2. DESCRIPTION AND PROPERTIES OF THE MACHINE
RHODE-UVC sterilizers are designed for the decontamination of rooms based on the use of UV-C ultraviolet
radiation. RHODE UV-C single-function flow devices are based on an internal ventilation system. The air sucked into
the sterilizer chamber passes through the filter located close to the inlet. Here, larger particles are blocked to prevent
contamination of the germicidal lamp reflectors. Then the air is passed directly through a low-pressure mercury lamp,
which, thanks to UV-C rays with a precisely emitted wave length of 253.7 nm, destroys all microorganisms.
Returning disinfected and purified air is released through the end nozzle, which completes the process of effective
cleaning.
The design of the single-function sterilizer does not cause a threat to people staying in the room during
operation.
The dual function sterilizer allows the use of independent room lighting by switching on external UV-C
radiators. In such a situation it is forbidden for people and animals to stay in the sterilized room.
The device guarantees continuous air sterilization with a capacity of up to 60 m³ / h.
This device can be used only inside buildings, in the temperature range from 5 to 40 ° C [41 to 104 ° F] and humidity
25 to 75%.
A voltage tolerance of up to 10% of the nominal value is allowed.
3. SAFETY INFORMATION
3.1HEALTH AND SAFETY INFORMATION
The RHODE UV-C sterilizer is a potentially dangerous electrical device.
To avoid electric shock, the device requires connection to an electrical system equipped with a protective
grounding plug.
The power plug must be easily accessible.
Secure the power cord against accidental damage.
A damaged cable should be replaced immediately with another one provided by the supplier.
Do not shorten or extend the power cord yourself.
The device may only be supplied with electricity which is in accordance with the information on the type plate
All electrical connections should be checked before operation. Damaged connections prevent working with
the device.
The device is only used for dry sterilization of indoor air.
It is forbidden to turn on the lamp power supply with the housing removed.
Switching on UV-C lamps may damage your eyesight!
Before starting maintenance work, disconnect the device from the power supply.
ATTENTION
UV-C radiation is harmful to the eyes and skin!
The radiators should not be switched on in open fittings when people or animals are nearby!

9. INSTALLATION
9.1 DELIVERY QUALITY
After removing the device from the packaging, check that the set is complete and that there are no external
damages that may have occurred during transport. If you notice any damage, please contact your dealer.
After unpacking and before starting, leave the sterilizer at room temperature for about 30 minutes to equalize
the temperature of the device with the temperature of the room in which it will be installed.
New UV-C radiators in the first phase of their work can emit a minimal amount of ozone, causing a
characteristic smell in the room. It is recommended to pre-heat the radiators for approx. 100 hours
without people being in the room during this time.
9.2 WALL/CEILING MOUNTING
The device should be installed in a convenient place ensuring optimal air circulation in the room and allowing
easy access for maintenance, away from sources of heat, vibration and moisture.
Make sure the wall or ceiling on which you mount the device is stable enough!
Using a template, mark the fixing holes on the wall surface with a pencil.
Drill 4 holes in the wall with a Ø 8 mm drill bit to a depth enabling proper seating of the wall plugs.

RHODE UVC 2020.02.01 Page7
Attention:
The set includes dowels for fixing in walls made of building ceramics, in the case of other walls, e.g.
plasterboard or wooden panels, it is necessary to use specialized fixings.
Screw the wall brackets (3) to the wall or ceiling.
Attach the RHODE UV-C sterilizer to the wall holders (3) with the fixing screws (4).
Adjust the angle of the UV-C sterilizer to the wall or ceiling optimally and tighten the screws (4) securely.
Do not cover or block the sterilizer inlet or outlet.
Before connecting the device to the power supply, make sure that the voltage present in it is correct, i.e.
230V / 50Hz. If it is correct, insert the plug into a socket.
The device is ready for use.
9.3 BASE/STANDFOOT MOUNTING
Using the optional tripod or base, the RHODE UV-C sterilizer can be used as a standing device.
A standfoot or base is an accessory and is not included in the basic set.
Assemble the standfoot according to the diagram shown in the overview drawing point 7.
Screw the tripod screw (12) into place on the side of the RHODE UVC sterilizer housing.
Mount the wheels by pushing them all the way into the seats of the standfoot’s base.
Place the standfoot screw with the assembled sterilizer in the central socket of the standfoot's base.
Do not cover or block the sterilizer inlet or outlet.
Before connecting the device to the power supply, make sure that the voltage present in it is correct, i.e.
230V / 50Hz. If it is correct, insert the plug into a power socket.
The device is ready for use.
10.OPERATION
10.1 GENERAL REMARKS

The sterilizer is equipped with air filters, the cleanliness of which should be periodically checked and, in the
event of significant pollution, replaced with new ones.
RHODE UV-C sterilizers can be additionally equipped with timers to control the working time of UV-C
radiators and to program work in daily and weekly modes. Timers are additional equipment and are not
included in the scope of delivery of the RHODE UV-C sterilizer in the basicoption.
10.2 REMOTE CONTROL NAVIGATION
The remotecontrolenableswireless on and off of the sterilizer and independent control of internal and
external UV-C radiators.
To activate the remotecontrolproceed as follows:
Start the sterilizer with the powerswitch (10), the internal and externalradiators of the sterilizerwillswitch on.
Switch off the sterilizerremotelyusing the OFFbutton on the remotecontrol.
Button A turns on internal UV-C radiators. Press again to turnit off.
Button B turns on external UV-C radiators. Press again to turnit off.
The ON buttonturns on bothinternal and external UV-C radiatorssimultaneously.
The OFF buttonsimultaneouslydeactivatesbothinternal and external UV-C radiators.
11.MAINTENANCE
11.1 GENERAL REMARKS
Before cleaning and maintenance work, make sure to switch off the sterilizer with the power switch (10) and
disconnect the plug from the socket.
Periodically clean the casing of the RHODE UV-C sterilizer from the outside using a cloth moistened with
soapy water, before removing the plug from the socket.
