Front and engine compartment
You can view the oil level on the instrument panel:
when the message “test of control system” ap-
pears on the instrument panel, press either
button or . The oil level is temporarily displayed
on the instrument panel.
You must observe the service intervals and the
standards governing the oils tested for your
engine. Refer to the Maintenance Service docu-
ment for your vehicle, and to Section 4 of the ve-
hicle handbook for the precautions to take when
filling with oil.
The level indicated on tank should be between
the “MINI" and "MAXI" markings.
If it is necessary to top up this level, it is essential
to do so when the engine is cold.
Add some fluid to reservoir if necessary.
depending on the vehicle, to find out the
fluid level, open the cap and pull out the dipstick.
To open, pull handle , pull on the bonnet handle
then lift it. Secure the bonnet with the stay.
Check that nothing has been left in the engine
compartment.
To close the bonnet again, hold the bonnet in the
middle and guide it until it locks properly.
Check that the bonnet is locked.

If you wish to fit a rear-facing child seat on the
front passenger seat, you must deactivate the air
bag: with the vehicle stationary, turn switch to
.
The

indicator light comes on, lit orange,
on the central display .
Immediately reposition the switch to as soon
as you stop using the child seat.
You should reactivate the air bag as soon as you
remove the child seat from the front passenger seat
to ensure the protection of the front passenger in
the event of an impact.
To reactivate the air bag: when the vehicle is sta-
tionary, push and turn lock to the position.
With the ignition on, you must check that the warn-
ing light

is lit up on central display .

Rear seats
Press handle on the seatback to be folded down
or, depending on the vehicle, press the two han-
dles on each side of the seatback at the same
time.
to obtain a flat floor, lower the headrests,
and fold the seat base then the seatback.
To return the seatback to its initial position, check
that the seat belts are in the correct position and
lift the seatback. Check that it is correctly locked.
Each rear side seat is fitted with the ISOFIX child
seat mounting system.
Depending on the type of child seat used, installa-
tion requires specific precautions.
The two rings are located between the seatback
and the seat base of the seat and are identified by
a marking on the seatback. To ensure your child
seat can be easily fitted and locked on rings , use
access guides on the child seat.
Consult your RENAULT Dealer to find out about the
equipment available for your vehicle.

Press switch to authorise opening of the rear
doors. If the vehicle is equipped with electric rear
windows, this action will also authorise their use.
The indicator light in the switch lights up to con-
firm that the locks have been activated.

On equipped vehicles, the parking distance control
“measures” the distance between the rear of the
vehicle and any obstacles nearby.
When approaching an obstacle during manoeuvres,
the beeps become faster and then sound continu-
ously when the vehicle is 25 cm from the obstacle.
You can temporarily deactivate the system using
switch located on the dashboard (depending on
the vehicle), or permanently, via the vehicle set-
tings customisation menu, which can be accessed
using stalk (refer to your driver’s handbook).
Rear
– When driving, when the low fuel level warning
light
L
comes on, fill the tank as soon as
possible.
After the warning light comes on, you have approx-
imately 30 miles (50 km) left, driving at moder-
ate speed.
The fuel tank capacity is approximately 59 litres.
An emergency spare wheel is provided in case of
a puncture. To access it, lift the luggage compart-
ment carpet.
Refer to Section 5 of your driver’s handbook.
Your vehicle is fitted with a flap and a cap.
– Unlock the flap:
– vehicle with switch , press the switch;
– vehicle without switch , press the door un-
locking button on the remote control.
– Open cover .
– Open cap , then insert the filler nozzle.
If the flap does not open, ensure that the
vehicle is unlocked.

Accessing the vehicle
Having the card on you (you can leave it in your
pocket or bag) will enable:
– automatic unlocking by pulling a door handle;
– automatic locking when leaving the vehicle (a
beep sounds) or intentional locking by pressing
the button on the driver’s door handle.
if required, you can use the manual mode or
built-in key . To release the key, press button .
– The detection zone of the card, necessary for
locking and unlocking the vehicle, depends on
the surrounding environment or the location of
the card;

for vehicles equipped with deadlocking,
two successive presses on this button stop the
vehicle from being opened, even from the inside
and, depending on the vehicle, the windows are
closed.

to switch the exterior lights on/off remotely
(in order to find your vehicle in a car park for ex-
ample);

to lock/unlock the luggage compartment
only.
To release the key, press button . It is released
from the unit. To return it, push it into its housing.
In all situations:
– Two flashes of the direction indicator lights con-
firm locking;
– one flash of the direction indicator lights con-
firms unlocking.
After locking/unlocking the vehicle or the lug-
gage compartment only using the buttons on the
RENAULT card, remote locking and unlocking in
hands-free mode are deactivated.
To reactivate the hands-free mode: restart the
vehicle.
Never leave the remote control or the RENAULT
card inside the vehicle.

With the hands-free RENAULT card in the interior
detection zone (except for some high areas such as
the sun visor...), press button .
With key in the ignition switch, turn it fully on.
Once the engine has started, release it.
: before starting, position the gear
lever in neutral.
: before starting, position the
gear lever in position .
With the vehicle stationary, press button .
With the vehicle stopped, turn the key towards you.
Depending on the vehicle, certain functions can
be adjusted from the trip computer and warning
system.
To access this menu, with the vehicle stopped:
– briefly press button or repeatedly until the
message “settings menu: long press” appears;
– hold down button or until the message “set-
tings menu” appears;
– press button or until you have the function
you wish to modify;
– select the line, hold down button or to modify
the function.
To exit the menu:
– press once or more to select “Back” or “Exit”;
– press and hold to confirm;
– repeat the operation if necessary.

Adjusting the seats
Turn control knob to the required position.

With the engine running, press switch

This indicator light on the instrument panel
comes on once the front seat heating system is
operating. The system, which has a thermostat, de-
cides whether or not the heating is needed, accord-
ing to the position selected.
Lift handle to release. Release the handle at the
desired position and make sure that it is locked.
Move lever as many times as necessary upwards
or downwards.
Carry out these adjustments when the vehicle
is stationary.

Switch in central position: the door mirrors
will fold back automatically when the vehicle is
locked. They will fold out when the ignition is next
switched on.
Depending on the vehicle, to force the door mirrors
to fold back or out, position switch to or re-
spectively. Automatic mode is then deactivated.
To reactivate it: position the switch in the cen-
tral position.
Pull the headrest upwards to the desired height.
(depending on the vehicle)
Press button and guide the headrest down to the
desired height.
(depending on the vehicle)
Depending on the vehicle, move section towards
or away from you to the required position.
Press button and simultaneously adjust the seat
belt to the required height.
Select the door mirror using switch , then use
button to adjust it to the desired position.

MP3 player etc. to your audio system.

Cruise control/speed limiter controls.
Bonnet release control.
Controls for:
– headlight beam height remote adjustment;
– lighting rheostat for control instruments;
– activation/deactivation of the traction control;
– temporary activation/deactivation of the park-
ing distance control system.

Instrument panel
Fuel economy indicator:
(depending on vehicle)
This function lets you know the best time to change
gear so as to optimise fuel consumption.

Engine coolant temperature indicator.

If the minimum level is reached, warning light
comes on and a beep sounds.

This requires you to drive carefully to
a RENAULT Dealer as soon as possible. If you
fail to follow this recommendation, you risk
damaging your vehicle.

this warning light requires you to stop
immediately, for your own safety, as soon as
traffic conditions allow. Stop your engine and
do not restart it. Call a RENAULT Dealer.
Some vehicles are equipped with a system that
analyses the quality of the oil in real time. It en-
sures that the engine remains reliable by adapting
the engine oil change intervals to the driving style.
Under certain conditions of use, the message
“Service due in...” may appear before the sched-
uled service date. If the message “Service vehicle”
is then displayed, you must arrange for the vehicle
to be serviced as soon as possible.

Turn the ring to:

ing on the vehicle).
Turn ring upwards and then release it to:

To switch them off, repeat the operation.
Stalk in position:

– : intermittent wiping or, depending on the
vehicle, automatic wiping;
ring can be used to adjust the sensitiv-
ity of automatic wiping, from minimum sensitiv-
ity () to maximum sensitivity ().
– : normal wiping speed;
– : fast wiping speed or maintenance position

If fitted to the vehicle, select the cruise control or
speed limiter by moving switch .
Cruise control/speed limiter

The cruise control is a function which
helps you to keep your driving speed at a constant
value.

The speed limiter function helps you
stay within the driving speed limit.
– Limit/cruising speed activation, storage and in-
crease: button (+);
– Limit/cruising speed decrease: button (-);
– Switching the function off, with limit/cruising
speed storage: button (0);
– Limit/cruising speed activation and recall:
button (R);
– Main “On/Off” switch .
To use the cruise control/speed limiter, refer to
Section 2 of your driver’s handbook.

Press briefly to switch your audio system on or
off. Press or to select the source (FM radio
or CD).
To select a radio station, press repeatedly to
select a waveband.
To select your frequency manually, press repeat-
edly or press and hold it.
To obtain optimal radio reception and avoid air
noise, the aerial should be adjusted so that its end
is approximately 28 cm from the vehicle’s roof.
Insert a CD in the player: the CD will play auto-
matically.
Auxiliary socket (AUX) on the front panel enables
you to connect your portable audio player.
For special notes on your system, refer to the
handbook for the equipment.

To select a frequency automatically, press briefly.
To store a radio station to one of the buttons num-
bered 1 to 6:
– select the radio station ;
– press on one of the buttons from 1 to 6, until a
beep sounds;
– to recall a stored radio station, press the corre-
sponding button.

Multimedia systems
Press to switch the system on or off. Select the
desired source by pressing one of the keys once
or several times.
If you wish to listen to an AUXILIARY source,
connect your portable audio player to the desired
socket (refer to the “Dashboard” section).
To update the list of stations, press then , or
turn to select the option “Update FM List", and
confirm by pressing or .
To select a radio station from an alphabetical list,
press to go to station name field , then turn
or press several times to scroll through the list
of radio stations.
To save a station to one of the keys numbered 1
to 6, select a radio station and press one of keys 1
to 6 until you hear a beep.
To recall a stored station, press the correspond-
ing button.
To save up to 12 FM stations, select a radio station,
press and use or turn to select a location
from 1 to 12. Confirm by pressing or .
To recall a stored station, press the buttons
to move horizontally to the station number by
pressing, then scroll through the radio stations
using or .

In order to use your hands-free device (telephone,

it for the first time. After this, it will be recognised

In order to use a Bluetooth® device, either a tel-
ephone or portable audio player (depending on
the vehicle), from your multimedia system, please
follow the instructions below.
Pairing will enable the multimedia system to rec-
ognise and store your Bluetooth® device. This is
the first step to carry out in order to use your tel-
ephone or portable audio player.
you can pair several devices to your multi-
media system, but only one device can be used
at a time (a single telephone or a single portable
audio player).
Pairing is carried out directly on your device (refer
to its user instructions):
– check that your multimedia system and your
Bluetooth® device are on;
– activate the Bluetooth® connection on your
device;
– in the multimedia system settings menu, select
the field which allows you to store or pair a
Bluetooth® device;
– launch a search for Bluetooth® equipment from
your device;
– select “My-Radiosat” or “MY-CAR” from the list
of devices found;
– enter the pairing code using your device’s keypad
(it will appear on the multimedia system screen,
otherwise refer to the user instructions for the
system).
The device is paired.
Your Bluetooth® device must be connected to the
multimedia system for all its functions to be ac-
cessible.
To connect your device, select it from the list of de-
vices stored in the multimedia system.
The multimedia system may also automatically rec-
ognise your device once it is switched on.
With your Bluetooth® device connected, you can
use some functions directly via the controls on
your audio system.
You can also:
– for a portable audio system: select a music track
or an album…;
– for a telephone: display the telephone address
book, call a contact from the telephone address
book, update the telephone address book…

Heating and air conditioning system
With the engine running, to benefit from the auto-
matic climate control, select one of the three auto-
matic programmes:
– : regular temperature regulation mode;
– : quietest temperature regulation mode;
– : ventilation mode (recommended for the
rear seats).
Then, choose the temperatures using levers
and .
you can exit automatic mode by pressing any
of the other buttons.
Press button . To exit the function, press button
again.
Button is used to deactivate the air condition-
ing (integrated indicator lights up and “AC OFF” is
shown on the display ).
This is switched on when certain automatic con-
trols are used. It can also be activated manually
by pressing .
– To adjust the ventilation speed: turn ;
– to change the distribution of air : turn ;
– to activate/deactivate the air conditioning :

– to activate/deactivate air recirculation: press ;
