Important:Beforeproceeding,ensurethatyouhavereadandunderstoodthewarningsand
cautionsprovidedintheChapter1Importantinformationsectionofthisdocument.

Whenselectingalocationforyourwindtransduceritisimportanttoconsideranumberoffactors.
hetransducer'slocationmustensurethat:
•itisinstalledfacingforwards.
•itisinstalledonahorizontalsurface(Ifasurfacee.g.masttop,isotherwisesuitablebutnot
horizontal,makeupasuitablewedgedpiecetoprovidethenecessaryhorizontalsurface).
•itisinstalledashighaspossibleandawayfromanyequipmentwhichmayshieldthetransduceror
otherwisedisturbtheairflowtothetransducer.
•theremustalsobeaviablerouteforthetransducer’scabletoberoutedtothedisplayorconverter
itistobeconnectedto.
•thevaneandcupscanspinfreely.
•thereissufficientaccessforinstallationandservicing.

1.Decideonthecableroutingoptionthatsuitsyourinstallation.
2.Markthemountingsurfacebasedonyourcableroutingoption:
i.Option1—Placethebaseoftheunitinthedesiredlocation,withtheconnectionendfacing
directlyforwards,andmarkthepositionofthemountingholes.
ii.Option2—Usethesuppliedmountingtemplatetomarkthepositionofthemountingholes
andthecablehole .
3.Drillholesinthemountingsurfacebasedonyourchosencableroutingoption:
i.Option1—Drillaholeateachofthe2mountingholelocations.
ii.Option2—Drillaholeateachofthe2mountingholelocationsandan8mmholeforthe
cablerouting.
4.Unreeltheunit’scablefromthespindleitissuppliedon.
5.Ifoption2hasbeenchosenoryouneedtousethejunctionbox,youmayneedtoremovethe
spadeterminalsfromtheendofthecabletofeedthecablethroughtheholeinthemounting
surface.
6.Usingtheprovidedfixingssecuretheunit’sbasetothemountingsurface,ensuringthatthecable
doesnotgetsquashedbetweenthebaseandthemountingsurface.
7.Removetheprotectivecapfromtheconnectorinthebase,ensuringitstaysattachedtothebase.
8.Ensuringcorrectconnectororientation,insertthewindvaneassemblyintothebase.
9.Slidethelockingcollardownthearmtowardsthebase.
10.ightenthelockingcollarusingonehandandturningclockwiseuntiltight.
11.Slidetherubbercoverdownthearmandfittotheendofthelockingcollar.

12.Usetheretainingcliptosecurethearmofthewindvane
.
13.R outethecablebacktothedisplay,usingthejunctionboxifrequired.
14.Ifyouhadtoremovethespadeterminalsthennewspadeterminals(notsupplied)mustbe
fittedtoeachwire.
15.Connectthespadeterminalstotherelevantconnectorsonthebackofthedisplay.
Mountingthejunctionbox
hejunctionboxcanbemountedusingthesuppliedscrewsordoublesidedadhesivepads.
hejunctionboxshouldbemountedbelowdecks,closetothecableentrypoint.
1. omountthejunctionboxusingthefixingsscrews(supplied)followthestepsbelow:
i.Holdthejunctionboxagainstthemountingsurfaceatthedesiredlocation.
ii.Markthelocationofthemountingholesonthemountingsurface.
iii.Drill2holesinthemountingsurfaceatthemarkedlocations.
iv.Holdingthejunctionboxinplace,securetothemountingsurfaceusingthesuppliedscrews.
2.omountthejunctionboxusingthedoublesidedpads(supplied)followthestepsbelow:
i.Removethebackingfromonesideofthedoublesidedadhesivepads
ii.Evenlyspacetheadhesivepadsandsticktotherearofthejunctionbox.
iii.Removethebackingfromtheoppositesideoftheadhesivepads.
iv.Holdthejunctionboxagainstthemountingsurfaceatthedesiredlocation.
v.Applyfirmpressuretothefrontofthejunctionboxtoensurethepadsadherethejunctionbox
tothemountingsurface.
3.Feedthenecessarycablesthroughthegrommetsinthejunctionbox.
4.Connecttherelevantwirestogetherinsidethejunctionboxusingthesuppliedterminalblock.
5.Placethelidontothejunctionbox.
6.Usethescrewsprovidedtosecurethelidtothejunctionbox.
