1 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
These operating instructions are the manufacturer’s (CRESTO) basic instructions for the correct use and inspection of the
Smartline X. This emergency rescue device is only intended to be used for emergency evacuation from elevated incident arears
(max. one persons), where other means of escape is insufcient.
All technical limitations and the safe use of the device are listed in the following manual.
Equipment use must be in accordance with legal requirements and the manufacturer’s specied training.
1. The equipment is solely dimensioned for rescue and evacuation only in accordance with the equipment’s technical data
and the manufacturer’s (CRESTO) instructions cf. relevant technical standards. Special attention must be made regarding
maximum safe work load, handling and distance in use.
2. All other forms of use, e.g. hoisting/descending goods, are prohibited and illegal and will terminate all liable and legal
obligations between the user and the manufacturer.
3. Service, inspection, repair and training must be carried out in accordance with the producer’s guidelines, by certied
competent persons.
4. Section 3 concerns the standards’ requirements that the named actions and meas- ures may only be carried out by the
manufacturer’s (CRESTO) personnel who are documented as competent, or subcontractor personnel who are documented
by the manufacturer as competent.
5. In accordance with the applicable working environment rules and standards, the safe and responsible use of the equipment
requires suitable training, cf. 4.
6. Equipment users must be in good health and good physical condition. In case of known disorders, the user must be informed
by his or her own doctor of possible con- sequences, as conditions such as cardiovascular conditions, diabetes, blood
pressure deviations, epilepsy, and balance problems, etc., can be hazardous to safety when using the equipment.
7. Equipment use must be supported by the company’s own accident emergency proce- dures related to daily work.
1.1. DISCREPANCY
Smartline X may be used for teaching/training. Such use exerts higher loads on the equip- ment, than normal emergency use
would. The producer does not recommend the use of emergency devices for training use. This is due to the fact that the technical
specication in production is optimised to emergency use only. For further information on training requirements contact:

2 INTRODUCTION
This document gives information about the correct use of the Smartline X in different situations. These instructions must be read
and fully understood by all persons who are going to use the Smartline X. We also recommend that all employers must read these
instructions carefully, to ensure a good safety level together with a full understanding of the product and its use. Users shall be
trained in the use of the equipment.
This product is made in accordance with the PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425, which ap- plies to construction, design and
production of PPE and complies with EN341:2011 Descender devices, class 2D.
3 COMPLETE KIT
The Smartline X is an emergency descender that can be used for descents by the user or an evacuee from heights up to
200 metres.
It is A SINGLE USE ONLY device, which means that after use the device has to be sent to an approved body for inspection and
replacement of the line. The Smartline X may be supplied with different line lengths as specied on the equipment.

The Smartline X is a complete system, which consists of the following parts
(see g. 1):
1. 1 Smartline X descender, including a handle to regulate the speed.
2. 1 aramid line (different lengths available).
3. 1 connected mini shock absorber (screamer).
4. 1 connecting shackle between shock absorber and line.
5. 1 karabiner to connect the descender device to a body holding device.
6. 1 anchor sling EN795 cl.B, for anchoring to an anchor point/construction.
Aramid, (Sling in Polyamide is optional).
7. 1 karabiner to connect the line to the sling.
8. 1 marking label.
9. 1 kit bag to protect the equipment.
NOTE: The handle is secured to the body of the Smartline X device by a
safety seal. When opening the handle, the seal pops away!
The Smartline X has been produced as a compact light package. This has
been possible due to the special line made from Aramid. In addition to high
resistance to mechanical wear and strength compared to its small diameter,
the descent line has an extremely high melting point (˃450 °C).
4 INSPECTION OF EQUIPMENT
Before using the Smartline X kit, inspect:
• That the seal between handle and body is intact.
• That there is no visible damage on the equipment.
• That there is no visible damage on other equipment to be used with the Smartline X.
• That the descent line is long enough for the actual descent.
• That there´s no knots or entanglement along the line.
5 USING THE SMARTLINE X
5.1. GENERAL ADVICE
Rescue equipment should only be used by persons who are properly trained and are familiar with how to use the equipment in a
safe manner, or during training and under direct supervision of qualied instructors.
The Smartline X kit is meant to be carried on the harness to be available if an emergency situation arises, and it can be located at
different places on the harness. We recommend placing it at the lower back/right or left to avoid conict with other equipment that
might be in use.

5.2. RESTRICTIONS ON USE
• The Smartline X must ONLY BE USED ONCE! After use the Smartline X must be inspected by an approved body, in
order to determine if it is safe to re-t!
• The Smartline X is only approved for one person and a total weight between 60kg to 140 kg.
• The Smartline X can be used under dry, wet and cold conditions in temp. ranging from plus 50 to minus 25°C. If the general
working conditions is artic (average ˂ - 4°C) a sealed pack is recommended to ensure optimal descend conditions on light loads
(60kg).

• The maximum height of descent is 200 metres.
• The Smartline X is tted with a mini shock absorber in order to absorb dynamic peek loads during rigging and descend within
the safety factor of 5.
• The anchor point must accept loads of at least 1200 kg or be approved according to EN795
• The anchor sling and the line must not rest over sharp edges that might cause damage or cutting. When possible utilize edge
protection if needed.
• The Smartline X must not be used for fall arrest, only in emergency for descending.
WARNING!
• A rescue plan shall be in place to deal with emergencies.
• The descender device should only be used by a person competent in its use or following clear emergency protocols.
• The descender device is for rescue purposes only.
• Any slack between the anchor point and the user should be avoided.
• It is vital to keep control of the tail rope to reduce the risk of serious injury or death.
• It is vital always to descend in control, because loss of control may be difcult to recover .
• Against making any alteration to the product without the manufacturer´s prior written consent.
• The device shall be redrawn from service if it has been implicated in arresting a fall – if the device has been used to
perform a descent.
• During long descents and depending on speed and load, the descender will get hot, and must not be touched other
places than on the handle and the line.
• The use of heavy duty working gloves is mandatory to avoid injuries on hands and ngers!
• If the product is exported, the dealer is shall supply the translation of this user, maintenance and inspection instruction
into the ofcial language of the country where the product is to be used.
Depending on distance, speed and load on long descends (more than 80 m), you may even experience smoke coming from the
body of the device and from the line, where it exits the device.
Under humid/wet conditions it may be experienced as “a lot of smoke”.
Both the generated heat and the smoke is known factors that have been accessed care- fully during development and certication.
Utilizing the device within the specication of this manual together with adequate training, as required, offers the user a safe
emergency evacuation from up to 200 m of height at a max. load of 140kg.

5.4. DESCENDING
1. Open the kit bag to access Smartline X.
2. Place the anchor sling around a structure and into the karabiner g. 1A.
NOTE: The structure must be able to take a load of 12 kN.
If the anchor sling is placed around a vertical construction, detach the sling and place it twice around the pole and through
itself again. Then attach the karabiner as shown in g. 1B. Ensure that the anchor sling locks in place. Fig. 1C show how to
attach the karabiner to a xed structural anchor EN795 cl.A.
3. Attach the descender to a front attachment point of the harness g. 2 – (low EN813 attachment point on the harness is
recommended) with the karabiner. Ensure that both karabiners locked off completely.
4. Take up any slack in the line by pulling the free end of the line towards the anchor until the line is tight. Sit down carefully until
your full weight is taken up by the line. Avoid exposing the equipment to dynamic loads.
5. Ensure that the descent is not in conict with moveable machinery, obstacles or live cable. The line must not lie over sharp
edges. It is advisable to take the line out of the bag and drop it to the ground if you are unsure about the line reaching the
ground. This must not be done if the line can get stuck on moveable machinery or other obstacles.
6. Start the descent using the Smartline X g. 3A.
7. The speed of the descent is adjusted with one hand on the handle and the other hand holding the line below the device. Start
with the line at an angle down of the slot as shown in g. 3B. When moving the handle down, the speed increases.
When moving the handle upwards or releasing the handle, the device will stop. Increase or decrease friction by moving
the line into the narrow part of the slot or away. It is important to always keep one hand on the line to control the descent.
8. During long descents and heavy loads, a lot of heat will be induced. There might even be some smoke developing inside the
descender. This is normal and not a safety concern. Avoid contact between exposed skin and the descender body, since
this may be very hot.
NOTE: The top mounted shock absorber will sustain a static load of approx. 140 to 150 kg. During descend, depending on speed
and load, dynamic loads of more than 150 kg e.g. abrupt stopping, can create partial opening of the absorber as a safety feature in
order to minimize peak loads on the system!

5.5. RESCUE
In situations where a person is unconscious or otherwise unable to descend by themselves, he/she can be rescued by another
person using the Smartline X.
Follow the instructions for rescue:
1. Approach the person to be rescued. Use appropriate fall protection equipment to protect yourself from falling.
2. Position yourself in a safe and appropriate position next to the casualty.
3. Open the bag and access the Smartline X.
4. Detach the karabiner from the anchor sling. Place the anchor sling around a structure and into its karabiner as shown in g. 1A
or g. 1B. The anchor must be able to support a load of 12 kN (EN795). Attach the Smartline X as shown in g.4.
5. Connect the karabiner at the end of the line to an attachment point on the harness of the person to be rescued. On full body
harnesses, an upper attachment point should be used. Ensure that both karabiners are locked.
6. Take up any slack in the line by pulling the free end of the line as shown in g. 5.
7. Transfer the load into the Smartline X. This is done in two different ways depending on the type of fall protection equipment
used. It is important that users are trained and supervised in these method.

After the line between the anchor and the person to be rescued is tightened as much as possible g. 5, adjust the loaded fall
protection equipment so that the person is lowered until his weight is fully onto the Smartline X. Then the other fall
protection equipment can be removed and the descent started.

In such situations the Smartline X has to be used as a pulley system to transfer the load from the fall protection equipment
to the Smartline X. This is done by making a loop of the line below the descender and threading it through the carabiner
or schackle attached to the harness. By pulling the line as showed in zz 6 the person can be lifted and the load transferred
from the fall protection equipment onto the Smartline X. The person only needs to be lifted a small distance before the fall
protection equipment can be removed.

8. The speed of the descent is regulated with one hand on the
handle and the other hand holding the line below the device.
Start with the line at an angle out of the slot. With the
descender upside down, the descent starts by pulling the
handle upwards g. 7, and stops when moving the handle
downwards or by releasing it. Increase or decrease friction by
moving the line into the narrow part of the slot or away as
shown in g. 3B. It is important to always keep one hand on
the line below the device to have better control of the descent.
9. Ensure that the descent is not in conict with moveable
machinery, obstacles or live cable. The line must not lie over
sharp edges.
10. Once the person is safely on the ground, give necessary
medical assistance and call for help. Detach the rope from the
harness.
6 MAINTENANCE, STORAGE AND PERIODIC
INSPECTION
6.1. STORAGE
The Smartline X must not be exposed to chemicals or stored together with chemicals. It shall be protected from strong heat,
UV light, light, high humidity, sharp edges or other inuences that can affect the security of the equipment.
6.2. MAINTENANCE
As the Smartline X is designed for single use only, there is no need for maintenance. If there are concerns about humidity in the
bag or possible damage to the equipment, it must be inspected according to section 4. All reparations or alterations have to be
done by a body approved by the manufacturer.
Warning: If the equipment becomes wet, it is allowed to dry naturally, not by direct heat or UV-light.
6.3. TRANSPORT
During transport the Smartline X must not be exposed to sharp items, chemicals, UV- light, or other inuences that may cause
damage. It must also be protected against falls, crush and shock damages.
6.4. INSPECTION OF EQUIPMENT
Personal inspection before use is described in section 4.
The Smartline X has to undergo periodic inspection by a competent person at least once every 12 months. This person must be
familiar with inspecting all the components in the set, and must know in detail how the set works.
The set must always be opened during periodic inspection. Repairs and replacement of parts can only be done by CRESTO AB.

Warning: The need for regular periodic examinations, and that the safety of users depends upon the continued efciency and
durability of the equipment
The equipment log on the last page must be updated with all periodic inspections, service and repairs and other matters concerning
the safe use of the equipment, if the CRESTO INSPECTOR data base is not utilized.
The Smartline X is equipped with a RIFD chip connecting it to the CRESTO INSPECTOR for easy track and trace of units and
service. The RFID is located in the marking label see section 8.
6.5. INSPECTION CRITERIA
• Aborber: check for deployment, material and stitching for damage including cuts, nicks, abrasion, fraying, discolorations, heat
or chemical damage and moisture.
• Connectors: gate function, abrasion, deformation, corrosion, cracks and nicks.

• Device: seal is intact, abrasion, deformation, cracks, nicks and corrosion.
• Rope: for loops in the material, damage, cuts, tears, signs of chemicals and UV degradations, discolorations, heat damage,
and moisture.
• Marking: Legibility of marking, serial no., date of manufacturing.
7 LIFESPAN
If stored and maintained according to these instructions:
• The line has a maximum lifetime of 7 years from date of manufacturing.
• The optional Aramid sling has a maximum lifespan of 7 years from date of manufacturing.
• Plastic and other non-metal components has a maximum lifetime of 10 Years.
If in doubt of the safe function of a component, the Smartline X shall all be withdrawn from service. All maintenance or alterations
have to be done by the manufacturer or a partner authorized by the manufacturer
7.1. SUSTAINABILITY & RECYCLING
We design and manufacture premium products, with premium materials, to be used actively and last long.
When the product is decided to be taken out of use, or its maximum lifetime has expired, it should be recycled according to local
legislations. Our products are made of polyester, polyamid or PVC and metal/aluminium components. If necessary dismantle the
metal components before recycling. You can also send the complete product to Cresto and we will take care of the recycling in
order to reduce our impact on the environment.

9 COMPATIBILITY, DOCUMENTATION AND
COMPLIANCE
Every component used together with the Smartline X device should be identiable as PPE and CE-marked, or show similar refer-
ences to national rules and regulations outside EU depending on place of use.

9.1. BODY HOLDING DEVICE
The Smartline X device may be used in combination with a sit-harness to EN813, a full body harness to EN361 or a rescue har-
ness according to EN1497. It shall be attached to the harness as recommended by the manufacturer..
9.2. ANCHORAGES
The anchor sling may be used on constructions without permanently installed anchors. The anchor sling should preferably be placed
around bearing parts of the construction, and must be able to support a minimum load of 12 kN. The karabiner may also connect
directly to a part of the structure as long as this part supports a load of 12 kN and does not cause unintended strain on the karabiner.
If special designed anchors are used, these shall conform to EN795.
9.3. LOG AND DOCUMENTATION
This manual should always accompany the equipment. In the form on the last page, all specic information about the equipment
must be lled in if not connected to the CRESTO INSPECTOR data base. The user must ll in the dates for when the equipment
has been taken into use, and all periodic checks or repairs the equipment has been through. The owner of the equipment is res-
ponsible for keeping this log updated, weather it refers to the hard copy or the INSPECTOR le.
9.4. COMPLIANCE
As a manufacturer, CRESTO AB declares that their Smartline X device is in accordance to the PPE Regulation 2016/425 and that
it is tested and approved in accordance with the European standard EN 341 class D. Download your User instruction and

1 SÄKERHETSFÖRESKRIFTER
Dessa användarinstruktioner är (CRESTO) grundläggande anvisningar för korrekt användning och besiktning av Smartline X.
Denna räddningsutrustning ska endast användas vid nödevakuering från platser på hög höjd (max. en person) där andra
evakueringssätt är otillräckliga.
Alla tekniska begränsningar och säker användning av utrustningen beskrivs i denna bruksanvisning.
Utrustningen ska användas i enlighet med lagstadgade krav och tillverkarens specika utbildning.
1. Utrustningen är endast dimensionerad för räddning och evakuering i enlighet med utrustningens tekniska specikation
och tillverkarens (CRESTO) anvisningar samt tillämpbara tekniska standarder. Särskild uppmärksamhet bör ägnas maxlast,
hantering och avstånd vid användning.
2. All annan användning, t.ex. att lyfta/ra ned varor, är förbjuden och olaglig och innebär att allt ansvar och alla rättsliga
skyldigheter mellan användaren och tillverkaren upphör att gälla.
3. Underhåll, besiktning, reparation och utbildning ska utföras i enlighet med tillverkarens riktlinjer och av godkända behöriga
personer.
4. Avsnitt 3 behandlar kraven i standarderna att de angivna åtgärderna och handlingarna endast får utföras av tillverkarens
(CRESTO) egen personal med dokumenterad behörighet, eller underleverantörens personal vars behörighet har verierats
av tillverkaren.
5. I enlighet med tillämpliga arbetsmiljöregler och -standarder krävs lämplig utbildning för säker och ansvarsfull användning av
utrustningen (se 4).
6. Personer som använder utrustningen måste vara vid god hälsa och i god fysisk kondition. Om användaren har ett bekräftat
sjukdomstillstånd måste denne inhämta information från sin läkare beträffande eventuella konsekvenser, eftersom till exempel
hjärtproblem, diabetes, högt eller lågt blodtryck, epilepsi, balansproblem osv. kan äventyra säkerheten när utrustningen
används.
7. Användningen av utrustningen måste stödjas av företagets egna rutiner vid arbetsplatsolyckor.
1.1. UNDANTAG
Smartline X kan användas vid utbildning. Sådan användning kan medföra högre belastning på utrustningen än vid normal användning
i en nödsituation. Tillverkaren rekommenderar inte att räddningsutrustning används vid utbildning. Detta beror på att den tekniska
specikation som tillverkas endast är optimerad för användning vid nödsituationer. För mer information om utbildningskrav kontakta:

2 INLEDNING
Det här dokumentet innehåller information om hur Smartline X används i olika situationer. Alla som kommer att använda Smart-
line X måste läsa igenom och förstå dessa anvisningar i sin helhet. Vi rekommenderar också att alla medarbetare läser igenom
anvisningarna noggrant så att en bra säkerhetsnivå kan garanteras tillsammans med en full förståelse för produkten och dess
användning. Alla användare ska utbildas i hur utrustningen används.
Produkten har tillverkats i enlighet med PPE förordning (EU) 2016/425 om konstruktion, utformning och tillverkning av personlig
skydds utrustning och uppfyller kraven för nedrningsdon klass 2D enligt standard EN 341:2011.
3 KOMPLETT UTRUSTNING
Smartline X är en nedrningsbroms för nödsituationer som kan användas för nedrning av användaren eller en person som ska
evakueras från upp till 200 meters höjd.
Det är en ENGÅNGSPRODUKT, vilket innebär att utrustningen efter användning måste lämnas in till ett behörigt kontrollorgan för
besiktning och byte av lina. Smartline X kan fås med olika linlängd enligt vad som anges på utrustningen.

Smartline X är ett komplett system som består av följande delar (se bild 1):
1. 1 Smartline X nedrningsbroms med handtag för reglering av
hastighet.
2. 1 aramidlina (nns i olika längder).
3. 1 ansluten ministötdämpare (falldämpare).
4. 1 schackel för sammankoppling av stötdämpare och lina.
5. 1 karbinhake för koppling av nedrningsbromsen till en sele.
6. 1 förankringssling, EN 795 klass B, för förankring i en förankringspunkt/
ett konstruktionselement, Aramid (Polyamidsling nns som tillval).
7. 1 karbinhake för sammankoppling av lina och slinga.
8. 1 märketikett.
9. 1 väska för skydd av utrustningen.
ANMÄRKNING: Handtaget är fastsatt i Smartline X-utrustningens
nedrningsbroms med en säkerhetsförsegling. När handtaget öppnas
bryts förseglingen!
Smartline X är en kompakt produkt med låg vikt, detta tack vare
speciallinan av aramid. Förutom omfattande skydd mot mekaniskt slitage
och god hållfasthet i förhållande till sin begränsade diameter har rningslinan
extremt hög smältpunkt (>450 °C).
4 KONTROLL AV UTRUSTNINGEN FÖRE ANVÄNDNING
Innan Smartline X används ska följande kontrolleras:
• Att förseglingen mellan handtaget och bromsen är intakt.
• Att det inte nns några synliga skador på utrustningen.
• Att det inte nns några synliga skador på annan utrustning som används tillsammans med Smartline X.
• Att rningslinan är tillräckligt lång för den faktiska rningshöjden.
• Att det inte nns knutar eller trassel på linan.
5 ANVÄNDA SMARTLINE X
5.1. ALLMÄNNA RÅD
Räddningsutrustning får endast användas av personer som har erforderlig utbildning och som kan använda utrustningen på ett
säkert sätt, eller vid utbildning under direkt överinseende av en kvalicerad instruktör.
Smartline X ska bäras på selen så att den är lättåtkomlig vid en eventuell nödsituation. Väskan kan fästas på olika delar av
selen. Vi rekommenderar dock att den placeras nedtill på ryggen/till höger eller vänster så att den inte är i vägen för annan
utrustning som används.

5.2. ANVÄNDNINGSRESTRIKTIONER
• Smartline X får ENDAST ANVÄNDAS EN GÅNG! Efter användning måste Smartline X kontrolleras av ett behörigt
kontrollorgan, för att säkerställa att den är säker att använda igen!
• Smartline X är endast godkänd för en person och en totalvikt på mellan 60 och 140 kg.
• Smartline X kan användas under torra, blöta och kalla förhållanden vid temperaturer på mellan +50 till –25 °C. Om arbete
vanligen sker under arktiska förhållanden (i genomsnitt ˂ –4 °C) rekommenderas en förseglad väska för att säkerställa optimala

nedrningsförhållanden för lätta laster (60 kg).
• Maximal nedrningshöjd är 200 meter.
• Smartline X är försedd med en ministötdämpare som tar upp dynamiska toppbelastningar vid riggning och nedrning inom
säkerhetsfaktor 5.
• Förankringspunkten måste tåla en belastning på minst 1200 kg eller vara godkänd enligt EN 795.
• Förankringsslingan och linan får inte ligga över vassa kanter som kan orsaka skärskada eller annan skada på linan. Använd
om möjligt kantskydd vid behov.
• Smartline X får inte användas som fallstopp, utan endast för nedrning i nödsituationer.
VARNING!
• En räddningsplan ska nnas för att hantera nödsituationer.
• Nedrningsbromsen bör endast användas av personer som har kunskap om hur den används eller som följer tydliga
rutiner för nödsituationer.
• Nedrningsbromsen är endast avsedd för räddningsaktioner.
• Undvik slack i linan mellan förankringspunkten och användaren.
• Se till att du har kontroll över linans bakre del för att förhindra allvarliga skador och dödsfall.
• Det är viktigt att alltid ha kontroll vid nedrning, eftersom det kan vara svårt att återfår kontrollen om man väl förlorar
den.
• Ändra inte något för utrustningen utan att först ha ett skriftligt medgivande från tillverkaren.
• Utrustningen ska inte användas längre om den har använts för att stoppa ett fall – om utrustningen har använts för att
genomföra en nedrning.
• Vid långa nedrningar kan nedrningsbromsen, beroende på hastighet och belastning, bli varm och får inte vidröras
på andra ställen än handtaget och linan.
• Robusta arbetshandskar måste användas för att undvika att händer och ngrar skadas!
• Om produkten exporteras ska återförsäljaren tillhandahålla en översättning av dessa bruks-, underhålls- och kontroll
anvisningar på det ofciella språket i det land där produkten ska användas.
Beroende på avstånd, hastighet och belastning vid långa nedrningar (över 80 m) kan det komma rök från nedrningsbromsen och
från linan, där den kommer ut ur utrustningen.
Vid fuktiga/våta förhållanden kan det upplevas som ”mycket rök”.
Både värme som genereras och rök är kända faktorer som har utvärderats noga vid utveckling och certiering. Om utrustningen
används i enlighet med anvisningarna i denna bruksanvisning tillsammans med lämplig utbildning, vid behov, kan användaren
genomföra en säker nödevakuering från upp till 200 meters höjd vid en belastning på max. 140 kg.

5.4. NEDFIRNING
1. Öppna väskan för att komma åt Smartline X.
2. Lägg förankringsslingan runt ett konstruktionselement och genom karbinhaken (bild 1A).
ANMÄRKNING: Konstruktionselementet måste klara av en belastning på 12 kN.
Om förankringsslingan placeras runt ett vertikalt konstruktionselement ska den dras runt detta två gånger och sedan genom
sig själv. Fäst därefter karbinhaken enligt bild 1B. Kontrollera att förankringsslingan låses fast. I bild 1C visas hur man fäster
karbinhaken till en fast förankringspunkt i konstruktionen, EN 795 klass A.
3. Fäst nedrningsbromsen i en infästningspunkt på selens framsida (bild 2) – (vi rekommenderar selens nedre infästningspunkt
(EN 813) med karbinhaken. Kontrollera att båda karbinhakarna är helt låsta.
4. Sträck upp eventuellt slack i linan genom att dra linans fria ände mot förankringspunkten tills linan är sträckt. Sätt dig försiktigt
tills hela din vikt bärs av linan. Utsätt inte utrustningen för dynamisk belastning.
5. Kontrollera att nedrningen inte störs av yttbar utrustning, andra hinder eller strömförande kablar. Linan får inte ligga över
vassa kanter. Om du är osäker på om linan når ända ner till marken kan du dra ut den ur väskan och släppa ned den till
marken. Detta får inte göras om det nns en risk att linan fastnar i yttbar utrustning eller andra hinder.
6. Starta nedrningen med hjälp av Smartline X (bild 3A).
7. Du reglerar nedrningshastigheten genom att hålla ena handen på handtaget och andra handen på linan under bromsen.
Starta med linan vinklad nedåt från spåret såsom visas i bild 3B. Om handtaget trycks nedåt ökar hastigheten. Om handtaget
dras uppåt eller släpps avbryts nedrningen. Öka eller minska friktionen genom att låta linan löpa in i eller bort från den smala
delen av spåret. Håll alltid i linan med ena handen så att nedrningen blir kontrollerad.
8. Vid långa nedrningar och tung belastning genereras mycket värme. Det kan till och med utvecklas rök inuti nedrnings
bromsen. Det är normalt och äventyrar inte säkerheten. Se till att bromsen inte kommer i kontakt med bar hud eftersom den
kan vara mycket varm.
NOTE: Den toppmonterade stötdämparen klarar av en statisk belastning på ca 140 till 150 kg. Vid nedrning kan, beroende på
hastighet och belastning, dynamiska laster på mer än 150 kg, t.ex. plötsliga stopp, leda till att stötdämparen öppnas delvis som en
säkerhetsfunktion för att minimera belastningstoppar på systemet!

5.5. RÄDDNING
Om en person är medvetslös eller på annat sätt inkapabel att ra ned sig själv kan han/hon räddas av en annan person med hjälp
av Smartline X.
Räddning utförs enligt följande:
1. Ta dig fram till personen som behöver räddas. Använd erforderlig fallskyddsutrustning så att du själv inte faller.
2. Ställ dig i en säker och lämplig position bredvid den skadade.
3. Öppna väskan och ta ut Smartline X.
4. Lossa karbinhaken från förankringsslingan. Lägg förankringsslingan runt ett konstruktionselement och genom karbinhaken
såsom visas i bild 1A eller bild 1B. Förankringspunkten måste tåla en belastning på 12 kN (EN 795). Fäst Smartline X
enligt bild 4.
5. Fäst karbinhaken i linans ände i en infästningspunkt på selen på den person som ska räddas. Om personen bär en
helkroppssele ska den övre infästningspunkten användas. Kontrollera att båda karbinhakarna är låsta.
6. Sträck upp eventuellt slack i linan genom att dra i linans fria ände enligt bild 5.
7. För över belastningen till Smartline X. Detta kan göras på två olika sätt beroende på vilken typ av fallskyddsutrustning som
används. Det är viktigt att användarna får utbildning och handledning i dessa metoder.
Person som hänger i justerbar fallskyddsutrustning
Efter att linan mellan förankringspunkten och den person som ska räddas har sträckts upp så mycket som möjligt (bild 5)
justerar du den belastade fallskyddsutrustningen så att personen sänks tills hela kroppsvikten har överförts till Smartline X.
Därefter kan den andra fallskyddsutrustningen tas bort och nedrningen kan påbörjas.
Person som hänger i icke justerbar fallskyddsutrustning
I en sådan situation ska Smartline X användas som ett blocksystem där belastningen överförs från fallskyddsutrustningen till
Smartline X. Gör en ögla på linan nedanför bromsen och dra den genom den karbinhake eller schackel som är fäst i selen.
Genom att linan dras såsom visas i bild 6 lyfts personen uppåt och belastningen yttas över från fallskyddsutrustningen till
Smartline X. Personen behöver bara lyftas lite grann för att fallskyddsutrustningen ska kunna avlägsnas.

8. Du reglerar nedrningens hastighet genom att hålla ena
handen på handtaget och andra handen på linan under
bromsen. Börja med linan i vinkel ut från spåret. Se till att
nedrningsbromsen är upp och nedvänd. Starta
nedrningen genom att dra handtaget uppåt (bild 7). Tryck
ned eller släpp hand taget om du vill avbryta ned rningen.
Öka eller minska friktionen genom att låta linan löpa in i
eller bort från den smala delen av spåret (se bild 3B). Håll
alltid i linan under bromsen med ena handen så att
ned rningen blir mer kontrollerad.
9. Kontrollera att nedrningen inte störs av yttbar utrustning,
andra hinder eller strömförande kablar. Linan får inte ligga
över vassa kanter.
10. När personen har nått marken: ge nödvändig vård och
tillkalla hjälp. Lossa repet från selen.
6 UNDERHÅLL, FÖRVARING OCH PERIODISK KONTROLL
6.1. FÖRVARING
Smartline X får inte exponeras för eller förvaras tillsammans med kemikalier. Smartline X måste skyddas mot hög värme, UV-ljus,
direkt solljus, hög luftfuktighet, vassa kanter och annat som kan påverka utrustningens säkerhet.
6.2. UNDERHÅLL
Eftersom Smartline X är avsedd för engångsbruk behövs inget underhåll. Om det nns misstanke om fukt i väskan eller eventuella
skador på utrustningen måste den kontrolleras enligt avsnitt 4. Alla reparationer eller ändringar ska utföras av ett organ som har
godkänts av tillverkaren.
Varning! Låt utrustningen självtorka avskilt från direkt värme och UV-ljus om den blir våt.
6.3. TRANSPORT
Under transport får Smartline X inte exponeras för vassa föremål, kemikalier, UV-ljus eller annat som kan skada utrustningen. Den
ska också skyddas mot fall, krosskador och slag.
6.4. KONTROLL AV UTRUSTNING
Egenkontroll före användning beskrivs i avsnitt 4.
Smartline X måste genomgå periodisk kontroll som utförs av en behörig person minst en gång per år. Denna person måste vara
väl bekant med hur samtliga komponenter i utrustningen ska kontrolleras och veta i detalj hur de fungerar.
Väskan måste alltid öppnas i samband med den periodiska kontrollen. Reparationer och byte av delar får endast utföras av
CRESTO AB i Sverige eller ett organ som godkänts av CRESTO AB.
Varning! Regelbunden översyn ska göras eftersom användarnas säkerhet hänger på att utrustningen alltid är effektiv och slitstark.
Utrustningsloggen på sista sidan ska uppdateras vid varje periodisk kontroll, underhåll och reparation och varje annat förhållande
som berör säker användning av utrustningen, om inte databasen CRESTO INSPECTOR används.
Smartline X är försedd med ett RFID-chip som ansluter utrustningen till CRESTO INSPECTOR för att enkelt spåra enheter och
underhållstillfällen.
RFID-chippet sitter i märketiketten (se avsnitt 8).
6.5. KONTROLLPUNKTER
• Stötdämpare: kontrollera funktion, material och sömmar beträffande skador såsom jack, revor, nötning, fransar, missfärgningar,
brännskador eller kemiska skador och fukt.
• Kopplingar: spärrfunktion, nötning, deformationer, korrosion, sprickor och jack.

• Utrustning: intakt tätning, nötning, deformationer, sprickor, jack och korrosion.
• Lina: beträffande öglor i materialet, skador, jack, revor, tecken på kemikalier och försämring på grund av UV-ljus, missfärgning,
brännskador och fukt.
• Märkning: kontrollera att märkning, serienummer och tillverkningsdatum går att läsa.
7 BRUKBARHETSTID
Om utrustningen förvaras och underhålls i enlighet med dessa anvisningar:
• Linan har en maximal livslängd på 7 år från tillverkningsdatum.
• Aramidslingan (tillval) har en maximal livslängd på 7 år från tillverkningsdatum.
• Plast och andra komponenter som inte är i metall har en maximal livslängd på 10 år.
Om du är osäker på om en viss komponent är säker att använda ska Smartline X-utrustningen tas ur bruk. Alla underhållsåtgärder
och ändringar ska utföras av tillverkaren eller en partner som har godkänts av tillverkaren.
7.1. HÅLLBARHET OCH ÅTERVINNING
Vi utvecklar och tillverkar premiumprodukter, med premiummaterial, som ska användas aktivt och hålla en lång tid.
När produkten tas ur bruk, eller när dess maximala livslängd löpt ut, ska den återvinnas enligt din lokala lagstiftning. Våra
produkter är gjorda av polyester, polyamid eller PVC och metallkomponenter. Vid behov, demontera metallkomponenterna före
återvinning. Du kan också skicka den kompletta produkten till Cresto så tar vi hand om återvinningen. Vi är engagerade i att
minska vår påverkan på miljön.

9 KOMPATIBILITET, DOKUMENTATION OCH
ÖVERENSSTÄMMELSE
All utrustning som används tillsammans med Smartline X ska kunna identieras som personlig skyddsutrustning och vara
CE-märkt, eller ha liknande referenser till nationella lagar och föreskrifter utanför EU beroende på var den ska användas.
9.1. SELE
Smartline X kan användas tillsammans med en sittsele som överensstämmer med EN 813, en helkroppssele som
överensstämmer med EN 361 eller en räddningssele som överensstämmer med EN 1497. Smartline X ska fästas i selen enligt

9.2. FÖRANKRINGSPUNKTER
Förankringsslingan används i byggnader/konstruktioner som saknar fasta förankringspunkter. Förankringsslingan ska helst läggas
runt bärande konstruktionsdelar. Dessa konstruktionselement måste tåla en belastning på minst 12 kN. Karbinhaken kan också
fästas direkt i ett konstruktionselement förutsatt att detta element tål en belastning på 12 kN och att karbinhaken inte utsätts för
oavsiktlig belastning.
Om specialutformade förankringspunkter används ska dessa överensstämma med EN 795.
9.3. LOGGNING OCH DOKUMENTATION
Denna bruksanvisning ska alltid åtfölja utrustningen. All specik information om utrustningen ska fyllas i formuläret på sista
sidan, om inte utrustningen är ansluten till databasen CRESTO INSPECTOR. Användaren ska ange vilka datum som utrustningen
har använts samt alla periodiska kontroller eller reparationer som utrustningen genomgår. Ägaren av utrustningen är ansvarig för
att se till att denna logg är uppdaterad, oavsett om det är på papperskopian eller via INSPECTOR-len.
9.4. ÖVERENSSTÄMMELSE
I egenskap av tillverkare intygar CRESTO AB att Smartline X överensstämmer med PPE förordningen 2016/425 och är testad och
