Safety Precaution
Do abide by the following precautions when using this product:
1. Containers with liquid should not be put on DVR.
2. DVR should be put at well-ventilated places.
3. DVR should work under the allowable limit of temperature and humidity.
4. Short-circuit will be caused when circuit board inside the DVR is damp, so please dusting
the circuit board ,connector ,case and case fan with banister brush.

1.3. Input method.
1.4. Using Remote Control.
Remote is the minor input device of system browsing interface.
Function keys instruction:
1.STARTUP/ STANDBY:Three-second long press to enter start
up/standby
2.LOGIN/LOCK:Obtain operation authority while entering the
system. If you have enabled “SAFETY” in setup menu, you can
enter user password login interface.
3.Number key/channel button:Input 0~9 in setupinterface/Under
preview mode, press channel button to select the
corresponding channel picture to be displayed.
4.Multi-Screen:Change the view mode to four channel picture
display or multi-channel picture display.
5.MENU:Press [MENU] to display main menu under preview
mode.
6.PTZ:Call PTZ control interface.
7.EXIT:Close the menu window or return to previous menu.

· FAST REWIND:Rewind the images quickly by 2×,4×,8×;Press [PLAY] to return to normal
speed.
· PLAY:Play video at normal speed.
·FAST FORWARD: Fast forward the video; Press [PLAY] to return to normal speed.
·SLOW MOTION: Slow down the play speed by 1/2×,1/4×,1/8×;Press [PLAY] to return to
normal speed.
·PAUSE/FRAME BY RRAME: Press it for the first time to pause the picture, keep pressing
wouldplay the video frame by frame. Press [PLAY] to return to normal speed.
14.AUDIO:Audio button.
15:MUTE:Stop audio output.
The right way to use remote: Press “LOGIN/LOCK” →“Input device ID” →“OK”
NOTE: Please make sure that the batteries are correctly installed and aim the IR
transmitter of the remote at the IR receiver of the DVR.
If the remote does not function, check the following:
1,Check the polarity of batteries.
2.Check the remaining charge in the batteries.
3.Check whether the remote sensor has been blocked.
4.Check whether the ID of input device is right.
1.5. Starting and Shutting Down Your DVR.
STARTING UP
If the power indicator on the front panel does not turn on, please plug in the power and turn the
power switch on.
If the power indicator is on, please press the POWER button.
NOTE: Please make sure the input voltage be commensurate with DVR and maintain a good
grounding.

SHUTDOWN
Standard shutdown--—Menu operation
Steps: →1.Enter the Shutdown menu, shown in Figure 1 by clicking on Menu > Shutdown.
2. Select the Shutdown button.
3. Click the OK button.
4. Press the POWER switch on the rear panel to safely shutting down the system.
Manual shutdown -Through front panel button or remote.
Press and hold the POWER button for 3 seconds if the system has enabled the Password, it will
pop up a dialog box. Please input user name and password (The default pass word is 12345) for
authentication
If the system has not enabled Password, a shutdown confirmation prompt will pop up, click
OK
Note: When the system prompt that the system is under shutting down, please do not press the
power button, otherwise the system can not shutdown normally.

Illegal shutdown—Through power switch on the rear panel.
Please try to avoid shutdown through the rear panel power switch (especially it is during
recording)
Illegal shutdown—Unplug the power cord directly.
Please try to avoid unplugging the power cord directly (especially it is during recording)
NOTE: Under some circumstances, the power supply does not work orderly, which may result
in the disorders of DVR, and seriously it may damage the DVR. Stabilized power supply is
recommended under such circumstances.

2. Preview
2.1. Preview screen.
In preview screen, the video and alarm status of each channel can be distinguished by the
identifier on the lower left of each channel. When switching value alarm or anomalies alarm
occurs, a notification icon would appear on the lower right of the screen, and click on the icon
for details.

Electronic amplification
:To enlarge the picture 2 times for each click.8 times at most.
:To shrink the enlarged picture till normal one.
:To enlarge the selected area to full screen.

Under main preview mode, preview screen switching,preview mode adjustment ,play
back, PTZ control and electronic digital zoom, etc, can be achieved by means of right click
menu
Note:1. Before using “START TOUR”, please set up “dwell time”(the time between switching
of channels)in Live preview configuration.
2.3. Preview parameters setup.
Live Preview displays can be customized to your own needs. These settings can be accessed by
entering the Display Settings menu.

To access the Display Settings menu:
1. Click the Menu button.
2. Click the Configuration icon.
3. Click the Display Settings icon.
The settings available in this menu include:
lDwell Time: The time in seconds to dwell between switching of channels when Start Tour is selected
in Live Preview.
lAudio: Enables/disable audio output for the selected video output.
lBorder Adjustment: To adjust the border of video output.
NOTE
:
It the audio preview has not been enabled, the live preview would be soundless.
2.4. System locking.
Steps:1.Enter shutdown interface by clicking on Menu > Shutdown. .
2.Select the LOCK button.
NOTE: The system would return to preview mode after being Locked.
To reenter playback, PTZ control and main menu, user name/password authentication is
required.

3. Recording setup
3.1. Coding parameters setup.
Before setting your DVR up for recording, certain settings should be configured first
Before configuring the encoding parameters, please
make sure that this unit has been installed with
HDD and completed initialization.
Path: Main menu→Hard disk management
● If the system has not been installed with HDD,
please install the HDD and start initialization..
● If the system has not been initialized ,please
initialize it.
Steps:1.Select the disk and click “initialization”.
2.Click OK.
NOTE: Formatting a disk would lose all the its
record.
●After initialization, the disk space usage would be
shown as in the graphic.

1. Configure settings for:
lEncoding Parameters: Select main stream (mainly for recording)or sub stream(mainly for
uploading).
lRecord Audio: Select to record audio of the camera.
lResolution: The resolution is fixed as 4CIF for main stream, CIF for sub stream.
lBitRate Type: Select either Variable or Invariable bit rate.
lVideo Quality: Select the quality to record cameras when the Bitrates type is selected as Variable.
Otherwise, it can't be selected.
lFrame Rate: Select recordings frame rate.
lMax Bit Rate: Select or define custom maximum bit rate for recordings.
2. Click ADVANCED. This will bring up another menu with more advance recording options.
Set additional record settings:
lOverwrite: Sets to overwrite the HDD to continue recording when it is full.
lPre-record: Sets the time in seconds to pre-record before the actual recording begins.
lPost-record: Sets the time in seconds to post-record after the actual recording ended.
3.2 Scheduling a Recording
Scheduling a recording allows you to setup the DVR to only record when you want it to.
To setup a recording schedule:
1. Enter the Record Settings menu (Menu→ Configuration → Record Settings).
2. Select the Schedule tab to open the Schedule menu.

3. Select Camera to edit schedule for.
4. Click the Edit button.
5. Click and check Enable Schedule
.
6. Select the day you would like to setup the schedule for or select All Week to record the entire week.
7. Select to record the entire day by clicking All Day or at different time periods. Up to 8 time periods
can be scheduled. It is important to note that time periods cannot be overlapped.
8. Select recording Type. Recording type can be based on time and triggered by schedule, motion detection,
motion or alarm and alarm. Motion detected and alarm triggered recordings are further explained in
Configuring Alarms.
9. Click the OK button to finish configuration.
10. Repeat steps 3-9 for other cameras or copy settings from one schedule to the next under the Copy To
section.
11. Click OK to finish and save the schedule settings.
12. If all the cameras recording settings are the same, please select All under Copy To section as shown:

Note: Event encoding parameters will take effect when motion detection or alarm happens.
Normal encoding parameters will take effect when there are no events happening.
3.3 Setting up motion detection.
Set up properly, using motion detected recording will increase the number of days your DVR is
able to record. It will only record relevant events rather than recording everything, making searching
for an event easier.
To set up motion detection:
1. Enter Camera Settings:
Enter the Camera Settings interface by navigating to Menu →Configuration →Camera Settings. Select
channel to configure motion detection on.
2. Select the Advanced tab to open up the Advanced Camera Settings menu.
3. Check the checkbox next to Video Motion Detection, and enable Motion Detection as .
