PREFACE
This installation manual is intended for persons
responsible for installing a CR7 kit. The manual
contains important instructions that should be
complied with when commissioning, operating and
servicing the CR7.
This manual has been compiled with the utmost care.
Raven Europe assumes no responsibility for any errors
or omissions in this document.
Any comments or questions can be sent to service-
[e-mail].
Raven Europe or any of its suppliers will accept no
liability for physical or material damage caused
whilst using the CR7.
The installed Raven system produces less than 70dB
(A) noise.
This calibration guide uses a number of concepts for
extra attention to a few things:

DISCLAIMER
The safety instructions contained in the manuals of the tractor or implements must be complied with at all
times.
Always switch off the tractor before installing or repairing hydraulic and electrical components of the
SBGuidance system.
It is strictly prohibited to use the CR7 system on public roads.
It is strictly prohibited to leave a driving vehicle unattended when the CR7 system is switched on. The driver is
always responsible for the direction and course of the vehicle.
To prevent injury or fire, replace defective fuses only with fuses of the same type and amperage.
The SBGuidance the operating system is not able to detect and avoid obstacles. If there is an obstacle in your
path, you will always need to take action for it to be avoided.
Only allow authorized/qualified persons to operate the system. Authorized/qualified persons are defined as:
persons who have read and understood the manual, have been given instructions by a product specialist, and
who are both physically and mentally fit and able to operate the system.
The system contains moving parts! Make sure the immediate environment is clear of people before operating
the system.
In case of system failure or breakdown switch of the tractor and disconnect the electrical power source to
avoid further damage. Contact your dealer for further instructions on how to repair your system.
Always wear personal protective equipment when operating/adjusting/repairing the system outside of the
tractor cab.
In order to prevent power surges from occurring, always start the machine first, before initiating the
SBGuidance control system.
Only touch the touch-screen with your finger or by using a special touch-screen stylus/pen. Operating the
touch-screen with sharp objects may cause permanent damage to the screen.
Always consult your supplier as to which products are best suited first before cleaning the touch-screen with
chemicals or alcohol.
If the terminal is not used for a long period, better remove the terminal from the tractor and store in a heated
environment. This will extend the life span of the electronic components.
To prevent theft, it is better to not let the terminal and GPS-antenna unattended in the tractor on the field.

The system is expecting a Steering Partner.
For an ISO Steer Ready tractor, the specific
brand will appear.
For a complete Raven Europe Steering
system, the steering partner is called ‘SBG
HDU’ (see figure on the right).
Select ‘next step’.

The Steering System needs GPS input to
work. In this step it is needed to select the
GPS receiver. Select the ‘Receiver Selection’
tab to select a receiver.

When a complete Raven Europe
Autosteering kit is mounted, a Raven 600S
receiver is also mounted. Select Raven 600S
to make sure configuration is in the right
way.

Measure the distance from the rear axle to
the antenna.
Remember this value! Later in the
configuration it needs to be entered
again.

Press on the box to enter a value and enter
the value in centimeters.

If needed, setup the Antenna Center Offset.
This is the offset from the antenna to the
Center of the machine.

Measure and enter the value from the
ground to the Antenna.
Remember this value! Later in the
configuration it needs to be entered
again.
Press next step.

Measure and enter the value from the rear
axle to the front axle.
Remember this value! Later in the
configuration it needs to be entered
again.
Press next step.

Setup the GPS Differential needed for the
system. In this example the Raven 600S is
configured for SBAS.
It is possible to choose a Differential
Sattelite. When this one is on Auto, the
receiver will select the strongest one.

When selecting the box underneath
Differential Source, it is possible to select
from GL1DE, SBAS, Satellite GS or RTK.

When Satellite GS (accuracy 3-5cm) is
available (subscription needed), select
Satellite GS. The receiver needs to have an
unlock. When Satellite GS is selected, the
subscription status is shown below.

When RTK (accuracy 0-2cm) is available
(Slingshot RTK modem is needed next to the
Raven 600S), select RTK. After that, it is
possible to setup the RTK Format and the
Correction Baudrate. When using Slingshot
RTK, leave this on Auto and on 115200.

In this case SBAS is used. Select SBAS and
leave Differential Satellite on Auto. The
selected SBAS satellite (#) is shown (in this
case, 0120).
Press next step.

The GPS Status Information is shown. The
satellite needs to be green and the Status
needs to be Converged.
This can take a few minutes, depending on
the view of the antenna (when there are
buildings around it can take longer as in the
middle of a field).
When converged, press next step.

The ISO Raven Steering Controller (module
next to the seat) is now being calibrated.
First step is to tell the system how the
module is mounted. It needs to be flat (see
installation manual), with the sticker to the
upside. In this calibration, tell which way the
connectors are pointed (in this figure, they
are pointing to the backside of the tractor, as
preferred). Press next step.

Drive forward. The calibration goes
automatically to the next step. If it stays in
this screen, press on the button next to
Vehicle Direction. Now the calibration goes
to the next step automatically.

Drive 10m forward. After the Distance
traveled is up to 10m, the calibration
continues automatically to the next step.

After 10m is traveled, the system continues
to the Terrain Compensation Calibration.
Nothing happens until next step is pressed.
Press next step.

Now drive to a flat surface, mark the place of
the rear axle and make sure the whole
machine (including the cab) is completely
not moving, shaking or so.
When the place of the rear axle is marked,
press Calibrate.

The system is calibrating the Gyro.
Make sure the machine and the cabine is
standing still when calibrating is in progress!

The system shows where the first step of the
calibration is performed. Before the next step
of the calibration can be performed, the
machine needs to be turned 180 degrees
(same place, only other direction). Turn
around and make sure the triangle is in the
right place.

When the machine is in the right place, the
triangle gets green and it is possible to press
Calibrate. Before pressing calibrate, make
sure the whole machine (including the cab) is
completely not moving, shaking or so.
Press Calibrate.

The system is calibrating the Gyro.
Make sure the machine and the cabine is
standing still when calibrating is in progress!

Calibration of the Gyro has been completed.
Press next step.

The next step is to calibrate the Wheel Angle
Sensor Value. This can only be done when
driving between 1.6 –6.4 km/h.
Make sure the speed is between those limits
and turn the steering wheel to the left.

Hold the steering wheel on the left and press
the ‘Voltage’ underneath left. The current
voltage is setup as the left voltage (check if
the voltage on left changes to the current
voltage).
Press next step.

Now turn the steering wheel to the center
value. Drive manually straight to an object
straight ahead.

While driving straight, hold the steering
wheel straight and press the ‘Voltage’
underneath center. The current voltage is
setup as the center voltage (check if the
voltage on center changes to the current
voltage).
Press next step.

Now turn the steering wheel to the right.

Hold the steering wheel on the right and
press the ‘Voltage’ underneath right. The
current voltage is setup as the right voltage
(check if the voltage on right changes to the
current voltage).
Press next step.

Setup the Disengage sensor. First step is to
select the Disengage sensor Type. Press the
box underneath the Disengage type.

When a complete Raven Europe
Autosteering system is installed, a Pressure
Transducer (4 –20 mA) is mounted.
Select this transducer in the dropdown list.

Make sure this Disengage typ is in the box.
Press next step.

The screen as in the right figure appears.
After pressing the button, The Disengage
pressure is being calibrated. Make sure the
machine is on a flat surface and wheels can
move without causing damage.
Press the ‘Start’ button.

The disengage sensor is being calibrated.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
The first few secons, do not touch the
steering wheel!

After a few seconds, the instructions change
from not touching to turn the steering wheel
at a typical rate.
When this instruction shows, turn the
steering wheel at a normal speed from left to
right and back again. Do not stop steering
until the next step pops up.

After the steering, the next screen appears.
Stop steering. The Disenage Pressure is now
set at a calibrated value. When the
disengage status is green, the system is able
to autosteer.

When steering the steering wheel, the
disengage status should move to red. This
means in practice, the autosteer shuts off
when turning the steering wheel at this
typical rate. It is possible to change the
calibrated value by pressing on the value
and enter another value.
Press next step.

A summary of the calibration is shown. Press
the checkmark to enter the main screen of
the UT from the ISO Raven Steering
Controller.

This is the main menu of the UT from the
ISO Raven Steering Controller.
Press on the settings button (button with the
gears), in the right side of the menu.

The Profile name is now standard on ‘Front
Steered Tractor’.
The name of this Profile can be changed to
the right name by pressing on ‘Change
Profile’.

The name is changed to Claas now.

Open the tab with the steer in it (see figure).
After that, press on ‘Wheel Control Settings’.

Press and hold the MIN button and look at
the value at Wheel Velocity. The minimum
steering speeds for as well left as right
should be around (-) 0,4 deg/sec.

Higher or lower the Min steering percentage
by pressing on the –or +sign next to the
percentage. After adjusting, press MIN again
and watch the Wheel Velocity. When this is
around 0,4 deg/sec, leave it at this value.
Most likely this will be around 17 till 20
percent.
Do this for left and right and press the
checkmark on the bottom.

Go to the button with the satellite. Change
the GPS shutdown Timer from 0 to 1.
With this setting the receiver is powered on
for an hour when the CR7 is shut down. So it
keeps its accuracy.

When pressing the steering wheel button at
the top, information for the steering status is
shown. All statuses must be green except the
Resume Switch Status.
When pressing the Remote Go button (if
attached) this one should blink green.

When pressing the GPS button at the top,
information for the GPS is shown. The status
must be converged. The Current Accuracy is
the relative accuracy, which means accuracy
after one day. Pass to pass accuracy is not
shown.
