3 Privacy
This data protection declaration describes which data, if any, is
transferred from the module to the Bayernluft server via the
Internet and for what purpose this is used:
The module is paired with your router/access point via WPS,
for example, whereby the module is assigned a local IP address
in the format 192.168.0.100, for example. This is not to be
confused with the public IP address of your Internet provider.
You will use the local IP address to access your ventilation
device later in the home network. In order to find out which IP
was assigned to your module by the local DHCP server, this will
be transmitted to the Bayernluft server on request after the
connection has been successfully established and can be
displayed there by entering the so-called MAC address of the
module. For this reason, the MAC address is then also
transmitted to the Bayernluft server. The MAC addresses are
not linked by Bayernluft with the buyer of a WLAN module, so
that it is exclusively an anonymous MAC address. If you do not
actively communicate your MAC address to us, Bayernluft does
not know at any time which customer has which MAC address
on his device and which local IP address has been assigned to
it. If you do not want this transmission, you can set the left DIP
switch in position "ON" (private mode) and then you have to
read out the local IP address via USB cable using the Windows
tool or in the router. To enable an automatic software update,
the firmware version of the module and the motherboard is
transmitted to the server accordingly. The automatic search

Manual –Wifi module
for a software update can be deactivated via the following
command: your-module-IP/?autoupdate=0
If you use the server based WLAN configuration page (gear
icon), the current module settings are transmitted to a script
of the Bayernluft server for generating a comfortable settings
page. A storage of this data does not take place. The privacy
policy of our homepage applies, which you can view at
www.bayernluft.de/datenschutz. Please note that the module
does not have its own SSL encryption certificate. We therefore
recommend that you choose the device name in such a way
that no conclusions can be drawn about your identity. If you
use the automatic atomic time synchronization, the module
retrieves the time at one of the following addresses:
ptbtime1.ptb.de, ptbtime2.ptb.de or ptbtime3.ptb.de The
data protection conditions of the Physikalisch-Technische
Bundesanstalt (PTB) www.ptb.de apply.
4 Static charge
The module is not overly sensitive to static charging.
Nevertheless, we recommend that you discharge any charge
on your body by touching a grounded object, e.g. water tap,
radiator or similar, before unpacking the plug-on module.

5 Installation
Read these instructions completely before
commissioning and pass them on to any subsequent
users of the module.
Keep these instructions in a place where they are
accessible to all users.
5.1 Video-Tutorial
The installation and commissioning is explained in a video
tutorial. This can be found on our website
www.radonshop.com in the product description of the Wifi
module.
For the first contact we recommend to set the right DIP switch
(label "1") down to HTML mode (pos. "ON") as shown in the
video. As soon as you then enter the MAC address of the
module on our above mentioned web address after WPS
pairing, you can immediately click on the IP address and test
the connection to the device.
To establish contact via Windows tool to the module, please
slide the right DIP switch up before (tool mode) while the
device is disconnected from power. The future clearly lies in
HTML mode, as this works cross-platform with any browser
(also smartphone etc.).

Manual –Wifi module
5.2 Compatible board
The WLAN modules only work with boards from revision 1.2
(recognizable by the blue voltage terminal and two buttons
below the USB interface, as shown in the video on the product
page). In the meantime it turned out that some batches of this
revision were equipped with weaker voltage regulators. If your
module's LED does not light up properly after plugging it in, but
e.g. only glows, please request a free replacement board from
us. On the product page of the WLAN module you can see a
comparison photo of the voltage regulators.
5.3 Connection with W-LAN repeater
Depending on the repeater manufacturer and model, you may
have to trigger WPS pairing either at the router (e.g. FritzBox)
or directly at the next repeater. Some routers do not
automatically loop through the WPS signal from the router.
After successful connection, the module will always contact
the WLAN source with the strongest signal.

6 Firmware update
6.1 Version info
You can read the current version of your firmware at the
bottom right of the HTML mode live screen:
The first number gives information about the signal strength to
the access point (-60 dBm are better than -80dBm) It follows
the firmware version of the device motherboard (Attention,
this must be min. 1838000A).
The version of the WLAN module follows.

6.2 Manuals Update
New modules are provided with an automatic update function
at the factory. If your version does not yet support this
(firmware < 20170701), then you can start the update
manually by appending the following command. The module
must be in HTML mode for this. Please replace the IP address
in the following example with your own module address:
192.168.0.100/?updatecheck=1
The update may not yet be confirmed by a message page. After
about 1 minute you can reach the module again via its IP
address and see the new version number in the bottom right
corner, if an update was available.
6.3 Automatic update
The automatic update can be activated or deactivated in the
settings menu of the HTML mode (gear in the upper left
corner).

7 Tips and troubleshooting
7.1 Login without WPS
If your access point or router does not have a WPS function,
you may be able to temporarily enter its network identifier and
password into a friend's router that supports WPS and thus
connect to the WLAN module. The module will save the
identifier and password and then connect to your router later
as well.
In the meantime, a video tutorial is also available on the
product page on how to control the module itself as an access
point and how to store the access data.
7.2 Device does not respond in tool mode
Some support calls reached us because the connection setup
via our Windows tool did not work. These were the two most
common causes:
a) The right dip switch on the module was not switched up to
tool mode. This switch is used to toggle between HTML/tool
mode. Currently, both modes cannot be operated in
parallel. To switch, please de-energize the device.
b) If the connection via Windows tool is unstable despite the
dip switch, please check if no browser tries to access the
module via HTML anymore. Sometimes the browser
continues to run e.g. on the cell phone and thus disturbs
the communication.

8 Maintenance and care
Usually the module does not need any maintenance and care.
Only in case of coarse dust deposits compressed air can be
used for cleaning.
9 Warranty
The two-year warranty applies to the Wifi module purchased
from RadonTec GmbH or authorized dealers.
This covers defects in material or workmanship under normal
use for a period of one year after receipt of the product.
Contamination due to dirt or improper use is not covered by
the warranty. During the warranty period, the product will be
repaired or replaced at no charge.
*Exclusions:
This warranty does not cover damage caused by abuse, neglect
or misuse. This includes damage caused by drops, impacts or
penetrations. It is also void if the product has been repaired or
altered by another EIC Inc.
