1. Generalities
A REE product is a highly detailed model offering numerous functionalities. Therefore,
one should follow some operating recommendations.
First remove the railcar from the foam packing by using the protective film. It allows
you to handle your model avoiding any breakage. Then, take in your hand your
locomotive to set it on the track. The use of a ramp can bring a valuable help.
Here you are, your model is ready to run.
This product is designed to operate on minimum radius R=420 mm.
Its traction capacity has been designed to haul realistic trains of about 3-4 passenger
cars showing configurations.
The entire REE models team wishes you long gaming sessions with your model.
WARRANTY
Your model is covered by a two years parts and work warranty. This warranty will
apply when presenting a purchase receipt with the date of purchase.

2. Couplings and accessories
The railcar is delivered with the two front plates completely detailed. There are no
standard coupler’s supports assembled on model.
A. Accessories bag
Inside the delivered accessories bag, you will find a complete set of parts to put a NEM
360 coupler on one, or the other, or both front plates.
Are avaliable:
-Two NEM 360 coupler’s support,
-Two standard couplers.
If you wish to Install on your model another coupler type, you can use any
coupler which follows NEM 360 standard,
-A complete set of front plate accessories, shorten to make coupler movement
possible.
Rem: Depending on versions, detailing parts and quantity may vary a bit.

B. Coupler assembly
To fit a standard coupler’s support:
-First remove the complete front plate’s details,
-Put in place the shorter details,
-Remove the part under the front plate,
It is simply inserted vertically,
slightly in force, inside the body.

-Final look.

3. Body disassembly
-First, remove parts under front plates as indicated previously,
-Body is held in place on frame by several clips located between passengers’
doors.
Lift up body: move apart body’s sides and let the frame slide down,
To make this operation easier, there is no electric connection between body and frame.

4. Decoder installation/Replacement
Main electronic board is hidden between metallic frame and underframe.
-Remove body from frame as indicated on previous chapter,
-Disassemble the underframe, it is held in place on frame by 4 clips on each side,
lever out those clips one by one with a small screwdriver, then remove the
underframe,
-Remove, gently, the analog plug. Then place a PLUX22 decoder at the right
location,

-To fit model with sound feature, remove the loudspeaker seal protection sheet.
Stick the loudspeaker inside the sound box on the underframe. Be careful of
how the loudspeaker is laid: the 2 loudspeaker’s contacts must be on indicated
direction.
Loudspeaker’s connection is automatic by putting in in place the underframe.
-Reassemble railcar by following the reverse order:
oClip the underside of the chassis,
oInsert the body on the frame,
oReassemble the parts under the front plates.

5. Electronics.
A. Analog mode.
By default, the following functions are activated:
-Inverted according running direction: white lights, red lights and cab lights,
-Constant: passengers’ area.
By lifting up the body as shown above, you can access to 4 switches on the analogue
plug. They allow to switch off white and/or red lights for both model ends. So you can
choose to switch off the lights on NEM box side and in the same time to keep the lights
inverted on the other end.

B. Digital DCC.
DCC sound models are delivered with a ZIMO sound decoder PLUX22.
To digitise DC analog models, we recommend to use the specially programmed
decoders from the REE line.
-XB-427: Decoder X-2800 ZIMO Plux22 SOUND + loudspeaker (REE Sounds)
-XB-428: Decoder X-2800 ZIMO Plux22 (REE Program)
-XB-429: Decoder X-2800 ESU Lokpilot Plux22 (REE Program)
It is possible to use other decoders, but in this case, they need to be configured
(functions mapping) so that all the model’s functions are working.
As each decoder are configurated on a different way, we invite you to check the
decoder’s instruction sheet to make the best mapping for your use or to visit your local
resseller for advice.
Physical output on the electronic board are wired on the following way:

REE will not be responsible of dysfunction in case of customer programmed decoder.
To carry this work out, it is necessary to disassemble some parts of the model. If you
are not familiar with this kind of work, we recommend you ask your dealer to perform
this work or to direct you to a specialist.

7. Tyres replacement and lubrication.
To carry this work out, it is necessary to disassemble some parts of the model. If you
are not familiar with this kind of work, we recommend you ask your dealer to perform
this work or to direct you to a specialist. There are two traction tyres on one axle of
motor bogie.
The following sketches illustrate the procedure.
-Disassemble the bogie bottom and brake links. Those parts are screwed on
bogie’s frame. Unscrew the 4 screws and then remove gently the parts.
Lubrication: lubricate gears and
bearings then reassemble the
bogie.
BEWARE: only fine model grease in little quantity. Thick grease can damage the motor
and possible harms would be out warranty.

-Tyre replacement: remove the axle showing wheels with tyres and change the
rubber tyres.
-Reassemble every parts.
Be careful to correctly set the pickup!

8. Spare parts
In case of breakage, wear or loss of a component, REE provides a spare parts service
that you can contact directly or through your dealer.
In the following pages, you will find pictures, names and references of all the parts of
this engine.
Note: In the following charts, the CAD parts colours can be different from your model.
This is why it is important to specify the reference of your railcar.

For any spare part order, you have to precise:
1/ The part’s reference given in the following charts
2/ The reference of your model box
(on the sticker: "MB-055" for example)
