RS232 Splitter
The RS232 Splitter separates the
serial control of an M37 Music
Server (MK1 or MK2) into two
areas. In this way, with a large
Multiroom project and the 4 zone
server, it is possible to operate
two Multiroom systems at the
same time (zones 1-4 + zones 5-
8) independently of each other,
each with 2 zones (12 + 34 and
56 + 78). This has the
considerable advantage that only
one M37 Music Server has to be
maintained and there is no need
to synchronise two servers.
This advantage is achieved by
halving the independent M37
audio outputs in the
corresponding Multiroom systems
as now, in the case of an M37
with 4 audio outputs, the first
Multiroom system is supplied from
server outputs 1 and 2 and the
second Multiroom system, from
server outputs 3 and 4.
Of course, the separation of the
M37 audio outputs doesn't just
work with a 4 zone server but with
a 2 zone server as well.
The separation of the audio signal
results from the modified cabling
of the cinch cables.
There is an overview of the zone
separation on pages 8 and 9.
Note
The RS232 Splitter works
without a micro-processor and
therefore doesn't require a
software update.
