Summary Enclosed is a new Power Supply module for your ControlEdge HC900
Controller.
It can be installed in a:
Standard Controller or Remote I/O Rack Assembly –Figure 1
I/O Rack Assembly with Redundant Power –Figure 2
(Only available on 8 slot and 12 slot I/O Racks)
Redundant Controller Rack Assembly –Figure 3
Never attempt to remove the Power Supply module from
the controller rack with power applied.
RIUP
Contents The power supply module is supplied in a shipping container and
protective shipping materials. The container includes an appropriate
identification label that matches the label on the module. The Power
Supply module should be stored in the shipping container until ready for
installation.
Installation
Guidelines The power supply module may only be inserted into a dedicated slot
location in the rack as shown in Figure 1, 2, or 3. The safety ground
connection of the field power source must be connected to the chassis
ground terminal. The power supply ground jumper also connects to the
chassis safety ground terminal. See Figure 4 or Figure 5.

Install or Replace the Power Supply
Installation
Procedure See Figure 1,2 or 3 for orientation of the power supply and follow the
procedure in Table 1 to install or replace a power supply module.

If you are installing a new Power Supply, go to step 7.
If you are replacing the Power Supply, go to step 2.

Remove power from the power supply to be replaced.

Disconnect the power connections from the power supply. See Figure 4 or
Figure 5.

Disconnect the safety ground jumper from between the controller chassis and
the power supply terminal board. See Figure 4 or Figure 5.

Remove the screws that secure the power supply module assembly to the
rack. Note that these screws function to jack the module board assembly away
from the rack.

Pull the power supply assembly to remove.

Remove the Power Supply from its shipping container and insert it into the slot
location in the rack as shown in Figure 1, 2, or 3.
Orient the module to have the Honeywell Logo on the top.
Push the power supply module into the slot until the rear connector engages
the mating connector of the rack backplane.

Insert a flat screwdriver into the top and bottom holes in the tool secure power
supply door and pull the door outward to access the mounting screws.

Secure the new power supply module top and bottom with the captive
mounting screws.

Connect the ground jumper between the controller safety ground connection
and power supply ground terminal. See Figure 4 or Figure 5.

Connect the power wiring to the power supply. See Figure 4 or Figure 5.

Apply/re-apply power to the power supply.
