RJC-50-PREM/RJC-75-PREM Convertible Jet Pump
This pump is designed to be used with shallow wells down to 25
feet (7.6 m) and deep wells down to 90 feet (27.4 m), lower
depths at high altitudes. The pump includes an injector kit, which
consists of a cast iron injector assembly that has a nozzle and
venturi threaded into it. This injector assembly is set up for shal-
low well use. Additional venturis are included for deep well appli-
cations. Some models also include a deep well nozzle. The venturi
and nozzle are designed specifically for certain depths to
optimize performance. The injector assembly should always be replaced at the same time the pump is
replaced.
This product is covered by a Limited Warranty for a period of 3 years from the date of original purchase by

This equipment should be installed and serviced by technically qualified personnel who are familiar with
the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, equipment, and procedures. Failure to comply with
national and local electrical and plumbing codes and within Red Lion recommendations may result in elec-
trical shock or fire hazard, unsatisfactory performance, or equipment failure.
Know the product’s application, limitations, and potential hazards. Read and follow instructions carefully to
avoid injury and property damage. Do not disassemble or repair unit unless described in this manual.
Refer to product data plate(s) for additional precautions, operating instructions, and specifications.

Risk of death, personal injury, or property damage due to explosion,

• Do not use in explosive atmospheres or hazardous locations as classified by the NEC, ANSI/NFPA70.
• Do not handle a pump or pump motor with wet hands or when standing on a wet or damp surface or in water until the
unit is unplugged or electrically disconnected.
• Do not use to pump flammable, combustible, or explosive fluids such as gasoline, fuel oil, kerosene, etc.
• When a pump is in its application, do not touch the motor, pipes, or water until the unit is unplugged or electrically dis-
connected.
• If the power disconnect is out of sight, lock it in the open position and tag it to prevent unexpected application of power.
• If the disconnect panel is not accessible in an emergency, contact the power company to stop service.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Specifications

High voltages and system pressure capable of causing severe injury or
death are present in this unit.
• To reduce risk of electrical shock, disconnect power before working on or around the system. More than one disconnect
switch may be required to de-energize the equipment before servicing.
• Release all system pressure prior to installation, service, relocation, or maintenance.
• Be certain that this pump is connected to a circuit equipped with a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) device if required
by code.
• Wire pump system for correct voltages. This pump has a dual voltage motor (115/230 V). The voltage on the pump must
match the voltage from the power source. Incorrect wiring may cause fire.
• Check local electrical and building codes before installation. The installation must be in accordance with their regulations
as well as the most recent National Electrical Code (NEC), Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), and Canadian Elec-
trical Code (CEC).
• Motor must be grounded and terminal cover in place to reduce shock hazard.
• Do not remove priming plug, casing, or suction or discharge fittings when pump is hot. Hot water or vapor inside could be
pressurized and could cause severe burns.
• Do not use this pump for pumping sea water, beverages, acids, chemical solutions, or any other liquid that promotes cor-
rosion as this can result in damage to the pump.
• This pump has not been investigated for use in swimming pool or marine areas.
• Always use a properly selected and installed pressure relief valve to prevent damage and injury from over-pressurization
of the system when required by local codes.
Risk of bodily injury, electric shock, or equipment damage.
• This equipment must not be used by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities, or lacking in
experience and expertise, unless supervised or instructed. Children may not use the equipment, nor may they play with
the unit or in the immediate vicinity.
• Equipment can start automatically. Always unplug the pump power cord and disconnect the electrical power before ser-
vicing the pump or control.
• Do not run the pump dry. If run dry, the surface temperature of the pump will rise to a high temperature that could cause
skin burns if touched, and will cause serious damage to the pump.
• Operation of this equipment requires detailed installation and operation instructions provided in this manual for use with
this product. Read entire manual before starting installation and operation. End User should receive and retain manual for
future use.
• Do not wear loose clothing, jewelry, or anything that may be caught in the rotating parts. Tie up long hair and remove jew-
elry.
• Wear safety glasses while installing or performing maintenance on the pump.
• Keep safety labels clean and in good condition.
• This pump has been evaluated for use with water only.
• The pump should only be used with liquids compatible with pump component materials. If the pump is used with liquids
incompatible with the pump components, the liquid can cause failure to the electrical insulation system resulting in elec-
trical shock.
• The pump motor is equipped with an automatic resetting thermal protector and may restart unexpectedly. Thermal Pro-
tector tripping indicates motor overloading or overheating.
Risk of damage to pump or other equipment.
• Periodically inspect pump and system components. Regularly check piping for weakness or wear, making certain that all
connections are secure.
• Schedule and perform routine maintenance as required. Refer to “Maintenance” on page 9.

Changing the Voltage
This pump comes with a dual voltage motor (115/230 V) and
is factory set for 230 V. Ensure the voltage indicator matches
the voltage at the power source. Do not connect to voltage
other than that shown.
IMPORTANT: Ensure the motor is grounded and the
motor terminal cover is in place.
1. Disconnect the power supply to the pump.
2. Remove the cover from the motor terminal box.
3. Press the black voltage change device onto both terminals
with the white arrow directly aligned with the correct voltage
on the terminal board.
IMPORTANT: Do not move the white lead wires on L1
and L2.
4. Reassemble the terminal box cover.
Wiring the Pump
1. Employ an electrician to do the wiring.
2. Use a separate circuit from the distribution panel with
properly sized protection to power the pump.
3. Install a properly fused disconnect switch in the line.
• Use the correct gauge of cable to carry the load.
IMPORTANT: Undersized wire between the motor
and the power source will adversely limit the start-
ing and load-carrying abilities of the motor.
4. Wire the connections.
• Connect the power lines to the pressure switch terminals marked L1 and L2.
• Very long leads will require a larger cable.
• For added safety, ensure the pump and motor is grounded to the ground in the distribution
panel or to the well casing, if metal.
5. For driven wells, water levels may be too low to pump at times. Employ an electrician to replace the
pressure switch with a low pressure cut-off switch to prevent pump damage.
Risk of severe injury or death by electrical shock, or damage to system.
• Always disconnect the electrical power before touching the pump.
• A ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) is required.
• If the power cord is damaged, it must only be replaced by qualified personnel.
• Use copper conductors only.

Well Installation
For pumping depths less than 25 feet, follow a shallow well set-up. For pumping depths of 20-90 feet,
implement a deep well set-up. Refer to “Typical Installations” on page 3.
Shallow Well
1. Place the red rubber gasket over the venturi.
• Make sure the hole sizes match.
2. Attach the injector assembly to the front of the pump casing, using the provided washers and bolts.
• Be sure the “bottom” label is at the bottom of the pump.
NOTE: Any extra venturis and nozzles in the injector kit are not needed for this application.
Driven Wells
Refer to “Typical Installations” on page 3.
1. Drive the well point into the ground.
• Refer to the well point manufacturer’s instructions.
• Ensure the well point is deep enough to bore through the water bearing formation below the
water table but does not exceed 25 feet (7.6 m) of depth.
• If an individual well point does not supply enough water, consider a multi-point installation.
2. Install enough piping to reach the water source and leave 1 foot (30 cm) of protruding pipe.
• The rise pipe should be galvanized in approximately 5 feet (1.5 m) sections.
3. Attach a 1¼-inch 90° elbow to the end of each pipe.
4. Attach a 1¼-inch check valve to the 1¼-inch galvanized nipple.
5. Attach a 1¼-inch male PVC adapter to the 1¼-inch check valve.
Drilled Wells
1. Find the total length needed for 1¼-inch PVC pipe and coupling(s).
• Measure the distance from the top to bottom of the well and subtract 5 feet.
2. Assemble the foot valve, 1¼-inch male PVC adapter, and well piping.
IMPORTANT: Ensure any burrs or shavings from cutting the pipes are completely removed to pre-
vent damage to the pump.
3. Firmly clamp the unfinished pipe end with a pipe clamp 1 foot (30 cm) from the top of the pipe.
4. Lower the foot valve end of the piping assembly into the well.
5. Install the well seal and a well vent tube.
• Ensure the foot valve is suspended 4 feet (1.2 m) from the well bottom.
• The 1¼-inch pipe should extend 1 foot (30 cm) above the seal.
• The 1-inch pipe should extend 10 inches (25 cm) above the seal.
6. Attach a 1¼-inch 90° elbow to the end of each pipe.
Deep Well
1. Install a 1¼-inch foot valve to a 1¼-inch close nipple, then attach the nipple to the bottom of the
injector assembly.
• The bottom of the injector assembly is the end with the single hole.
2. Thread a 1-inch x 6-inch NPT into the smaller hole of the injector assembly.
3. Thread a 1¼-inch male PVC adapter over the venturi tube and into the larger hole of the injector
assembly.

4. Find the total length needed for 1 ¼- and 1-inch PVC pipe and couplings.
• Measure the distance from the top to bottom of the well and subtract 5 feet.
5. Assemble the 1 ¼- and 1-inch PVC pipes and couplings.
• The 1-inch PVC pipe should be cut two inches shorter than the 1¼-inch pipe.
IMPORTANT: Ensure any burrs or shavings from cutting the pipes are completely removed to pre-
vent damage to the pump.
6. Firmly clamp the unfinished pipe end with a pipe clamp 1 foot (30 cm) from the top of the pipe.
7. Lower the foot valve end of the piping assembly into the well.
8. Install the well seal and a well vent tube.
• Ensure the foot valve is suspended 4 feet (1.2 m) from the well bottom.
• The 1 ¼- inch pipe should extend 1 foot (30 cm) above the seal.
• The 1-inch pipe should extend 10 inches (25 cm) above the seal.
9. Attach a 90° elbow to the end of each pipe.
Pump Location
• Install the pump indoors in a clean, dry, and ventilated location shielded from direct sun and precip-
itation.
• Provide adequate room for future servicing, protection from freezing temperatures, flooding, and
equipment drainage.
• Bolt unit down evenly on a good foundation, preferably concrete, to prevent unnecessary stresses
from pump movement.
• Install as close as possible to water source to minimize suction piping length.
• Keep motor-operating area as dry as possible.
Piping Connections
Well Piping to Pump
1. Install a pressure gauge into the ½-inch NPT hole on the front of the casing, opposite the pressure
switch.
IMPORTANT: For driven wells, have an electrician replace the pressure switch with a low pressure
cut-off.
• A pressure gauge is not necessary for all applications. Install if included or desired.
2. Attach a 1¼-inch male PVC adapter to the top hole in pump casing.
IMPORTANT: Do not over-tighten.
3. Install piping between the pump and the well piping.

Pump to Tank and Service Line
1. Turn off the main water supply and the power at the main breaker.
2. Open a nearby faucet to release the water pressure in the system. Once all water and pressure is
released, turn off the faucet.
3. Modify the existing plumbing as required to allow for installation of the pump system.
IMPORTANT: Never install a check valve between the pump and the tank.
• The pump suction is 1¼ inch FNPT and the discharge is 1 inch FNPT fittings. Depending on the
size of the piping, adapters may need to be installed.
• Seal and tighten the threads of the suction and discharge openings on the pump with PTFE
tape or thread compound. Do not over-tighten the connections as this could crack the fittings.
• Make sure all joints are airtight as even a pinhole can prevent proper operation of the pump.
• Ensure the piping is as short and direct as possible.
• Refer to “Typical Installations” on page 3 for suggested routings.
IMPORTANT: Ensure any burrs or shavings from cutting the pipes are completely removed to
prevent damage to the pump.
4. Install a pressure relief valve near the discharge rated to handle pump flow at 75 psi.
• Locate the relief valve near the discharge of the pump and in an area with adequate drainage.
• Orient the relief valve so that the valve will not spray toward the pump or other electrical
devises.
IMPORTANT: For well point installations, also attach a restrictive valve prior to the tank.
5. Add piping and coupling to join up to the service line.
IMPORTANT: Ensure the friction loss will never exceed 20 feet (6 m) of head.
6. For systems with a tank, make sure the pre-charge pressure of the tank is 28 psi, as this pump’s
pre-charge pressure (or the pressure at which the pump will start) is 30 psi.
7. Add unions and valves to allow system service without disabling the complete water supply.
Risk of bodily injury, property damage, or damage to system by pressurized
fluids.
• Do not install this product if incoming water pressure is greater than 75 psi. Serious damage to
plumbing can occur.
• A pressure relief valve (not included) rated to handle full pump flow at 75 psi should be installed in
the system to prevent personal injury or property damage.
Risk of damage to pump or other equipment.
• Do not apply power to the system until the pump is primed. Do not run the pump dry, which can
cause overheating and damage the impeller and seals. This will void the warranty.
• Do not use open-style wrenches to loosen plugs. Plugs may become damaged and difficult to
remove.
• Red Lion is not responsible for personal injury or property damage due to improper installation.

Priming with an In-line Check Valve
1. Open the discharge valve on the service line and nearby tap to monitor the water flow.
2. Remove the vent and priming plugs with a wrench.
3. Fully open the control valve.
4. Pour approximately 1 quart (1 liter) of clean water for every 3 feet (1 m) of suction line through the
priming plug opening until water flows out of the vent hole.
5. Insert and hand-tighten the vent plug.
6. Fill the pump until water flows out of the priming hole.
7. Insert and hand-tighten the priming plug.
8. Start the pump.
• If a tap is visible, you may see a short discharge of water for about 5 to 10 seconds.
9. Run the pump for 2 minutes. Shut off.
10. Repeat steps 2 - 9 for every 5 feet (1.5 m) of suction line until the water is pumping continuously.
• Priming will be repeated about 2 - 6 times.
• If the pump does not draw water within 8 tries, shut it off and check the suction line for leaks.
11. Close the control valve slowly until the pump delivers maximum capacity as observed from an open
tap nearest the pump.
12. Firmly tighten the vent and priming plugs with a wrench.
Priming with a Foot Valve
1. Open the discharge valve on the service line and nearby tap to monitor the water flow.
2. Remove the vent and priming plugs with a wrench.
3. Pour approximately 1 quart (1 liter) of clean water for every 3 feet (1 m) of suction line through the
priming plug opening until water flows out of the vent hole.
NOTE: If the suction line does not fill, follow the directions for an in-line check valve.
4. Insert and hand-tighten the vent plug.
5. Fill the pump until water flows out of the priming hole.
6. Insert and hand-tighten the priming plug.
7. Start the pump and ensure it pumps continuously.
• If the pump is primed correctly, it should start pumping water immediately.
• If water does not continuously pump within 2 minutes, repeat steps 3 - 7.
• If a second priming does not give a continuous flow, stop the pump and check the suction line
for leaks.
8. Close the control valve slowly until the pump delivers maximum capacity as observed from an open
tap nearest the pump.
9. Firmly tighten the vent and priming plugs with a wrench.
Risk of damage to pump or other equipment.
• Pumping sand or other abrasives can damage the pump and void the warranty.
• If pump is run dry, it may damage pump and void the warranty.

Priming for a Double Pipe Installation
1. Open the discharge valve on the service line and nearby tap to monitor the water flow.
2. Remove the vent and priming plugs with a wrench.
3. Pour approximately 2 quarts (2 liters) of clean water for every 3 feet (1 m) of suction line through
the priming plug opening until water flows out of the vent hole.
4. Insert and hand-tighten the vent plug.
5. Fill the pump until water flows out of the priming hole.
6. Insert and hand-tighten the priming plug.
7. Close the control valve.
8. Start the pump.
• If the pump is primed correctly, it should start pumping water immediately.
9. Slowly open the control valve until the pump delivers maximum capacity.
• Observe the water flow from the nearest open tap.
10. Observe the pressure gauge on the pump case and adjust the control valve until flow and pressure
are stabilized and the gauge reads approximately 25 psi.
• Water should be pumping continuously.
11. Firmly tighten the vent and priming plugs with a wrench.
MAINTENANCE
Periodic Maintenance
Inspect the pump monthly.
1. Make sure the pump is still securely bolted to the foundation.
NOTE: The pump can be maintained and inspected without removing the flow control device.
2. Ensure that there is adequate clearance from combustible materials, shelving, cabinets, leaves,
debris, etc.
3. Ensure the motor is securely wired into a proper GFCI-protected circuit.
• The pump should shut off when the test switch is pressed during operation.
• Reset the GFCI by pressing the reset switch.
4. Periodically inspect system for leaks and performance.
• Replace seals or impeller as required. Refer to “Replacing Mechanical Seals” on page 10.
• When replacing pump, always replace the injector assembly.
5. Clean the exterior of the pump with a solution of vinegar and water, if needed.
Risk of severe injury or death by electrical shock or pressurized fluids.
• Always unplug the power cord in addition to removing the fuse or shutting off the circuit breaker
before working on the pump or control.
• Relieve system pressure before service.
• This product should be serviced by qualified electrical or plumbing personnel only.
• Pump may become hot during operation. Allow pump to cool before servicing.

Draining
Drain the system if it will be subjected to temperatures below 32 °F (0°C) or if maintenance is to be
performed.
1. Disconnect power from the system.
2. Open a tap in the water system to release the pressure.
3. Remove the drain and priming plugs from the pump casing.
4. Remove the pressure tank drain plug (if applicable).
5. Allow ample time for the system to drain before reinstalling the plugs.
Replacing Mechanical Seals
Disassembly
1. Disconnect pump from the power source.
2. Open a tap in the water system to release
the pressure.
3. Remove the drain (9) and prime plugs to
allow the pump to drain.
4. Disconnect the tubing leading to the pressure
switch.
5. Remove the bolts (1) and casing (2).
6. Pry the diffuser (3) out of the casing, using
two slotted screwdrivers for leverage.
7. Remove the cap (4) and insert a screwdriver
to prevent the shaft from turning.
8. Unscrew the impeller (5).
• The impeller has a right-hand thread.
• If the impeller cannot be turned by hand,
insert a flat object into the impeller vane.
9. Slip the rotating seal (6) off the shaft.
10. Remove the seal plate (7).
11. Remove the ceramic seal seat (8) from the seal plate.
12. Inspect all parts and replace any that are worn or damaged.
Risk of damage to pump or other property.
• Only qualified persons should perform maintenance on electrical or mechanical devices.
• Care must be taken not to damage the motor fan or cover.
• Do not use petroleum-based cleaners or lubricants.
• Care must be taken not to contaminate the seal faces.

Reassembly
1. Clean all parts thoroughly with dish soap and water before assembling, including the rubber cap on
the ceramic seal (8).
NOTE: If the pump remains out of service longer than one week, the components must be
installed dry and without lubrication.
2. Push the ceramic seal into the adapter with the smooth surface of the seal facing outwards.
• Wear gloves to avoid contaminating the seal face.
3. Install the seal plate (7) on the motor.
4. Lubricate the rotating seal (6) with soapy water and slip it onto the shaft with the carbon ring
towards the ceramic seal.
5. Replace the impeller (5) and the diffuser (3).
6. Replace the casing (2), making sure that the gasket is not damaged and is in place.
7. Reconnect the tubes to the casing and pressure switch.
8. Replace the drain and fill plugs.
9. Refer to “Operation” on page 8 to start the pump.

les outils, les équipements et les procédures appropriés. Le non-respect des codes électriques nationaux et
locaux et des recommandations de Red Lion peut entraîner un risque de choc électrique ou d’incendie, des
problèmes de performance, ou une panne de l’équipement.
Lisez et suivez attentivement les instructions pour éviter toute blessure ou tout dommage matériel. Ne
démontez pas et ne réparez pas l’appareil si ces opérations ne sont pas décrites dans le présent manuel.

débranchée ou déconnectée électriquement.
• Si le dispositif de coupure du circuit d’alimentation se situe hors site, le verrouiller en position ouverte et le consigner afin
d’empêcher toute mise sous tension inopinée.
• Si le panneau de déconnexion n'est pas accessible, contactez la compagnie d'électricité pour arrêter le service.
La haute tension et la pression du système peuvent causer des
blessures graves ou la mort.
• Pour réduire le risque de choc électrique, débranchez l’alimentation avant de travailler sur le système ou autour de celui-ci.
Plusieurs interrupteurs d’isolement peuvent être nécessaires pour décharger l’équipement avant de procéder à son entre-
tien.
• Libérez toute la pression du système avant l’installation, la réparation, le déplacement ou l’entretien.
• Assurer de brancher la pompe à un circuit protégé par un disjoncteur de défaut à la terre (GFCI) si requis par le code.
• Raccordez le système de pompe en respectant les tensions indiquées. Cette pompe a un moteur à double tension (115/230
V). La tension sur la pompe doit correspondre à la tension de la source d'alimentation. Un câblage incorrect peut provoquer
un incendie.
• Vérifiez les codes locaux d'électricité et de bâtiment avant l'installation. L'installation doit être conforme à la réglementation
ainsi qu'au NEC (Code américain de l’électricité) le plus récent et l’OSHA (loi sur la santé et la sécurité au travail des États-
Unis), et Code canadien de l’électricité.
• Le moteur doit être mis à la terre et le couvre-bornes doit être en place pour réduire les risques de choc.
• Ne retirez pas le bouchon d’amorçage, le boîtier de la pompe ou les raccords d’aspiration ou d’évacuation lorsque la pompe
est chaude. L’eau chaude ou la vapeur à l’intérieur de la pompe peut être sous pression et causer de graves brûlures.
• Ne pas utiliser la pompe pour pomper de l’eau de mer, des boissons, de l’acide, des solutions chimiques ou tout autre liquide
qui favoriserait la corrosion, ce qui pourrait endommager la pompe.
• Cette pompe n’a pas été mise à l’étude pour une utilisation en piscine ou en milieu marin.
• Lorsque les codes locaux l’exigent, utilisez toujours une soupape de surpression correctement sélectionnée et installée pour
éviter les dommages et les blessures causés par la surpression du système.

• Cet équipement ne doit pas être utilisé par des enfants ou des personnes aux capacités physiques, sensorielles ou cognitives
réduites, ou par des personnes n’ayant pas l’expérience ou l’expertise appropriée, sauf si ces personnes sont supervisées ou
ont reçu des instructions à cet effet. Les enfants ne doivent pas utiliser l’équipement ni jouer avec l’appareil ou dans sa proxi-
mité immédiate.
• L’équipement peut démarrer automatiquement. Débranchez toujours le cordon d’alimentation de la pompe et coupez l’ali-
mentation électrique avant d’entretenir la pompe ou le régulateur.
• Ne pas faire fonctionner la pompe à sec. En cas de fonctionnement à sec, la température à la surface de la pompe augmen-
tera à un niveau susceptible de causer des brûlures cutanées en cas de contact et entraînera de graves dommages à votre
pompe.
• L’utilisation de cet équipement nécessite les instructions d’installation et d’utilisation détaillées fournies dans le présent
manuel à utiliser avec ce produit. Lisez le manuel intégralement avant de procéder à l’installation et à l’utilisation du produit.
L’utilisateur final doit recevoir et conserver le manuel pour consultation ultérieure.
• Ne pas porter de vêtements amples, de bijoux ou tout autre accessoire qui pourrait se prendre dans les pièces mobiles de
l’équipement. Attacher les cheveux longs et retirer les bijoux.
• Porter des lunettes de sécurité lors de l’installation ou de l’entretien de la pompe.
• Garder les étiquettes de sécurité propres et en bon état.
• Cette pompe a été évaluée pour une utilisation avec de l'eau uniquement.
• La pompe doit être utilisée uniquement avec des liquides compatibles avec les matériaux de ses composants. Si la pompe
est utilisée avec des liquides incompatibles avec les composants de la pompe, le liquide peut provoquer une défaillance du
système d'isolation électrique entraînant un choc électrique.
• Le moteur de la pompe est doté d’un disjoncteur thermique à réenclenchement automatique et peut redémarrer inopiné-
ment. Le déclenchement du protecteur de Thermal indique une surcharge ou une surchauffe du moteur.
Risque de dommages à la pompe ou d’autres équipements.
• Inspecter périodiquement la pompe et les composants du système. Vérifier régulièrement que la tuyauterie ne montrent pas
de signe de faiblesse ou d’usure et que les branchements sont tous fiables.

Cette pompe a un moteur de double tension (115V / 230V). La
pompe est programmée d'usine sur 230V. Assurez-vous que
l'indicateur de tension correspond à la tension de la source
d'alimentation. Ne connectez pas à une tension autre que
celle indiquée.
IMPORTANT : Assurez-vous que le moteur est mis à la
terre et que le couvre-bornes du moteur est en place.
1. Couper l’alimentation électrique à la pompe.
2. Retirer le couvercle de boîtier de connexions du moteur.
3. Appuyez sur le dispositif noir de changement de tension
sur les deux bornes, la flèche blanche étant directement
alignée sur la tension correcte de la plaque à bornes.
IMPORTANT : Les fils blancs sur L1 et L2 ne doivent
jamais être enlevés.
4. Rattacher le couvercle de boîtier de connexions du moteur.
Câblage de la pompe
1. Employez un électricien effecteur le câblage.
2. Utilisez un circuit séparé du panneau de distribution
avec une protection correctement dimensionnée pour
alimenter la pompe.
3. Installez un interrupteur général avec un fusible ou un
disjoncteur approprié dans la ligne.
• Utilisez le bon calibre de câble pour supporter la
charge.
IMPORTANT : Un fil trop petit entre le moteur et la source d’alimentation nuira aux capacités de
démarrage et de charge du moteur.
Risque de blessure grave ou de mort par électrocution ou de dommages au
système.
• Débranchez toujours l’alimentation électrique avant de toucher à la pompe ou au refoulement.
• Un interrupteur de circuit de panne au sol est nécessaire.
• Si le cordon d’alimentation est endommagé, il ne doit être remplacé que par du personnel qualifié.
• N’utilisez que des conducteurs en cuivre.

4. Câblez les connexions.
• Connectez les lignes électriques aux bornes du pressostat marquées L1 et L2.
• Des fils très longs nécessiteront un câble plus gros.
• Pour plus de sécurité, assurez-vous que la pompe et le moteur sont reliés à la terre dans le pan-
neau de distribution ou au tubage du puits, s’il est en métal.
5. Les niveaux d’eau des puits tubulaires peuvent parfois être trop bas pour permettre le pompage.
Afin de prévenir des dommages à la pompe, demandez à un électricien de remplacer l’interrupteur
de pression par un interrupteur de coupure de basse pression.

Pour des profondeurs de pompage inférieures à 7,6m (25pi), il convient d’installer un puits peu pro-
fond. Pour des profondeurs de pompage de 6,1 à 27,4m (20 à 90pi), installez un puits profond. Consul-
tez «Installations typiques» page 16.
Puits peu profond
1. Placez le joint en caoutchouc rouge sur le venturi.
• Veillez à ce que la taille des trous corresponde.
2. Fixez l’ensemble d’injecteur à l’avant du boîtier de pompe, à l’aide des rondelles et des boulons
fournis.
• Assurez-vous que l’étiquette «bottom» (bas) se trouve au bas de la pompe.
NOTA: Les venturis et buses supplémentaires de la trousse d’injecteur ne sont pas nécessaires
pour cette application.
Puits foncés
Consultez «Installations typiques» page 16.
1. Enfoncez la pointe filtrante dans le sol.
• Reportez-vous aux instructions du fabricant concernant la pointe filtrante.
• Assurez-vous que la pointe filtrante est suffisamment profonde pour traverser la formation aqui-
fère sous la nappe phréatique, sans dépasser 7,6m (25pi) de profondeur.
• Si une pointe filtrante individuelle ne fournit pas assez d’eau, envisagez une installation à mul-
tiples pointes.
2. Installez suffisamment de tuyaux pour atteindre la source d’eau et laissez 30cm (1pi) de tuyau en
saillie.
• Le tuyau de montée doit être galvanisé en sections d’environ 1,5m (5pi).
3. Fixez un coude à 90° de 3,18cm (1¼po) à l’extrémité de chaque tuyau.
4. Fixez un clapet antiretour de 3,18cm (1¼po) sur le mamelon galvanisé de 3,18cm (1¼po).
5. Fixez un adaptateur mâle en PVC de 3,18cm (1¼po) au clapet antiretour de 3,18cm (1¼po).
Puits forés à la sondeuse
1. Trouvez la longueur totale nécessaire pour le tuyau en PVC de 3,18cm (1¼po) et le(s) raccord(s).
• Mesurez la distance entre le haut et le bas du puits et soustrayez 1,5m (5pi).
2. Assemblez le clapet de pied, l’adaptateur mâle en PVC de 3,18cm (1¼po) et la tuyauterie du puits.
IMPORTANT : Veillez à ce que les bavures ou les copeaux obtenus suite à la découpe des tuyaux
soient complètement éliminés pour éviter d’endommager la pompe.

3. Serrez fermement l’extrémité du tuyau non fini avec un collier de serrage à 30cm (1pi) du haut du
tuyau.
4. Abaissez l’extrémité du clapet de pied de l’ensemble de tuyauterie dans le puits.
5. Installez le dispositif d’étanchéité du puits et un tube de ventilation du puits.
• Assurez-vous que le clapet de pied est suspendu à 1,2m (4pi) du fond du puits.
• Le tuyau de 3,18cm (1¼po) doit dépasser le dispositif d’étanchéité de 30cm (1pi).
• Le tuyau de 2,54cm (1po) doit dépasser le dispositif d’étanchéité de 25cm (10po).
6. Fixez un coude à 90° de 3,18cm (1¼po) à l’extrémité de chaque tuyau.
Puits profond
1. Installez un clapet de pied de 3,18cm (1¼po) sur un mamelon fermé de 3,18cm (1¼po), puis fixez le
mamelon au bas de l’ensemble d’injecteur.
• La partie inférieure de l’ensemble d’injecteur est celle qui présente un seul trou.
2. Vissez un filetage NPT de 2,54cm x 15,24cm (1po x 6po) dans le plus petit trou de l’ensemble
d’injecteur.
3. Vissez un adaptateur mâle en PVC de 3,18cm (1¼po) sur le tube venturi et dans le plus grand trou
de l’ensemble d’injecteur.
4. Trouvez la longueur totale nécessaire pour les tuyaux en PVC de 3,18cm (1¼po) et 2,54cm (1po) et
les raccords.
• Mesurez la distance entre le haut et le bas du puits et soustrayez 1,5m (5pi).
5. Assemblez les tuyaux en PVC de 3,18cm (1¼po) et 2,54cm (1po) et les raccords.
• Le tuyau en PVC de 2,54cm (1po) doit être coupé 5,08cm (2po) plus court que le tuyau de
3,18cm (1¼po).
IMPORTANT : Veillez à ce que les bavures ou les copeaux obtenus suite à la découpe des tuyaux
soient complètement éliminés pour éviter d’endommager la pompe.
6. Serrez fermement l’extrémité du tuyau non fini avec un collier de serrage à 30cm (1pi) du haut du
tuyau.
7. Abaissez l’extrémité du clapet de pied de l’ensemble de tuyauterie dans le puits.
8. Installez le dispositif d’étanchéité du puits et un tube de ventilation du puits.
• Assurez-vous que le clapet de pied est suspendu à 1,2m (4pi) du fond du puits.
• Le tuyau de 3,18cm (1¼po) doit dépasser le dispositif d’étanchéité de 30cm (1pi).
• Le tuyau de 2,54cm (1po) doit dépasser le dispositif d’étanchéité de 25cm (10po).
9. Fixez un coude à 90° à l’extrémité de chaque tuyau.
Emplacement de la pompe
• Installez la pompe à l'intérieur dans un endroit propre, sec et ventilé, à l'abri du soleil et des intem-
péries.
• Prévoyez un espace adapté aux futures opérations d’entretien, à la protection contre le gel et contre
les inondations, et à la vidange des équipements.
• Boulonnez l’unité uniformément sur une base adaptée, de préférence en béton, pour éviter les
contraintes inutiles dues aux mouvements de la pompe.
• Installez la pompe plus près possible de la source d’eau, afin de réduire au minimum la longueur de
la tuyauterie d’aspiration.
• Gardez la zone de fonctionnement du moteur aussi sèche que possible.

Raccords de tuyauterie
Tuyauterie du puits vers la pompe
1. Installez un manomètre dans le port de ½ po NPT placé sur la surface de devant du corps de la
pompe, de l’autre côté où est placé le manostat.
IMPORTANT : Pour les puits foncés, faites appel à un électricien pour remplacer le pressostat par
un dispositif de coupure de basse pression.
REMARQUE : Un manomètre n’est pas nécessaire pour toutes les applications. Installez-le s’il est
inclus ou souhaité.
2. Fixez un adaptateur mâle en PVC de 3,18 cm (1¼ po) au trou supérieur du boîtier de la pompe.
IMPORTANT : Ne serrez pas trop.
3. Installez une tuyauterie entre la pompe et la tuyauterie du puits.
Pompe vers le réservoir et la conduite de branchement
1. Coupez l'alimentation en eau principale et l'alimentation au disjoncteur principal.
2. Ouvrez un robinet à proximité pour relâcher la pression de l’eau dans le système. Une fois que l’eau
et la pression ont été relâchées, fermez le robinet.
Les fluides sous pression risquent de causer des blessures corporelles, des
dégâts matériels ou d’endommager le système.
• N’installez pas ce produit si la pression d’arrivée de l’eau est supérieure à 75 psi. Le système de plomberie peut
être gravement endommagé.
• Une soupape de surpression (non incluse) conçue pour gérer le plein débit de la pompe à 75psi doit être instal-
lée dans le système afin d’éviter les blessures corporelles ou les dégâts matériels.
Risque de dommages à la pompe ou d’autres équipements.
• N’alimentez pas le système avant que la pompe soit amorcée. Ne faites pas fonctionner la pompe à sec, au risque
de provoquer une surchauffe et d’endommager le rotor et les joints. Cela annulera la garantie.
• N'utilisez pas de clés ouvertes pour desserrer les bouchons. Les fiches peuvent être endommagées et difficiles à
retirer.
