1: Safety precautions
Do not expose this product to rain or moisture to preserve
the life of your product.
Do not disassemble this unit. To prevent any electric
shock, do not remove the cover.
The device should be placed such that its location or
position does not interfere with its proper ventilation. For
example, the unit should not be placed on a bed, sofa,
rug or any other similar surfaces that may block the
ventilation openings.
The device should be situated away from sources of high
heat such as radiators or stoves.
We strongly suggest using a clean, dry, nonalcohol cotton
swab to periodically clean the glass surface to produce a
clear image.
The USB cord for the device should be unplugged from
the computer when the unit is unused for a long period of
time.
Do not overload the USB connections on your computer.
If you have too many devices connected to your
computer such as a wireless mouse, media player,
mobile phone or other USB powered devices, there may
not be enough power for the film scanner to operate
properly.
The user should not attempt to service the device unless
described in the operating manual. All other servicing
should be referred to qualied person.
The design of lm holder follows ISO standard. In some
cases the holes on the lm will not match the alignment
of the holder. This is caused by using a non-standardized
lm. In such cases, the captured

Hold up the slide toward the light. Face the
trademark side of the slide away from you.
Look through the slide and it should appear
normal (not a mirror image).
Now turn the slide so the image is upside
down while looking at the same side.
Open the slide holder at the marked spot
at the top. With the slide holder laid open
place the slide into the recessed area in the
holder. The slide should t perfectly.
Note: Handle slides with care. Any dust
scratches or fingerprints will show up
on your saved images. If possible use
cotton gloves when handling slides. It is
recommended to use compressed air to
remove any dust on the slides. This is not
included with the film scanner but it can
be purchased from an ofce or electronics
supply retailer.
Close the slide holder and press the edges
so that it locks in place.
Hold it in the position as shown in the
picture. Insert the Slide Holder into the slot
on the left or right side of the lm & photo
scanner as shown.
Negative film properties: The light, shade
and color of the Negative is exactly inverted
from the original image.
Place the film onto the holder with the
glossy side facing up and the image should
be upright. Use the tabs in the holder to
align the negative lm.
Note: Handle negatives with care. Any
dust, scratches or fingerprints will show
up on your saved images. If possible use
cotton gloves when handling negatives. It
is recommended to use compressed air
to remove any dust on the negatives. This
is not included with the film scanner but it
can be purchased from an ofce supply or
electronics supply retailer.
Close the negative holder and press the
edges so that it locks in place
Hold it in the position as shown in the lm &
photo scanner.
Insert the negative holder into the slot on
the left or right side of the film & photo
scanner as shown.

6: Loading photos and name cards 7: General operations
1. Align the corresponding photo tray onto the marked spot.
2. Place the photo at the arrow head and make sure the back of photo
faces up.
Note:
• Please use the provided OCR CD to organize the name cards.
• Handle photo with care. Any dust scratches or ngerprints will show
up on your saved images.
• Scanned name cards will capture a standard dimension of 91x55mm.
The scanned image will have a slight border around the name card.
• Use the cleaning cloth to wipe down the scanning surface frequently,
to prevent dust from appearing on the captured images.
Note: Please cover the lid when you are capturing, otherwise the picture
you captured are not so good if you keep the cover opening.
♦ Quick Start
• Please insert the memory card into the device, and do not take out
the memory card when the device is operating, otherwise the device
will be powered off automatically.
• To scan lm, push the switch at the middle of the device to the left
side. To scan photos, push the switch to the right side.
• Insert Slide/Negative into the Slide/Negative Holder and insert into
the left or right slot of the product or align photographs with the
respective photo holders (5 x7 (5R), 4 x6 (4R), 3 ½ x5 (3R), name
card)
• Apply power to the lm & photo scanner by two ways:
(1)USB: Connect the lm & photo scanner to PC with USB cable
(2)5V adapter: Connect the adapter to the device with USB cable
• Press the POWER button to turn on the lm & photo scanner.
Note:
(1)When the Film scanner mode is selected, the Film scan LED
indicator will be turned on.
(2)When the Photo scanner mode is selected, the Photo scan LED
indicator will be turned on.
• Follow the on-screen menu for scanning instructions.
• After scanning, remove the memory card.
Note:
The film & photo scanner has a built-in memory for recording; the
internal memory will only be used when there is no SD card inserted.
• Or read pictures from PC via USB mode

Home/MODE: No memory card
When no memory card is inserted
into the machine, a warning icon
will be shown on screen.

After the welcome page, the above menu will appear. You can press
LEFT/RIGHT button for desired menu, and then press ENTER button to
conrm.
Note: In capture mode, we recommend you use AC adapter connected
with USB for capturing.
1.1 Adjust brightness and color of image
You can adjust brightness and color
of image in capture mode.
When enter into capture mode, press
ENTER button, following picture will
show on:
EV means brightness; R means red;
G means green; B means blue.
Press ENTER button to switch, press
LEFT/RIGHT button to adjust data
Press SCAN button back to image
preview mode

1.2 Capture: Mirror/Flip (Hard Key)
Images can be mirrored or flipped before capture, press the LEFT/
RIGHT button for the Mirror/Flip function, The live preview will be
adjusted accordingly(This function corrects the capture when the lm is
either placed upside down or ipped).
Note: The Mirror and Flip buttons can only be used while in the live
preview mode

1.3 Capture mode
In the capture mode, there will be an
indicator on the left top corner to indicate that
it is in live preview mode.
Pressing the ENTER button, enters the EV
value mode. Press the LEFT/RIGHT button
to adjust. Press the ENTER button again to
conrm and return to live preview mode.
1.4 Capture: Edit Menu
① Save: save captured image
② Cancel: cancel any editing with this image
③ Home: back to main menu

Pressing the SCAN button in live preview, the edit menu will appear.
Press the ENTER button and the current image will be saved to the
internal memory or memory card when there is a memory card inserted.
The display will return to live view again.

1.6 Capture: Save
Pressing the SCAN button in live preview,
preview (live view) image will be selected
and shown on the screen. It will take
between 1~2 second with 2 icons shown on
the left side of the screen. The save icon
will be highlighted. Conrm by pressing the
ENTER button, and the display will return to
live preview mode.
1.7 Capture: Cancel
Select Cancel icon with LEFT/RIGHT button
and press the ENTER button to cancel any
editing done on the selected image. The
display will return to live preview mode
(nothing will be saved)
1.8 Capture: Home
Select the Home icon with the LEFT/RIGHT
button, press the ENTER or SCAN button
anytime to return to the main menu
1.9 Exit from Edit mode back to Capture mode (live view)
Press the ENTER button to save or cancel the option, the display will
return to capture mode/live preview. Move the lm holder to the lm for
capture.
1.10 Memory full
When the internal memory or memory card
is full, a memory full icon will be shown.
This only appears after the SCAN button
is pressed. Download the images to PC
or replace the memory card to continue
capturing.
2: Format
You can format your scanner or SD card in form mode. If without SD
card, the scanner will be format.
You can select YES or NO to format your scanner or SD card.

3: Playback
or
Press the LEFT/RIGHT button to playback mode. Return to the main
menu by selecting the Home icon or pressing the SCAN button. Press
the ENTER button to conrm the selection.
3.1 Playback: Auto Slide Show
Playback mode (defaulted to a slide show
preview), the screen will display all images
stored in internal memory or memory card.
There is a 2 seconds interval between
images. Pause the slide show by pressing
the ENTER button (Only the images captured
by the film scanner are displayed in the
playback mode)
3.2 Playback: Edit Menu
① Exit: return to Slide show mode

Delete: delete this picture stored in
internal memory or memory card
③Home: return to main menu
3.3 Playback: Slide show→Single picture→Edit mode
Pause the slide show mode to single picture playback by pressing the
ENTER button. Browse through each picture by pressing the LEFT/
RIGHT button. Press the ENTER button to bring out the edit functions to
modify the selected image.

If there is no memory card inserted or there are no images in the internal
memory, the screen will automatically display 20 frames of defaulted
images. These images cannot be edited.
3.4 Playback: Exit
Enter
Selecting the Exit function in the edit menu, the display will return to the
slide show mode. It starts from the current picture without any changes
made.

4: Film Type
In film scanner mode, change film type by entering Film Type menu.
Press the LEFT/RIGHT button for Film press the ENTER button to
conrm. Press the MODE button to return to the main menu.
Press the LEFT/RIGHT button to select lm type, then press the ENTER
button to conrm.
3.5 Playback: Delete
Enter
Press the LEFT/RIGHT button to delete the current image by selecting
the delete icon and press the ENTER button. The next image will be
shown. The selection moves to the Exit icon. To continuously delete,
move the selection back to the delete icon again and press the ENTER
button to conrm.
3.6 Playback: Home
Select the Home icon with the LEFT/
RIGHT button, and press ENTER button or
SCAN button to return to the main menu
3.7 Playback: No Picture
If there is no images while in playback
mode, a No picture symbol will appear on
screen.

5: Effect
In Photo scanner mode, change color effect by entering Effect menu.
Press the LEFT/RIGHT button for Effect press the ENTER button to
conrm. Press the MODE button to return to the main menu.

6: Crop proportion
In Photo scanner mode, change crop proportion by entering Crop menu.
Press the LEFT/RIGHT button for Crop press the ENTER button to
conrm. Press the MODE button to return to the main menu.

7: Business Card Reader
1. Insert the CD in the CD-ROM
2. A pop-up installation interface after you put the CD in the CD-ROM
3. Install Business Card Reader.
NIMOCARD is a professional business card scanning and management
software. Supported by an appropriate hardware, Nimocard can quick
capture a business card image, convert it into text using its advanced
OCR engine, and then sort each line of text into appropriate category.
User can also add or edit the card information manually, or import/
export data from Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, etc. To prevent
data losing caused by computer damage or hardware crash, Nimocard
can backup users’ data into a separate le, or backup all the data onto
the internet server.

7.1 Name Card Recognition
Select “File” → “open image”, you can choose language, and then it will
recognize the namecard automatically as below.
When the scanning is completed, you can close the capture window or
click on the main window on the back to bring up the preview window as
show below.
7.2 Edit Window
Selected one of the name card listed in the preview window and then
click on the "Edit" button on the left side, the edit window will appear as
the following:

7.4 Add business card
User can also create a new business card by clicking on the "New"
button on the left side of the main window.
7.3 Manually Editing
User can manually change any content listed on the left side of the
window. Or, right click on any of the selected box on the card image and
then re-direct them into the right sorting eld.
User can also rotate the image by click on the "Rotate" button on the
top. When finished the editing, please click on the close to exit the
editing window.

Software Features
1. Multi-language OS support
Nimocard uses unicode encoding standard and can be installed on
various operating systems of different languages.
2. OCR for multiple languages
Advanced OCR engine support multiple languages, such as English,
Simplied Chinese, or Traditional Chinese, etc.
3. Business card management
Nimocard allows users to quickly edit or sort their business card
information. User can also import data from or export data to other
windows applications, such as Window Outlook, Outlook Express, or
Excel, etc.
4. Quick Search
Nimocard allow users to search desired business card information
using text search. Its quick search speed can let any card be found
within a couple seconds.
5. Business card printing
Nimocard provides a wide range of printing templates. Business card
information can be easily printed on a variety of labels or envelopes.
6. Data Backup
Nimocard provides various ways of data backup. User can easily
backup their data locally into a le or backup their data on the internet
server. With the internet backup service, user can access their data
at anywhere, anytime, on any internet device with web browsing
capability.
8: Resolution
Change resolution by entering the resolution menu. Press the LEFT/
RIGHT button for Resolution and press the ENTER button to conrm.

9: Language
Change language by entering the language menu. Press the LEFT/
RIGHT button for Language and press the ENTER button to conrm.

10: USB mode
After capture, please take out the memory card from the lm scanner to
download the stored images from the memory card.

When the device is connected with a USB cable to a PC, Press the
LEFT/RIGHT button for USB MSDC and press the ENTER button to
confirm. The film scanner will become a mass storage device and to
preview or edit images on PC.
You can also press MODE button to back to main menu.
8: Maintenance
Use the cleaning cloth to wipe down the scanning surface frequently, to
prevent dust from appearing on the captured images.
Use the provided cleaning brush to wipe away dust collected on the
lens. Make sure that it is in PHOTO MODE.(refer to use instructions
below)
1. Gently push the brush into the scanner.
2. Flip the cover open and look through the
transparent scanning surface.
3. Make sure that it is in PHOTO MODE.
4. Make sure that the brush is inserted fully
into the scanner and covering the lens.
5. Rotate the brush such that the arrow is
facing upwards
Note: if the brush cannot rotate, insert the
brush further into the scanner, checking
the position through the transparent
scanning surface. (repeat steps 2-4)
6. Move the brush gently forward and
backwards, sliding along the slot of the
scanner. The brush will now be wiping the
surface of the lens.
7. To remove, reverse the steps.

1. Gently push the brush into the scanner.
Question: There is unwanted stripe appearance at the edge of the
image.
Answer: If it is slight stripe, move the slide holder gently to and fro in
the device until the stripe is no longer visible in the preview
window.
If the stripe is still, please contact with our retailer.
Question: The device cannot connect to the computer.
Answer: Please check if the cable has already connected to the USB
port of the computer. Or connect the cable to another USB
port. It is recommended that connect it to the motherboard
directly, not to the front panel.
Turn on the power button, enter USB mode, it acts as a mass
storage device.
