RE220T Repeater Translator™, 2GIG
®
-Compatible
Features
•Listens to distant 2GIG and Honey ell® -protocol ireless devices, and
re-transmits them to control panel.
o2GIG Signals  2GIG Signals
oHoney ell Signals  Honey ell Signals
•Extends range of system.
•No sensor enrollment required.
•Received IDs are passed on unchanged to panel. All sensor alarm,
supervisory and trouble signals are passed through.
•Main device has its o n unique 2GIG ID for supervisories, complete
reporting of main device tamper, external po er supply fault and lo
battery.
•Dual antennas for both Receive and Transmit diversity for increased
range.
•Back-up battery protects during loss of external po er.
ey Instructions
•External supply: 12V DC, recommend 30+ mA.
•3 AAA Alkaline batteries give 72 hours backup if external supply fails.
INSTALL BATTERIES ONLY WHEN EXTERNAL SUPPLY IS READY TO CONNECT.
•Enrolling:
Distant sensors may be enrolled into 2GIG system as normal. They
are not enrolled in the Translator.
If trouble supervision of the Translator itself is desired, assign the
Translator to a zone for sending check-in supervisories, cover tamper
and lo battery messages.
•24 Hour Aux Zone Type – When cover opened: “fault” hen
system not armed, “alarm” hen system armed.
• Supervised RF input type
•When prompted, toggle the tamper s itch to enroll the serial
number.
Main device does not need to be enrolled in the panel for the
repeating function to ork.
•Never put more than one Repeater in a 2GIG installation.

Operation
•Translator hears distant 2GIG protocol sensors and repeats the 2GIG
information to the panel. Translator hears Honey ell sensors and
repeats the Honey ell information to control panel. Remember, 2GIG
panels can hear Honey ell sensors.
•Generally, sensors send 8 identical “packets” of information. No matter
ho many packets the Translator hears, it ensures that a complete set
of 8 packets are repeated to the control panel.
•Translator Main Zone ireless transmission ( unique 2GIG ID):
Tamper, hen cover opened. Also sends restore.
Lo battery, hen lo battery. Also sends restore.
Supervisory every hour. Supervisory stopped if 12V DC po er absent.
•LED Operation
Green LED
•On if AC po er present.
•Blinks on receipt of 2GIG & Honey ell-compatible packets.
Red LED
•On if device lo battery (unless there’s no AC po er).
•Blinks on transmit of 2GIG & Honey ell-compatible packets.
•Application Diagram
Because the Translator has t o antennas, for both receive and
transmit diversity, it ill generally have better range than all
sensors, and many panels (particularly those ith internal antennas).
Because of this, it tends to more than double the distance the
remote sensor can be from the panel.
Place the Repeater generally half- ay bet een distant sensor and
panel.
Translator may also hear and repeat sensors that are close to panel…
panel ill simply hear the close sensor signals again. It is extremely
rare that this ill cause any problem.
