1 Introduction
1.1 Information on this manual
This document is a version of the installa-
tion instructions. Please note the respec-
tive version and date.
This manual describes the configuration
and mounting of the WiFi adapter. The
WiFi adapter is available for the following
devices:
nSelfCookingCenter®: 6 half size - 20
full size
nLM1: iCombi Pro (iCP) 6 half size - 20
full size
nLM2: iCombi Classic (iCC) 6 half size -
20 full size
Read this manual completely before carry-
ing out the installation. The manual enables
safe handling of the devices and correct in-
stallation.
The figures in this manual are examples
only and may differ from the kit.
2 Safety
2.1 General safety information
The unit is designed so that
it does not pose a danger
when installed correctly.
This manual describes
proper installation of the
device.
nObserve the safety informa-
tion in the installation man-
ual of the combi steamer that
the WiFi adapter is to be
connected to.
nObserve the relevant coun-
try-specific and local regula-
tions and standards in your
country.
nThe device should only be
connected in accordance
with the installation manual
and the information on the
type plate.
2.2 Intended use
The WiFi adapter is only designed for use
in commercial kitchens.
The WiFi adapter enables connection to
wireless networks .
3 Product description
NOTE
The WiFi adapter has FCC approval.
With the WiFi adapter, the function scope
of the devices can be expanded with 2 ad-
ditional functions:
a. Connection to a WiFi Access Point
[ Figure 01].
b. Repeater mode [ Figure 02].

The WiFi adapter has three status LEDs.
The lit colors indicate the status of the rel-
evant functions:

4 Installation
4.1 Mounting the WiFi adapter
DANGER
High voltages during connection to the
power grid
Danger to life when working with high
voltage.
nDisconnect the connection from the
power supply.
nEnsure that the unit is de-energized.

aMake sure that the unit which the WiFi
adapter is to be connected to is
switched off and disconnected from
mains power.
aThe electrical compartment is open.
1. Screw both antennas on the WiFi
adapter.
2. Punch out the second perforation for
the cable gland with a suitable tool.
Mount the cable gland on the punched
out position. Feed the cable into the
unit with both connectors though the
unit base from below [ Figure 04].
3. Connect the current limiter module to
the cable [ Figure 05].
4. Connect the current limiter to the cir-
cuit board [ Figure 06]. Remove the
cable tie at the top left where applica-
ble.
5. Set up the WiFi adapter (see 4.2 Set-
ting up the WiFi adapter).
6. Connect the Ethernet cable
[ Figure 07].
7. Roll up the cable outside the unit.
8. Clean the bonding surface with the
cleaning cloth. Mount the WiFi adapter
in the relevant position [ Figure 08].
>The WiFi adapter can be fixed or
screwed in selected positions. We
recommend mounting it on the
side of UltraVent hoods (1), in the
center on the rear of the stand (2)
or mounting on the wall (3).

aMake sure that the unit which the WiFi
adapter is to be connected to is
switched off and disconnected from
mains power.
aThe electrical compartment is open.
1. Screw both antennas on the WiFi
adapter.
2. Punch out the second perforation for
the cable gland with a suitable tool.
3. Mount the cable gland on the punched
out position. Feed the cable with both
connectors through the cable gland
[ Figure 09].
4. Connect the power supply to the I/O
card [ Figure 10].
5. Set up the WiFi adapter (see 4.2 Set-
ting up the WiFi adapter).

6. Connect the Ethernet cable to the in-
side of the control panel or the outer
Ethernet port [ Figure 11].
7. Feed the cable out of the unit. Roll up
the cable outside the unit.
8. Mount the WiFi adapter in a suitable
position [ Figure 12].
>The WiFi adapter can be fixed or
screwed in selected positions. We
recommend mounting it on the
side of UltraVent hoods (1), in the
center on the rear of the stand (2)
or mounting on the wall (3).
4.2 Setting up the WiFi adapter
DANGER
High voltages during connection to the

nWork on the switched-on unit with
the electrical compartment open
may only be carried out by trained
personnel.
nWork on the switched-on device
may only be carried out with suitable
protective clothing.
4.2.1 Use as a WiFi client adapter
aThe electrical compartment is open.
aThe device is switched on.
1. Connect the Ethernet cable of the WiFi
adapter to a computer.
2. Ensure that the WiFi on the computer
is deactivated during the configura-
tion.
Logging in
1. In a web browser, open the address
https://192.168.11.1 or a different pre-
viously set IP address. Accept the nec-
essary certificates.
2. Enter the user name and the password
on the screen. The user name is set as
root and the password as Rational as
standard [ Figure 13].
>Press the
Login button.
NOTE
Change the initial password to prevent
misuse
During the first configuration, set a new
password in the System /
Administration menu.
Connecting the adapter with a WiFi
Access Point
NOTE
The network type during connection
must be taken into account
The WiFi adapter can not be used in a
captive portal (e.g. a guest WiFi) or a
WPA2-Enterprise-based WiFi network.
1. In the Network/WiFi menu, press the
Browse button [ Figure 14].
2. Select the desired network. Confirm
the network with the Join Network
button.
3. In the
WPA key input line, enter the
WiFi password [ Figure 15]. Con-
firm the entry with the
Submit button.
4. Confirm the entry with the Save but-
ton.
5. Confirm with the
Save & Apply button.

>The signal strength of the selected
WiFi is shown in the overview
[ Figure 16]. If the password has
been entered incorrectly, 0% ap-
pears in the overview. The process
must be repeated from point/line
1. The settings can be changed by
pressing the
Edit button.
6. Carry out a test. Open any web ad-
dress in your browser.
7. Connect the Ethernet cable to the Eth-
ernet interface on the combi-steamer.
8. Close the electrical compartment.
9. Activate the network settings of the
combi-steamer DHCP.
10. Restart the combi-steamer.
>The device is connected to WiFi.
11. Activate the ConnectedCooking op-
tion in the settings for the combi-
steamer.
>> You will receive an activation code for
registering the unit in Connected-
Cooking. Further information on Con-
nectedCooking is available in the Con-
nectedCooking manual.
4.2.2 Use as a repeater for expanding
the existing WiFi coverage
NOTE
Repeater mode requires a permanent
power supply
To enable the repeater mode to be
used, the device must be switched on
with the connected WiFi adapter.
NOTE
Number of connected units in
Repeater mode
Only a limited number of units can be
connected with the WIFI adapter in
Repeater mode:
niCombi Pro: max. 10 units
nSelfCookingCenter®: max. 5 units.
In this operating mode, the WiFi adapter
extends the coverage of an existing WiFi
network. Here, the WiFi adapter provides
its own wireless network in addition to the
existing network. This network has a sepa-
rate SSID, a separate password and pro-
vides addresses from the address range
192.168.2.2 – 192.168.2.254 via its own
DHCP service.
Requirements
aThe electrical compartment is open.
aThe unit is switched on.
aThe settings for }Use as a WiFi client
adapter have been carried out.
1. Connect the Ethernet cable of the WiFi
adapter to a computer.
2. Ensure that the WiFi on the computer
is deactivated during the configura-
tion.
Logging in
1. In a web browser, open the address
https://192.168.11.1 or a different pre-
viously set IP address. Accept the nec-
essary certificates.
2. Enter the user name and the password
on the screen. The user name is set as
root and the password as Rational as
standard [ Figure 13].
>Press the Login button.

Configuration
1. In the Network/WiFi menu, press the
Add button [ Figure 17].
2. Enter the name for the extended WiFi
in the ESSID field [ Figure 18].
>The
mode must be set as Access
Point
.
3. Select the
WiFi Encryption tab. Select
the button on the right next to the
password field to display the pre-set
password [ Figure 19]. Note down
the password in a secure place. Con-
firm the entries with the Save button.
>A new network appears in the WiFi
overview [ Figure 20].
4. Confirm with the
Save & Apply button.
5. Test the connection. Disconnect the
Ethernet cable and connect the laptop
with the new WiFi. Enter the SSID and
the password noted down in the pre-
vious step.
>A website can be opened.
6. Connect the Ethernet cable in the
combi-steamer.
7. Close the electrical compartment.
>> The generated WiFi can be used by
other WiFi adapters and combi-
steamers in WiFi client mode. For this,
the configuration must be carried out
with the created SSID and the noted
password.
4.2.3 Changing the IP address
NOTE
Connection test fails despite adequate
signal strength
If the WiFi adapter has the same IP
address as the access point, the
connection test will fail despite good
signal strength and correct
configuration settings of the WiFi
network.
Remove the IP address conflict:
nCheck the IP address set on the
access point.
nChange the IP address set on the
WiFi adapter.
1. Log in to the menu.
2. Set a different IP address in the main
menu under
Menu – System – LAN IP
address
.
3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
>Use the newly set IP address to ac-
cess the web interface of the WiFi
adapter.
>> Repeat the connection test.
4.2.4 Testing the WiFi adapter
NOTE
Test the connection of the WiFi
adapter. If incorrect settings have been
made, the settings must be adapted or
the WiFi adapter must be reset.
nUse the magnet (Reed contact) to
reset the WiFi adapter.

4.2.5 Configuration of the WiFi adapter
via the wireless network provided
In repeater mode, changes can be made
wirelessly to the configuration via the
wireless network provided. To do this,
carry out the login from the end device
connected to the wireless network pro-
vided (see }Use as a repeater for expand-
ing the existing WiFi coverage). Carry out
the changes.
4.3 Reset to default settings
The WiFi adapter is reset to the default
settings using a magnet. To reset the WiFi
adapter, hold the magnet briefly in the
middle between the two antennas above
the LEDs until they flash at the same time.
Then wait a few seconds and start again
with the configuration.
4.4 Updating the firmware
aThe WiFi adapter is connected with
the computer.
aThere is a firmware file on the com-
puter with the ending *.bin.
1. Get the latest firmware from RATIO-
NAL customer service and via the Ser-
vice Partner Portal.
Logging in
1. In a web browser, open the address
https://192.168.11.1 or a different pre-
viously set IP address. Accept the nec-
essary certificates.
2. Enter the user name and the password
on the screen. The user name is set as
root and the password as Rational as
standard [ Figure 13].
>Press the Login button.
Updating the firmware
1. Select the menu
System/ Firmware
Update
.
2. Press the
Flash Firmware button.
3. Press the
Browse button. Select the
firmware file saved on the computer.
4. Press the
Upload button.
5. Remove the checkmark in the
Keep
settings
field.
>The settings are reset.
6. Confirm the update with the
Proceed
button.
>Wait until the green LED goes out.
The blue LED lights up.
>The device must not be switched
off.
7. Wait a few minutes until the green
LED flashes. The device can be ac-
cessed again. Log in again.
>> The firmware has been successfully
updated.

1 Introduction

2.2 Usage conforme
L'adaptateur WiFi est prévu pour être
utilisé exclusivement dans des grandes
cuisines industrielles.
L'adaptateur WiFi permet de se connecter
aux réseaux sans fil et de renforcer la
portée du signal.
3 Description du produit
NOTE
L'adaptateur WiFi est agréé par la FCC.
À l'aide de l'adaptateur WiFi, les
fonctionnalités des appareils peuvent être
élargies de 2 options:
a. Connexion à un point d'accès WiFi

b. Mode répéteur [ image 02].

4.1 Monter l'adaptateur WiFi

1. Vissez les deux antennes sur
l'adaptateur WiFi.
2. Utilisez un outil approprié pour percer
la deuxième perforation du presse-
étoupe. Placez le presse-étoupe à la
position cassée. Insérez le câble dans
l'appareil avec les deux connecteurs
par le bas à travers le fond de l'appareil
[ image 04].
3. Branchez le module de limitation de
courant sur le câble [ image 05].
4. Branchez le limiteur de courant sur la
carte [ image 06]. Au besoin,
enlevez le serre-câble en haut à
gauche.
5. Effectuez la configuration de
l'adaptateur WiFi (voir 4.2
Configuration de l'adaptateur WiFi).
6. Branchez le câble Ethernet sur
[ image 07].
7. Enroulez les câbles à l'extérieur de
l'appareil.
8. Nettoyez la surface adhésive à l'aide du
chiffon de nettoyage. Placez
l'adaptateur WiFi à la position
appropriée [ image 08].
>L'adaptateur WiFi peut être collé ou
vissé à des emplacements
sélectionnés. Il est recommandé de
monter sur le côté des capots
Ultravent (1), au centre à l'arrière
des tables de soubassement (2) ou
au mur (3).

6. Branchez le câble Ethernet à l'intérieur
du panneau de commande ou sur le
port Ethernet externe à [ image 11].
7. Faites passer le câble à l'extérieur de
l'appareil. Enroulez les câbles à
l'extérieur de l'appareil.
8. Placez l'adaptateur WiFi à une position
adéquate [ image 12].
>L'adaptateur WiFi peut être collé
ou vissé à des emplacements
sélectionnés. Il est recommandé de
monter sur le côté des capots
Ultravent (1), au centre à l'arrière
des tables de soubassement (2) ou
au mur (3).
4.2 Configurer l'adaptateur WiFi

4.2.1 Utilisation en tant qu’adaptateur
WiFi client
aLe local électrique est ouvert.
aL'appareil est allumé.
1. Connectez le câble Ethernet de
l’adaptateur WiFi à un ordinateur.
2. Veillez à ce que le WiFi à l'ordinateur
soit désactivée pendant la
configuration.
Connexion
1. Dans un navigateur Web, ouvrez
l'adresse https://192.168.11.1 ou une
autre adresse IP préalablement définie.
Acceptez les certificats nécessaires.
2. Saisissez le nom d'utilisateur et le mot
de passe dans le masque. Par défaut, le
nom d'utilisateur est
root et le mot de
passe est
Rational [ image 13].
>Appuyez sur le bouton Connexion .

NOTE
Modifier le mot de passe initial pour
éviter tout abus
Lors de la configuration initiale,
définissez un nouveau mot de passe
dans le menu Système /
Administration.
Connectez l'adaptateur à un point d'accès
WiFi
NOTE
Le type de réseau lors de la connexion
doit être pris en compte
L'adaptateur WiFi ne peut pas être
utilisé dans un portail captif (par
exemple un WiFi invité) ou un réseau
WiFi basé sur WPA2-Enterprise.
1. Dans le menu réseau / WiFi, appuyez
sur le bouton
Recherche
[ image 14].
2. Sélectionnez le réseau souhaité.
Confirmez le réseau en cliquant sur le
bouton
Rejoindre un réseau .
3. Dans la ligne de saisie
Clé WPA, entrez
le mot de passe WiFi [ image 15].
Confirmez l'entrée en cliquant sur le
bouton Soumettre .
4. Confirmez l'entrée en cliquant sur le
bouton Sauvegarder .
5. Confirmez avec le bouton
Sauvegarder
& Appliquer
.
>La puissance de signal du WiFi
sélectionné s’affiche dans la vue
d'ensemble [ image 16]. Si le
mot de passe a été mal saisi, 0 %
apparaît dans la vue d'ensemble. Le
processus doit être répété à partir
du point 1. Les réglages peuvent
être modifiés en appuyant sur le
bouton
Éditer .
6. Effectuez un test. Dans votre
navigateur, ouvrez n'importe quelle
adresse Web.
7. Connectez le câble Ethernet à
l'interface Ethernet de l'amortisseur
Combi.
8. Fermez le local électrique.
9. Dans les paramètres réseau de
l'amortisseur Combi, activez DHCP.
10. Redémarrez l'amortisseur Combi.
>L'appareil est relié au réseau
électrique.
11. Dans les paramètres de l'amortisseur
Combi, activez l’option
ConnectedCooking.
>> Vous recevrez un code d'activation
pour pouvoir enregistrer l'appareil
dans ConnectedCooking. Pour plus
d'informations sur ConnectedCooking,
consultez le guide ConnectedCooking.
4.2.2 Utilisation comme répéteur pour
élargir la couverture WiFi
existante
NOTE
Le mode répéteur nécessite une
alimentation électrique permanente
Pour pouvoir utiliser le mode répéteur,
l'appareil doit être sous tension avec
l'adaptateur WiFi connecté.

Nombre d'appareils connectés en
mode répéteur
En mode répéteur, il n’est possible de
connecter qu’un nombre réduit
d’appareils avec l'adaptateur WiFi:
niCombi Pro: 10 appareils max
nSelfCookingCenter® : 5 appareils
max.
Dans ce mode de fonctionnement,
l'adaptateur WiFi est utilisé pour élargir la
couverture d'un réseau WiFi existant. En
plus du réseau existant, l'adaptateur WiFi
fournit son propre réseau sans fil. Celui-ci
dispose d'un SSID séparé, d'un mot de
passe séparé et fournit des adresses à
partir de la plage d'adresses 192.168.2.2 –
192.168.2.254 au moyen de son propre
service DHCP.
Conditions
aLe local électrique est ouvert.
aL'appareil est allumé.
aLes réglages du }Utilisation en tant
qu’adaptateur WiFi client sont
effectués.
1. Connectez le câble Ethernet de
l’adaptateur WiFi à un ordinateur.
2. Veillez à ce que le WiFi à l'ordinateur
soit désactivée pendant la
configuration.
Connexion
1. Dans un navigateur Web, ouvrez
l'adresse https://192.168.11.1 ou une
autre adresse IP préalablement définie.
Acceptez les certificats nécessaires.
2. Saisissez le nom d'utilisateur et le mot
de passe dans le masque. Par défaut, le
nom d'utilisateur est
root et le mot de
passe est
Rational [ image 13].
>Appuyez sur le bouton
Connexion .
Configuration
1. Dans le menu réseau / WiFi, appuyez
sur le bouton
Ajouter [ image 17].
2. Dans le champ ESSID, indiquez le nom
du WiFi avancé [ image 18].
>Le
point d'accès doit être défini
comme
mode .
3. Sélectionnez l'onglet
Chiffrement
WiFi
. Sélectionnez la flèche droite près
du champ du mot de passe pour
pouvoir visualiser le mot de passe par
défaut [ image 19]. Notez le mot de
passe dans un endroit sûr. Confirmez
les entrées en cliquant sur le bouton
Sauvegarder .
>Un nouveau réseau [ image 20]
apparaît dans l'aperçu WiFi.
4. Confirmez avec le bouton Sauvegarder
& Appliquer
.
5. Testez la connexion. Débranchez le
câble Ethernet et connectez
l'ordinateur portable au nouveau WiFi.
Saisissez complètement le SSID et le
mot de passe noté précédemment.
>Une page Web peut être ouverte.
6. Branchez le câble Ethernet dans
l'amortisseur Combi.
7. Fermez le local électrique.
>> Le WiFi généré peut être utilisé par
d'autres adaptateurs WiFi et des
amortisseurs Combi en mode WiFi
client. À cet effet, la configuration doit
s’effectuer avec le SSID créé et le mot
de passe noté.

4.2.3 Modifier l'adresse IP
NOTE
Le test de connexion échoue malgré
une puissance de signal suffisante
Si l'adaptateur WiFi a la même adresse
IP que le point d'accès, le test de
connexion échoue malgré une bonne
puissance de signal et des paramètres
de configuration du réseau WiFi
corrects.
Résolvez le conflit d'adresses IP :
nVérifiez l'adresse IP définie sur le
point d'accès.
nModifiez l'adresse IP définie sur
l'adaptateur WiFi.
1. Connectez-vous au menu.
2. Définissez une adresse IP différente
dans le menu principal sous
Menu -
Système - Adresse IP LAN
.
3. Suivez les instructions à l'écran.
>Utilisez l'adresse IP nouvellement
définie pour accéder à l'interface
web de l'adaptateur WiFi.
>> Répétez le test de connexion.
4.2.4 Tester l'adaptateur WiFi
NOTE
Testez la connexion de l'adaptateur
WiFi. Si des réglages incorrects ont été
effectués, ils doivent être ajustés ou
l'adaptateur WiFi doit être réinitialisé.
nPour réinitialiser l'adaptateur WiFi,
utilisez l'aimant (contact Reed).
4.2.5 Configuration de l'adaptateur WiFi
via le réseau radio fourni
En mode répéteur, il est possible d’ajuster
la configuration sans fil via le réseau radio
fourni. Pour ce faire, connectez-vous à
partir d'un terminal relié au réseau radio
fourni (voir }Utilisation comme répéteur
pour élargir la couverture WiFi existante).
Effectuez les ajustements.
4.3 Rétablir les paramètres par
défaut
L'adaptateur WiFi est remis à l'état initial
en utilisant un aimant. Pour réinitialiser
l'adaptateur WiFi, maintenez l'aimant juste
au milieu entre les deux antennes au-
dessus des diodes électroluminescentes
jusqu'à ce qu'elles clignotent
simultanément. Attendez ensuite quelques
secondes, puis recommencez la
configuration.
4.4 Mise à jour du micrologiciel
aL'adaptateur WiFi est relié à
l'ordinateur.
aUn fichier de micrologiciel avec la fin
*.bin se trouve sur l'ordinateur.
1. Obtenez le micrologiciel actuel via le
service clientèle RATIONAL et le
portail des partenaires de service.

6. Confirmez la mise à jour en cliquant
sur le bouton
Continuer .
>Attendez que le voyant vert
s'éteigne. Le voyant bleu s'allume.
>L'appareil ne doit pas être mis hors
tension.
7. Attendez quelques minutes jusqu'à ce
que le voyant vert clignote. L'appareil
est à nouveau accessible. Connectez-
vous à nouveau.
>> Le micrologiciel a été mis à jour avec
succès.
