Power Supply Description.
This power supply has fault tolerance by using the following technique: short circuit,
over temperature, over current and over input-voltage protection on the voltage
regulator. Battery current, low voltage disconnect at impractical voltages and reverse
polarity battery protection.
With the battery connected and mains power on (green LED on) the power supply can
sustain a short circuit at the output terminals. In the event of a short circuit the
regulator will shut down and the electronic battery fuse will trip. The power supply
will automatically reset when the short is removed. The battery safety fuse will only
blow in the event of incorrect battery polarity.
Battery voltage warning.
The circuit incorporates battery voltage detector to give an indication via a yellow
LED, low battery voltage (11.5v) and disconnection of the battery at 10.3 volts.
Maximum battery capacity 12V 7Ah.
Fault warning.
Faults are warned via a red LED and a set of voltage free relay contacts which operate
on the two following faults: 1. mains fail with a time delay to ignore momentary
mains breaks. 2.red and green LED’s Regulator failures (i.e. open circuit situations).
LED indications.
Green = Mains power, Red and Green = Regulator fault, Red = Mains failure,
Yellow = low battery voltage.
Enclosure size. H325=W255=D90
