so the conguraon
is the same as that tested and set out in the individual installaon instrucons.
Occasionally, wheelchairs may have addional components installed which
are not detailed in our installaon instrucons and which may need to be
temporarily removed in order to gain access to xing holes or support frames
to enable the aachment of the wheelchair bracket. It is the responsibility of
the installer to ensure that all such wheelchair component(s) are put back in
their original locaon using the original xings or xing of the same size and
grade. Each wheelchair should be test driven aer tment of the bracket, to
ensure it is funconing correctly.

Step 1 - Raise Seang System.
Raise the seang system to allow access to the top of the chassis.
Step 2 - Remove Thumb Screws.
Unscrew and retain the 2 x thumbscrews on the top of the wheelchair
chassis, as shown.
Step 3 - Remove top panel.
Remove the top panel by sliding it backwards to fully remove it.
Step 4 - Remove rear panel.
Now remove the rear panel - this is retained by a small Velcro strip behind
the panel.

Step 5 - Remove Screws.
Using a 6mm Allen key remove the 4 x screws as shown.
Step 6 - Disconnect Cables.
Disconnect the three cables as shown.

Step 7 - Remove Baery Tray
Carefully pull the baery tray using the webbing handles- check for any other
wires which could prevent the baery tray being released- and disconnect if
necessary, making a note of how to reconnect.
Step 8 - M12 Bolts.
Insert the 2 x M12 CSK bolts.

Step 9 - Fix Bracket.
Oer up the bracket (PN QS00728) and connect with the 2 x M12 CSK
bolts posioned in the previous step. Secure with 2 x M12 Nyloc nuts and 2
x M12 washers. Hand-ghten inially to aach the components, then use a
19mm spanner and an 8mm Allen Key to nish. Do not ghten at this stage.
Step 10 - Insert Side Arm.
Now insert the Side Arm Assy LH (PN QS00740) as shown. This needs to be
inserted from inside the baery compartment.
Step 11 - Insert M8 Cap Head.
Insert the M8x25 Cap Head and M8 washer as shown – secure on the other
side with the M8 Nyloc nut using a 6mm Allen Key and a 13mm socket – do
not ghten -allow components to sll be free.

Step 12 - Repeat Steps.
Repeat steps 10 and 11 for the right-hand side.
Step 13 - Tighten M12 xings.
Fully ghten the 2 x M12 xings using a 19mm spanner and 8mm Allen Key.
Step 14 - Replace Baery Tray.
Slide the baery tray back into its home posion.
Step 15 - Reconnect leads.
Reconnect all leads and cables which were disconnected in steps 6 and 7.
Step 16- Replace bolts.
Replace the 4 x bolts (removed in step 5) and ghten using a 6mm Allen key.
Step 17- Place chair on it's side.
Carefully place the wheelchair on its le-hand side.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Step 18- Tighten M8 bolts.
Ensuring the Side Arm Assy RH is seated correctly, fully ghten the
M8 bolt using a 6mm Allen key and 13mm socket, as shown.
Step 19 - Repeat Last Step.
Turn the chair on the other side and repeat step 18 for the other
side.
Step 20 - Place chair upright.
Carefully turn the chair back upright.
Step 21 - Insert Rear Panel.
Insert the rear panel and slide on the top cover (removed in steps 3
and 4). Secure with the 2 x thumbscrews removed in Step 2.
Step 22 - Lower Seang System.
Lower the seang system back to its original posion.
Step 23 - QLK Alignment.
Alignment between the wheelchair bracket and the QLK must be
checked and adjusted before bolng the QLK to the vehicle oor.
The chair must be ballasted to the intended occupant weight to
ensure the chair is at the correct height.
On a at surface, measure the ground clearance between the oor
and the lowest point of the bracket.

Apply the following calculaon to determine the QLK height.

Set the QLK height as close as possible to the opmal height, making sure the height is sll within the upper and lower height limits.
Once the QLK height is determined, bolt the QLK to the vehicle using the same spacing arrangement to ensure correct bracket alignment.
Suggested conguraon of using a 2.5” QLK Flange.
