RONIN
To setup Satellite control for MoVI you will need to use
the Freefly Configurator mobile App or desktop application.
No special setup required for Satellite control.
Connect Satellite in one of two ways:
To setup Satellite control for Ronin you will need to use
the DJI Assistant mobile App or desktop application.
1. Set Up Radio Type:
1. Connect Satellite direct to Comm 1 on the Movi Pro
2. Connect Satellite to Comm 2 on the Freefly Mimic
1. Map Channels > Channel Screen
Mobile App Setup > Dual Op Screen
Desktop App > Remote Controller Screen
1. Set Radio Type to SBUS
1. Set CH 0 to Pan

Roll and return to level, 6 for Roll and Hold.

Double-click joystick to
cycle through Satellite’s
gimbal modes (Green,
blue, red, purple, and
light blue, described next
page.) Eclipse Light will
temporarily change color to
indicate mode.
Satellite is designed so that you can dial in how much control you
need in different scenarios. For example, you can use the intuitive
panning of Freefly’s Majestic Mode and let Satellite handle only tilt.
Or you can enter Satellite’s full manual mode and have complete axis
control at all times. Use Satellite’s various gimbal modes in concert
with your gimbal’s own settings to maximize your gimbal operation.
Press and hold ACTION
button for 5 seconds and

KILL MODE FOR RONIN ONLY WORKS IF THE RONIN REMOTE HAS BEEN TURNED ON AND CONNECTED. THE REMOTE CAN BE TURNED OFF
AFTERWARDS AND KILL MODE WILL STILL WORK. IF THE RONIN IS REBOOTED, THE REMOTE WILL HAVE TO BE POWERED ON ONCE AGAIN.

Satellite can be rotated 90
degrees and mounted anywhere
on your gimbal. If you choose
this orientation, Satellite can
be placed in Rotated Mode to
maintain standard usability
(i.e., up is up, etc.).

white to indicate
Rotated Mode is
engaged. To exit
Rotated Mode, repeat

To start camera, plug in compatible
cable and fully press Action Button. To
stop, press Action Button again. You do
not need to hold down Action Button for
Recording.
Camera control includes but is not limited
to Run/Stop. Camera control can be
achieved for the cameras in the chart

TROUBLESHOOTING
PANNING WHILE TILTING/TILTING WHILE PANNING
Most gimbals have a deadband setting. MoVI calls it “Joystick Window,” Ronin
calls it “Deadband.” If you find that when panning you get some tilt, use the
gimbal configuration application to adjust the Pan Window/Deadband to a higher
number. Do the same for Tilt.
1. Turn on gimbal or plug in/
unplugSatellite. When Eclipse
turns green, half-press and hold
Action Button. When Eclipse Light
turns blue, release Action Button.
2. When Eclipse Light is solid green,
rotate the joystick clockwise for
a full 360 degrees. Half-press
Action Button.
3. When Eclipse Light turns solid
white, Satellite is calibrated and
ready for use.
SATELLITE NOT PERFORMING PROPERLY
Reset to Factory Defaults by calibrating Satellite (Instructions below)
GIMBAL MOVES WITHOUT TOUCHING THE SATELLITE
1. Calibrate gimbal per the manufacturer instructions.
