M3 Upgrade Guide
There are two ways to upgrade M3 with network cable or serial cable.
1. Package Upgrade
File name: M3_package_xx.bin
1.1. Connect device with PC
1: Connect M3 and PC by LAN cable (Figure 1).
2:Connect M3 and PC by RS232 convert USB cable (Figure 2 and 3).

1.2. Power on the M3
Please disconnect input and output signals before upgrade.
1.3. XTOOL Connection Setting
1.3.1. After installation, open the XTOOL .Click“Language/语言（L)”on the top
left corner to switch the language as the figure shown:
1.3.2. Connection setting:
Connected by LAN cable：Click [Connection], Select [Net comm] and set the same IP

address with the device ( device IP address default: 192.168.0.100 ). Click [OK] .If it is
success, it will pop up the dialog box as the figure shown [Set IP address success!].
Connect by serial cable：Click [Connection], the dialog box will pop up , select [Serial
comm] , find the right COM port and set the baud rate to 115200, click OK. If it is
success, it will pop up the dialog box as the figure shown[Set serial port success!]
1.3.3. If connection succeed, the light( on the left corner) will turn blue. Users can
check the device type and SN on right corner .
1.4. Select Upgrade File and Upgrade
1.4.1. Select the .bin file in the “Upgrade File”.
1.4.2. Click“all” XTOOL will tick the different subroutine firmware automatically.
1.4.3. Click "upgrade" and it will pop-up "whether to upgrade firmware" dialog box,
click "OK" to upgrade.

1.4.4. Check the upgrade progress by scroll bar, you can press the "stop" to stop the
upgrade.
1.4.5. After upgrade finished, it will pop up the dialog box [Update new version
done!]. And there is a beeping noise, after the noise disappeared, click [OK]
and restart the device.
2. 4K Input Firmware Upgrade
File name: M3_4K_package_xx.bin
2.1. If the M3 equipped with a 4K input board, after upgrading package firmware
then restart the device. Load “M3_4K_package_xx.bin” on XTOOL, use the
same way to upgrade 4K Input board.
2.2. When finished the upgraded the "New Version Upgrade Complete" dialog box
will pop up and restart the device.
Remark：There is no buzz voice after the upgrading, so just restart the device.
Step1:Click “bin File”and choose
firmware you need to upgrade.
Step2:Click “all”.
Step3:Click “Upgrade”.
Step4:Select “ok”and start to upgrade.

3. PGM Board TF Card Update
If M3 effect mask images are lost,you need re-upgrade the contents in “PGM Board
TF Card” . The upgrade steps as follows:
3.1. Take out the TF card as the red circle shows:
3.2. Plug it to SD card or TF card reader；
3.3. Push the SD card（or card reader) to the PC，delete the old content and copy
the new one’s folder“EFFECT”,“IMAGE”,“LOGO”,“OSD”,“STILL” and 255.bmp file
to the TF card root directory.
3.4. After that put the TF card back to PGM board.
