2. Initialconnectingand Setting
2.1. Connectthephone
2.1.1. Connecttonetwork
Step1:ConnecttheIPPhonetothecorporateIPtelephony network.Beforeyouconnectthe
phonetothenetwork, pleasecheckifyournetworkcanworknormally.
You candothisinoneoftwoways, dependingonhowyourworkspace issetup.
Directnetworkconnection—bythismethod,youneedatleastoneavailableEthernetportinyour
workspace.UsetheEthernetcableinthepackagetoconnectWANporton thebackofyourphone
totheEthernetportinyourworkspace. Since thisVoIPPhonehasrouterfunctionality,whether
youhaveabroadbandrouterornot, youcanmakedirectnetworkconnect.Thefollowingtwo
figuresareforyourreference.
Sharednetworkconnection—UsethismethodifyouhaveasingleEthernetportinyour
workspace withyourdesktopcomputeralreadyconnected toit. First, disconnecttheEthernet
cablefromthecomputerandattachit totheWANporton thebackofyourphone. Next,usethe
EthernetcableinthepackagetoconnectLANportonthebackofyourphonetoyourdesktop
computer. YourIPPhonenowsharesanetworkconnectionwithyourcomputer. Thefollowing
figureisforyourreference.
Step2:Connectthehandsettothehandsetportbythehandsetcableinthepackage.
Step3:connectthepowersupplyplugtotheAC5Vadapterportonthebackofthephone.Use
thepowercabletoconnectthepowersupplytoastandardpoweroutletinyourworkspace.

Step4:pushtheon/off switchonthebackofthephonetotheonside, thenthephone’sLCD
screendisplays Initializingwait logon”. Later, aready screentypicallydisplaysthedate, time.
If yourLCDscreendisplaysdifferentinformationfromtheabove,youneedrefertothenext
section Initialsetting”tosetyournetworkonlinemode.
If yourVoIPphoneregistersintocorporateIPtelephonyServer, yourphoneisreadytouse.
2.1.2. Poweradaptorconnection
Makesurethatthepoweryouuseiscomplywiththeparametersofpoweradaptor.
1. Plugpoweradaptortopowersocket.
2. Plugpoweradaptor’sACoutputtotheAC5VportofRS530 tostartup.
3. Therewill bedisplayedblacklineand initializing... wait logon...”onthescreen. After
finishingstartup, phonewill showgreeting, currentdateandtimeandsoforth.
4. If phonehasregisteredtotheserver, youcanplace oranswercalls.
2.2. BasicInitialization
RS530 isprovidedwithaplentyoffunctionsandparametersforconfiguration. Userneedssome
networkand VoIPknowledgesothatusercouldunderstandthemeaningsofparameters. Inorder
tomakeuserusethephonemoreeasilyandconvenient, therearebasicconfigurationsintroduced
whichismandatorytoensurephonecalls.
2.2.1. Networksettings
Makesurethatnetworkisconnectedalready beforesettingnetworkofphone.RS530 usesDHCP
togetWANIPconfigurations, sophonecouldaccess tonetworkaslongasthereisDHCPserver
init.If thereisno DHCPserveravailable, phonehastobechangedWANnetworksettingto
StaticIPorPPPoE.
Note: duringsettingnetworkparameterinmenu, Pleasedon’tpress the key,orelse
thephonewill notsavetheconfigurationandwill returntostandbyinterface.
Setting PPPoEmode(forADSLconnection)
1. GetPPPoEaccountand passwordfirst.
2. Press , and press twice, screenwill show Network”. Thenpress Soft2 (Enter)
or"OK", theLCDscreenwilldisplay WAN”.
3. Press Soft2 (Enter), thenpress , choose PPPoE.
4. Press Soft1 (Edit), thescreenwill display Account”. Thescreenwill showthecurrentaccount
information. Press Soft1 (Del)todeleteit, theninputyourPPPoEaccountandpress Soft2 (Save).
With saved”displayed, screenwill jump to password settings,

5. Press Soft2 (Edit)again, theninputyourPPPoEpasswordandpress Soft2 (OK), With Saved”
displayed, screenwill displaythecurrent password:******, and confirm: youneedinputthe
passwordagain, afterconfirm,press soft2 (OK)tosavetheAccountandpassword.
6. Press Soft3 (Quit)once returnto NetMode”. Press Soft2 (Save)thescreenwill show Saved”
and thenjump toshowthecurrentnetmode.
7. Press orSoft3 (Quit)thrice returntostandby, atthistimethephoneistryingto
changetoPPPoEmode.Press forcheckingthestatus.Ifthescreenshows
Negotiating…”it showsthatthephoneistryingtoaccesstothePPPoEServer;ifit showsanIP
address, thenthephonehasalready getIPwithPPPoE.
Setting StaticIPmode(staticADSL/Cable, orno PPPoE/DHCPnetwork)
1. Preparethenetwork’sparametersfirst, suchasIPAddress, Netmask, Default Gatewayand
DNSserverIPaddress.If youdon’tknowthisinformation,pleasecontacttheservice provider
ortechnicianofnetwork.
2. Press , thenpress twice, chooses Network”. Press "OK" orSoft2 (Enter),
LCDscreenwill display WAN”.
3. Press "OK" orSoft2 (Enter), thenchoose Static”.
4. Press Soft1Edit)and screenwill show IP”, thenpress Soft1 (Del)todelete.InputyourIP
address andpress Soft2 (Save)tosavewhatyouinput. After Saved”shown, thescreenwill
jump toshowthe Netmask information.
5. Press Soft1 (Del)todelete. InputyourNetmaskand press Soft2 (Save). After Saved”shown,
thescreenwill jump toshowtheGatewayinformation
6. Press Soft1 (Del)todelete,Inputyourgatewayandpress Soft2 (Save). After Saved”shown,
thescreenwill jump toshowtheDNSinformation.
7. Press Soft1 (Del)todelete. InputyourDNSserveraddress andpress Soft2 (Save). After
Saved”shown, thescreenwill returntoshowIPinformation.
8. Press Soft3 (Quit)once, thescreenshows”NetMode”.thecursorstayat <>Static”;with
Soft2(Save)pressed,thescreenshows Saved”and then showsthecurrentnetmode.
9. Press orSoft3 (Quit)thrice, returntomaininterface andatthistimethe
phoneistrying tochangetoStaticmode. Press button, thescreenshows
Static”.thescreenshowstheIPaddress and gatewaywhichweresetjustnow, ifthephone
coulddisplaytherighttime, it showsthatStaticIPmodetakeseffect.
SettingDHCPmode
1. Press , thenpress twice,chooses Network”. Thenpress "OK" orSoft2 (Enter),
thescreenwill show WAN”.

2. Press "OK" orSoft2 (Enter) toshow NetMode”. Select DHCP”. Press Soft2 (Save), with
saved”shown, screenwill jump toshowthecurrentnetmode.
3. Press orSoft3 (Quit)thriceback tomaininterface andatthistimephoneis
tryingtochangetoDHCPmode. Press until thephoneshows DHCP”,If the
screenshowstheIPaddress and gatewaywhichweresetjustnow, it showsthatDHCPmode
takeseffect.

3.1. Answer calls
RS530 will ringtoindicateyou whenthereiscall incoming,belowiswaystoanswercall:

Press tobegintalking. Press againtofinishtalk

Press toanswerthecall, ifthephonedetectheadsetLEDwill turntogreen, whenyoupress
againthephonechangetospeakermode. You maypress orSoft3 (Close)to
finishthecall.
lUsinghands-free insteadofhandsetduringatalk
Press and hookonthehandsetwhenyouusehandsettospeakandwanttochangetouse
hands-freetospeak. Press againtofinishtalk.
lUsinghandsetinsteadofhands-free duringatalk
Hookoff thehandsetwhenyouwanttousehands-free tospeakandwanttochangetousehandset.
Justhook ontofinishtalk.
3.2. Placecalls
lUsinghandset
Hookoff (screenwill showthecurrentusingline,oryoucouldpress keyL1-L3 toselect), after
getting dialingtone,youcouldbegintodialnumber. Afterfinishingit,press # andRS530 will
sendthenumberand call thenumber. Whenyouheararing-backtoneandscreenshowsthe
callee’snumber, it showsthatthepersonyoucalledisringing. Ifcalleeanswersthecall,you can
begintotalkandyourphonewill keepshowing callee’snumberandcountingtime. Justhang up
tofinishtalk.
lUsinghands-free
Press (screenwill showthecurrentusingline, oryoucouldpress keyL1-L3 toselect), after

getting dialingtone,youcouldbegintodialnumber. Afterfinishingit,press # andRS530 will
sendthenumberand call thenumber. Whenyouheararingbacktoneandscreenshowsthe
callee’snumber, it showsthatthepersonyoucalledisringing. Ifcalleeanswersthecall,you can
begintotalkandyourphonewill keepshowing callee’snumberandcountingtime.Press
againtofinishtalk.
lUsingdirectory
Press instand-bymode,youwill access tophonebook.Iftherearemany personsrecords
storedinthedirectory,youcanuse & toselectnumberorpress thefirstcharacter
ofthenameforsearchingthepersonwhichyouwanttocontact. Press toforward,and
press tobackward. Press Soft2 (Dial)todialthecurrentnumbershownon thescreen.
lSpeeddial
Speeddialmeansusercanmakecallsdirectlywithouthookofforusinghands-free.Usercandial
numberinstand-bymode, butfirst, userneedtoaddandedit SDialno. BypressingSoft2 (SDial)
toeditandsavethenumbertobeaSDialnumber. Inthisway,usercouldmakeacall onlypress
thenumberandSoft3 (Dial).
lMulti-linecalls
RS530 supports3 SIPlines, thatisusercoulduse3 SIPaccountstoregisterandmakecalls.
Systemwill useSIP1 asdefault linetocall.
Therearemosttwocallsatthesametime.Screenwill displaytheincomingcall numberwhen
useriskeeptalking. Youcanpress Soft1 (Answer) toacceptit, andholdthefirstone(ifyouwant
tousethisfunction,youneedenableCall Waitingofthephonefirst). UseSoft1 (Switch)toswitch
thetwocallstotalk.
3.3. Endcalls
lHangup withhandsethookon
Hookontofinishtalking.
lHangup withhands-free
Press tofinishtalkwhenphoneisinhands-free status.
Note:usercannotfinishtalkbypressing ifphoneisusedhandsettotalk.
lHangup aactivecallwith2calls
Whentherearetwocalls,usermightuseSoft1(Switch)toswitchtothecall youwanttohangup
first. Thenpress Soft3 (Close)tofinishtalk, andphonewill switchtotheothercall automatically.
Note:it isnousetopress Soft3(Close)tofinishtalk,ifthereisonlyonecurrentcall.

3.4. Call transfer
lBlind Transfer
Duringtalk,press orSoft2 (Transf), andthendialthenumberthatyouwanttotransfer
to, andfinishedby"#". Phonewill transferthecurrentcalltothethirdparty. Afterfinishing
transfer, thecall youtalktowill behangedup.UsercannotselectSIPlinewhenphonetransfers
call.
lAttendedTransfer
Duringtalk,press orSoft2 (Transf), theninputthenumberthatyouwanttotransferto
and press Soft2 (Send). Afterthatthirdpartyanswers, thenpress tocompletethetransfer.
(You needenablecall waiting andcall transferfirst).If therearetwocalls,youcanjusttalktoone,
and keepholdtotheotherone. Theonewhoiskeepholdcannotspeaktoyouorhearfromyou.
Inotherway, ifuserwantstoinvitethethirdpartyduringthecall, theycanpress Soft1 (Conf)to
makecallsmodeinconferencemode.Ifuserwantsto stopconference,usercan pressSoft1 (Split).
(Usermustenablecall waiting andthree waycall first).
Note:theserverthatuserusesmustsupportRFC3515 oritmightnotbeused
lAlertTransfer
Duringthetalk,press orSoft2 (Transf)firstly, thenpressSoft2 (Send)afterinputtingthe
numberthatyouwanttotransfer. You arewaitingforconnection, now,press orSoft2
(Transf)and thetransferwill bedone. (Tousethisfeature, you needenablecall waitingand call
transferfirst)
3.5. Call hold
Duringtalking,usercouldpress toholdthecurrentcall.Press againtoreturn
thecall orswitchthecall active.
3.6. 3-way conference call
Usercanpress Soft1 (Conf)todialtheline2 (press Soft1 (Answer) toanswerthecall directlyif
thiscall isfromline2)during talkingwithline1. Afterline2 connect,usercanpress Soft2 (Conf)
toenterintoconference mode.Tobacktoline1 fromconference,pleasepress Soft1 (Split);toend
thecall, pleasepressSoft3 (Close)orpress .

3.8. Call records
RS530 supports100 itemsofmissedcall,100 itemsofincomingcall,and 100 itemsofdialedcall.
If therecordsarefull,thenewestwillreplace theoldest.If phone’spowercutorreboot,call
recordswill bediscarded.

Press ,and screendisplays MissedCall”withthenumberand timeofmissedcall.User
canalsouse & tobrowsethemissedcall records,orpress Soft1(Option)to
