Congratulations on your purchase of the Raptor® Edge System!
You have selected an exceptional edge grinder by Surface Prep Super Store. Each component
used in the construction of the Raptor® Edge System was selected to provide you with
superior performance and the highest quality available today. The design of the Raptor® Edge
System makes it easy to use and operate. Please take a few moments to read over the
operating instructions to ensure that you get the best performance from your Raptor® Edge
System and years of trouble-free service.
The Raptor® Edge System is ideal for grinding or polishing concrete, terrazzo, stone, and
masonry or removing paint, thin set, adhesives, VCT, mastic and epoxy floor coatings. Get
right to the edge with the Raptor® Edge System.
Safety:
Personal protection equipment and proper safety attire should be worn when operating your
Raptor® Edge System. All operators should wear approved safety equipment appropriate for
the job such as hard hat, eye protection and safety shoes. Hearing protection should be used
at all times. Keep loose clothing, hands and feet away from moving parts. Failure to do so
could result in dismemberment or death. Maintain a safe operating distance from flammable
materials, sparks from the cutting-action of this machine can ignite flammable materials
or vapors.
Electric Shock:
Extreme care must be taken when operating the Raptor® Edge System with water present.
Ensure power cord is properly grounded, and is attached to a Ground-Fault-Interrupter (GFI)
outlet. Check all electrical cables and make sure all connections are tight and cable is in good
working condition. Be sure cable is correctly rated for both the operating current and voltage of
this equipment. Improper connection of the equipment can result in a risk of electric shock.

1. Set trim knob to slow
2. Use main speed knob to adjust high speed between medium and fast
*Different diamond cup wheels perform better at different RPM’s
For Polishing:
1. Set main speed knob pointing toward trim knob
2. Use trim knob to adjust polishing speed
*Caution: Polishing rings can spin off if RPM is set higher than medium
*Does not apply to Standard or Deluxe Models

Blade Angle Adjustment
Adjusting blade angle:
The Raptor allows you to adjust blade flatness to compensate for different diamond thickness,
different blade heights and polishing ring wear
*Always check blade angle when changing blades
*Always check polishing ring angle when changing from grinding cup wheel to polishing rings.

Raptor® Brush Replacement
Replacing Brushes in Grinder Motor:
Parts and quantity needed two order brushes for your brand of grinder
Makita® Brush Part Number: REG-26 (31-603-483)
Metabo® Brush Part Number: REG-27 (191957-7)
1. Remove lift bolt with 2 ½" wrenches, this will allow grinder handle to drop below Raptor
body for easy access to brush ports
2. Remove old brushes and replace with new brushes (See Makita® or Metabo® manual for details)
3. After brush replacement, lift grinder handle and replace lift bolt under handle and tighten

Surface Prep Super store warrants that each new Raptor® Edge System to be free from
defects in material and workmanship in normal use and service for a period (180) one
hundred, eighty days from date of shipment to the original retail owner. Accessories or
equipment furnished and installed on the Raptor® Edge System but manufactured by
others, including, but not limited to grinder motor, light fixture, electrical components, etc,
shall carry the accessory manufacturers own warranty. Surface Prep Super Store will, at
its option, repair or replace, any part which shall appear to the defective in material or
workmanship.
