PRE-INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. A four wheel alignment should be performed by a qualified alignment shop after any changes to the suspension
system.
2. The lower shocks mounting holes in the QA1 52363 Lower Control Arms are designed to be used with QA1
shocks. If the factory shocks are going to be reused the shock mounting holes in the control arms must be drilled
out to 14 mm (9/16”).
DISASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Raise the vehicle and support it with jack stands on a stable surface.
2. Remove the rear wheels from the vehicle.
3. With the rear suspension at full droop, remove the sway bar end links and lower shock bolts from the control
arms.
4. Remove the lower control arm outer pivot bolt from the knuckle, noting the direction it is installed.

5. Place an alignment mark on the inner control arm pivot
eccentric washer and differential cradle. Remove the
inner pivot bolt, noting the direction it is installed.
Remove the lower control arm from the car. See Figure 1
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Install the QA1 lower control arm and inner pivot bolt.
Leave the bolts loose until the vehicle weight is on the
wheels.
2. Install the lower shock mounting bolt and outer pivot
bolt.
3. Re-connect the sway bar end link and torque to 36 lb.-
ft.
4. Reinstall the rear wheels.
5. With the car sitting on the ground or on wheel stands, line up the alignment marks on the inner control arm
pivot eccentric washers and tighten the inner and outer control arm bolts to the factory specifications.
TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Note: GM recommends angle torqueing some fasteners also known as torque to yield. Please refer to a GM Service
Manual for further explanation.
Lower Control Arm to Knuckle bolt
First pass 30 lb.-ft.
Second pass angle torque to 120°
Lower Control Arm Inner Pivot Bolt 85 lb.-ft.
Lower Shock Bolt
First pass 59 lb.-ft.
Second Pass angle torque to 120°
Note: A four wheel alignment should be performed by a qualified alignment shop after any changes to the
suspension system.
