Bluetooth®speaker II, and what are its
key benefits?
The SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II is a one-piece, ultra-compact,
battery-powered Bluetooth speaker. It delivers full, deep sound that's
unexpected from a mobile speaker that fits in the palm of your hand. Its
ability to connect wirelessly to Bluetooth enabled audio devices,
combined with its size, allows you to enjoy your music, videos or games
almost anywhere. It’s engineered with a solid aluminum chassis that
contributes to the sound while providing the durability to withstand the
rigors of everyday use. The included charging cradle provides a home
base to keep it charged so it’s ready and able to go just about anywhere
with you. The SoundLink®Mini II has a built-in speakerphone, so you can
enjoy the same clear sound for out-loud calls. And voice prompts talk you
through Bluetooth pairing, so wirelessly connecting to your music is easier

What technologies are used in the
SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II?
The SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II uses many proprietary Bose®
acoustic, mechanical and electrical technologies. Most prominent are
two compact transducers specifically designed with unusually high cone
displacement for exceptional sound output relative to their size. In
addition, dual opposing passive radiators allow the SoundLink®Mini
Bluetooth®speaker II to deliver high-quality low-note performance from a
small enclosure. With the radiators placed symmetrically opposite each
other, the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II reduces unwanted and
wasteful vibration, turning that energy instead into acoustic output. The
unique, patented* shape of the radiator surrounds also produce
performance beyond most competitive products. Together, these
technologies allow the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II to produce
surprisingly full and deep sound from a speaker that fits in the palm of your
hand. The speaker also uses voice prompts that walk the user through
Bluetooth pairing, so connection management of Bluetooth enabled
devices is easier than ever.

Are the magnets in the SoundLink®
Mini Bluetooth®speaker II harmful to
credit cards, hard drives or other
magnetic media?
The transducers in the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II generate
magnetic fields that extend beyond the body of the product. You may
have noticed that small metal objects (for example, paper clips) can be
attracted by the SoundLink®Mini speaker II. Even at the product’s surface,
these magnetic fields are not strong enough to affect credit cards or hard
drives. However, they may affect the weaker magnetic stripes often found
on hotel key cards, parking garage tickets, mass transit tickets, etc. Please
be careful to keep such items separate from the
SoundLink®Mini speaker II.
Does the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®
speaker II feature a speakerphone?
Yes. The SoundLink®Mini II can be used both for out-loud listening and
hands-free communication.
What are the differences between
the SoundLink®Color Bluetooth®
speaker, the SoundLink®Mini
Bluetooth®speaker II and the
SoundLink®Bluetooth®speaker III?
The SoundLink®Bluetooth®speaker III is our best-performing Bluetooth
speaker. Because it delivers sound that’s full and clear at any level, it’s
well-suited for sharing music with others. The SoundLink®Mini II is our
smallest Bluetooth speaker, with an elegant design and full-range sound
from a speaker that fits in the palm of your hand. It also features
speakerphone. The SoundLink®Color is our most affordable Bluetooth
speaker. Simple to connect and easy to use, it also features a playful
design in a selection of colors.
What are the audio connection
options for the SoundLink®Mini
Bluetooth®speaker II?
Audio can be connected through industry-standard Bluetooth A2DP and
3.5mm stereo audio cable.

speaker II support Wi-Fi®or WiDi?
No.The SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II’s wireless connection is
Bluetooth only.
What is the range of the SoundLink®
Mini Bluetooth®speaker II’s Bluetooth
performance?
The SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II’s Bluetooth link is capable of
stable operation at up to 30 feet (10 meters). Performance can be
affected by obstacles such as walls or metal, interference from Wi-Fi®or
other wireless devices, and device manufacturers’ Bluetooth
implementations.
Can the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®
speaker II be used to provide audio
for video, such as for watching a
movie on a tablet?
Yes. However, the quality of the experience – specifically, synchronization
between audio and video – can be influenced by the implementation of
Bluetooth on the device, and the best performance will occur when
wireless interference is minimized by keeping the SoundLink®Mini
Bluetooth®speaker II and the device in close proximity (less than 6 feet/2
meters) with no objects between them. Use of Wi-Fi network in the area
may also affect performance.
What purpose do the voice prompts
on the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®
speaker II serve?
The voice prompts serve two key purposes. First, they provide guidance
during the Bluetooth pairing and connection process so the customer
understands how it works. Second, they identify the connected source
devices by name, simplifying usage with more than one source device.
In what languages are the voice
prompts available?
The voice prompts on the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II are
available in multiple languages, with additional languages under
development. Check the Bose website for the latest list of languages. New
languages can be added to your SoundLink®Mini II via software updates.
Is it possible to disable voice prompts
on the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®
speaker II?
Yes. Voice prompts can be disabled by simultaneously pressing the “+”
(volume up) and “-“ (volume down) buttons. We recommend leaving
voice prompts enabled because of the additional functionality they
provide.

How many devices can pair with the
SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II
at once? What happens if I have
several Bluetooth enabled devices in
my house?
The SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II keeps track of the last eight
devices to have paired and connected with it, dropping the least recently
used when a new one is paired.
When in Bluetooth mode, the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II
searches for and connects to the two most recently connected active
Bluetooth enabled devices. It will only receive audio from one device at a
time. When the first device stops playing, the other can start.
If you wish to connect to a previously paired device other than the one(s)
already connected, press the Bluetooth button. Press once to identify the
currently connected devices; press again (within three seconds) to search
through other recently connected devices on the pairing list. Continue
pressing the Bluetooth button until you hear the device you want. If you
wish to connect to a new device, press the Bluetooth button until you hear
“Ready to Pair” and the Bluetooth indicator light turns blue.
Note that if voice prompts have been disabled, the Bluetooth button will
behave differently; one press will make the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®
speaker II ready to pair.
What happens when my phone is
streaming music to the SoundLink®
Mini Bluetooth®speaker II and a call
comes in?
When a call comes in, the audio on the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®
speaker II will pause, and the call will ring through the speaker. If you wish
to answer the call through the SoundLink Mini II, simply press the multi-
function button to answer the call. You can now talk into the speaker itself
to conduct your phone call. Once you end your call, music playback will
resume. Some details of this experience will vary depending on the
implementation by the phone manufacturer.
What is the purpose of the multi-
function button?
When in audio playback mode, the multi-function button allows for play
(press), pause (press), track forward (double press) and track backwards
(triple press). Pressing and holding the multi-function button will activate
voice dialing (Siri).
When there is an incoming call, pressing the multi-function button will
answer the call and pressing and holding it will reject the call. During an
active call, pressing the multi-function button will end the call.
What is the purpose of the micro-B
USB port on the side of the SoundLink®
Mini Bluetooth®speaker II?
The SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II uses a micro-B USB cable for
charging and for possible future software updates that may be necessary.
It does not receive audio through this interface.
What is the battery performance of
the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®
speaker II?
Battery performance varies with the content played and loudness at
which it is played. In typical usage, the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker
battery lasts up to 10 hours.

What charging options are available
for the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®
speaker II?
The SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II comes with a small wall charger
that can be plugged into the side of the speaker or the back of the
included charging cradle.
Because the SoundLink®Mini II employs a standard micro-B USB charging
interface, it can receive power from nearly any USB power source. For best
results, use a power source that can supply at least one amp of current,
and use the included USB cable.
Please note that some power sources may charge the SoundLink®Mini II
much more slowly than the included wall charger, and may not be able
to keep up with the power consumed while the speaker is operating.
How long does it take to charge the
SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker
II’s battery?
While not playing music, much of the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II
battery’s charge can be recovered in three hours when using the
included charger. Charging from alternate USB power sources or when
playing music may take longer.
Is the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®
speaker II compatible with the Bose®
SoundDock®and SoundLink®car
charger or the SoundLink®Mini car
charger?
No. However, the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II uses a standard
micro-B USB interface for charging, so it can receive power from nearly
any USB power source. For best results, use a power source that can
supply at least one amp of current, and use the included USB cable.
Can I charge the SoundLink®Mini II
with my previous SoundLink®Mini
charging cradle?
No. The SoundLink®Mini II uses the micro-B USB charging standard, and this
means it is not compatible with the original charging cradle. However, the
SoundLink®Mini II comes with its own charging cradle. We also have a
premium charging cradle available as a sold-separately accessory that
works with both versions.
Is the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®
speaker II’s battery user-replaceable?
No. The battery in the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II is designed to
provide many years of service without noticeable degradation in
performance.
How much does the SoundLink®Mini
Bluetooth®speaker II weigh?
The SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II weighs 1.5 pounds/0.67
kilograms. For reference, this is close to the weight of most tablet
computers, slightly heavier than the SoundLink®Color and about half the
weight of the SoundLink®Bluetooth®speaker III.

The SoundLink®Mini II soft cover and travel bag are accessories that are
custom-designed for use with the SoundLink®Mini Bluetooth®speaker II.
We also offer a premium charging cradle that is compatible with both the
SoundLink®Mini and the SoundLink®Mini II, and a battery case for the
SoundLink®Mini II.
