9.5 Antenna Control
The fo owing settings require high y specia ised
know edge and ski s. If in doubt, you shou d have
this work carried out by an experienced professiona .
Requirements:
The parabo ic antenna must feature a contro motor
which receives and uses the signa from the receiver.
The mechanica settings for the antenna must be
carried out correct y so that the sate ites orbit can be
proper y tracked. This is the on y way to ensure that
the strongest possib e signa is received.
In the “Genera Settings” menu, “6. DiSEqC” must be
set to ON.
The sate ite receiver “knows” the position of each
sate ite in re ation to each other. As a resu t, it is
sufficient to se ect and find just one sate ite in the
“Antenna Positioner” menu and set it to maximum
strength and store it. A other known sate ites are
configured and stored using the ca cu ate command.
You can of course search for new sate ites – you
must on y use menu items 1-4.
In the submenu “1 Set Limits”, the physica imits are
set within which the parabo ic antenna can move
without obstruction.
To do this, move the antenna as far east as possib e and this position shou d be stored using “Set East
Limit”. After this, the antenna moves westwards using menu item 1 and the west imit is set. If the
structura surroundings change, you can de ete the imits and recreate them to match the new sur-
roundings.
Menu item “5 Reference Position” resets the antenna contro motor to the de ivery position (dead
centre).
NOTE:
If your motor does not have a motor, you can use the Antenna positioner menu to check the signa
strength.
