1. Play/pause -- Plays CD, or pauses during playback.
2. Stop -- stops CD playback.
3. Skip backward -- skips to the previous track(remote only).
4. Skip forward -- skips to the next track
5. B. Boost -- Press to activate Bass Boost./Surround function.
6. Vol+/Vol- -- increases/decreases volume level.
7. Mode -- toggles among repeat / random/ intro mode.
8. Memory -- selects display mode (time elapsed / remaining time)
activates program mode (at CD stop mode only)
9. Control -- slides to HOLD position to lock keys function (no
signal will be displayed)
BASS BOOST
1. Play/pause -- Plays CD, or pauses during playback.
2. Stop -- stops CD playback.
3. Skip forward -- skips to the next track.
4. Bass Boost--activates Bass Boost/surround sound function.
5. Vol+/Vol- -- increases/decreases volume level (from 0 to 30)
6. Phones -- jack for headphones/optical out.
7. Control -- jack for remote control.
8. Recharge indicator -- light on when charging batteries.
9. Open -- slides to open the door.
10. Hold -- locks keys on the main unit, a signal will be dis-
played when lock mode is ON.

Program
Note: the CD player must be in Stop mode.
1. Press memory button on the remote .
2. Select the track to be stored by pressing or .
3. Press memory again to confirm and store.
4. Repeat steps 2-3 to store other tracks.
5. Press play button to listen to your programmed songs.
Note: you can program up to 24 tracks.
To cancel your program, press and hold the Mode button when in
stop mode. Erase will appear on the display.
Program edit
1. Press and hold the MEMORY button when in stop mode.
2. Display shows “e.g.13 E_01”, rightmost number shows the program
number, leftmost number shows the track number, “E” indicates it is
in edit mode.
3. Press or to change the track number.
4. Press MEMORY to accept and move to next program number.
5. To delete a program number, select track 00 and press MEMORY.
6 Repeat steps 3-5 to edit other tracks.
7. Press PLAY button to listen to your programmed songs.

1. Replay the entire disc;
2. Replay the current track;
3. Random playback each track on disc once;
4. Repeat random tracks.

6. Back to standard playback.
Intro mode
1. Press mode repeatedly until “Scan” signal is displayed, the unit
will play the first 10 seconds of each track.
Smart Resume
When you stop CD play and power off the unit, or if CD compart-
ment lid is opened, Smart Resume is automatically activated. It
stores all the current settings and modes: current track, Shuffle, time
display, Mode (Repeat/Repeat All/Program), volume, bass boost and
surround When play mode is on again, the unit RESUMES to the set-
tings and plays the last track you listen to.
Note: If a different CD is inserted, playback will start from the first
track; if you press STOP to return to stop mode, then press PLAY
again without powering off the unit, the unit will play from track
one.

Listening to a Compact Disc
1. Slide the OPEN switch to the right to open the door. Insert a
disc and press lightly on the centre to lock. Close the door.
2. Press PLAY/PAUSE button, then the total number of tracks and
time of the CD will be displayed on the remote.
3. CD starts to play back.
4. You can skip to next track by pressing the button.

The JOGGABLE SHOCK PROTECTION system prevents sound inter-
ruptions when impacts or vibrations occur, and this function is
always ON, in order to provide uninterrupted playback and preserve
batteries.
Note: the anti-shock function will be automatically disabled when
optical output is connected.

Troubleshooting Tips
No power, does not work?
• Batteries may be inserted
incorrectly.
• Batteries may be empty.
Recharge (only Ni-Cd/Ni-MH
battery) or replace new bat-
teries.
• Connection may be loose if
using AC/DC transformer.
• HOLD button may be acti-
vated.
Disc cannot be played?
• Disc may not be inserted
correctly with label side fac-
ing upward.
• CD-RW (or CD-R) disc may not
be recorded properly.
Skipping tracks or bad sound
quality?
• Disc may be dirty or scratched
badly.
• Disc lens may be dirty and
need cleaning.
• There may be strong magnetic
fields (e.g. too close to TV) near
the unit.

Recharge function
To charge Ni-Cd/Ni-MH batteries (not included):
1. Insert 2 rechargeable batteries in the main unit compart-
ment.
2. Connect the main adaptor.
3. Make sure the HOLD switch is off.
4. Press STOP to start battery charging.
5. An animated battery logo will be displayed when charg-
ing is in progress.(recharge indicator light on)
6. When the batteries are fully charged, “Full” will be dis-
played, and charging will automatically stop.
7. You can also stop recharge operation by pressing PLAY
button/ removing the AC adaptor.
Attention: To avoid battery leakage, please do not activate
the recharge function using non-rechargeable batteries.
If error occurs during the recharge process, “bAtErr” will be
displayed. For example, non-rechargeable batteries are
inserted into the unit by mistake.
AC OUTLET POWER SUPPLY
You can power your CD player with the supplied AC/DC Adapter.
Refer to the table for details of the operating voltage of the
Adapter supplied with your unit.
AC/DC Adapter is purposed for indoor use in dry rooms only.
Remove the jack from the device to use it with the batteries.
Note : Power is fed to the unit even when it is not function-
ing. To cut the power supply off, the AC/DC Adapter must
be unplugged.

US LIMITED WARRANTY
What your warranty covers:
•
Defects in materials or workmanship.
For how long after your purchase:
•
One year from date of purchase.
The warranty period for rental units begins with the first rental or 45 days
from date of shipment to the rental firm, whichever comes first.
What we will do:
•
Provide you with a new, or at our option, a refurbished unit. The exchange
unit is under warranty for the remainder of the original product’s warranty
period.
•
Proof of purchase in the form of a bill of sale or receipted invoice which is
evidence that the product is within the warranty period must be presented to
obtain warranty service. For rental firms, proof of first rental is also required.
How to make a warranty claim:
•
Properly pack your unit. Include any cables, etc., which were originally pro-
vided with the product. We recommend using the original carton and pack-
ing materials.
•
Include evidence of purchase date such as the bill of sale. Also print your
name and address and a description of the defect. Send via standard UPS or
its equivalent to:

Insure your shipment for of loss or damage. Thomson accepts no liability in
case of damage or loss en route to Thomson.

Pay any charges billed to you by the Exchange Center for service not covered

A new or refurbished unit will be shipped to you freight prepaid.
What your warranty does not cover:
•
Customer instruction. (Your Owner’s Manual provides information regard-
ing operating Instructions and user controls. For additional information, ask
your dealer.)
•
Installation and set-up service adjustments.
•
Batteries.
•
Damage from misuse or neglect.
•
Products which have been modified or incorporated into other products.
•
Products purchased or serviced outside the USA.
•
Acts of nature, such as but not limited to lightning damage.

MORE INFORMATION
• Do not store CDs in damp areas.
• Do not expose CDs to high temperatures.
• Do not put any tape or adhesives on either side of the disc.
• You should avoid leaving the CD door open. Dust is liable
to impair performance of the laser optical unit.
• Do not use your set immediately after transport from a
cold place to a warm place : there may be condensation prob-
lems.
• Do not touch the playing surface. Make sure that you keep
your set away from water and high temperatures.
• If you do not use your set on battery power for more than
one month, we advise you to take out all the batteries.
• To prevent personal injury, do not reverse any battery and
do not mix battery types.
• Discard leaking batteries immediately. Leaking batteries
can cause skin burns or other personal injury.
• Prolonged use of the CD player at full volume can damage
the user’s ear.
MAINTENANCE
Clean the player with a soft cloth, or a damp chamois leather.
Never use solvents.
Notes on CD-R/RW Discs
• CD-R/RW discs recorded by personal computers or some CD-
R/RW recorders may not be played properly due to varied
quality of software and recorder.
• Do not load an unrecorded CD-R/RW disc into the unit.
This may take a longer time to read the disc.

Thomson multimedia Ltd. warrants to the purchaser or gift recipient that if any manufactur-
ing defect becomes apparent in this product within 1 year from the original date of pur-
chase, it will be replaced free of charge, including return transportation.
This warranty does not include damage to the product resulting from accidents, misuse or
leaking batteries.
Should your product not perform properly during the warranty period, either:
1. Return it to the selling dealer with proof of purchase for replacement,

2. Remove the batteries (where applicable), and pack product complete with accessories in
