Wheelchair Power Adapter Converter
User Manual
Description
The WPAC is a highly efficient DC-to-DC converter that is designed
to power your DynaVox speech generating device from your
wheelchair’s batteries. It connects to electronic power wheelchairs
to provide safe, clean, and regulated DC power to your DynaVox
device.

Installation and Use
Intended Use
The WPAC is suitable for services in the homecare, institution, and
transportation settings as a source of continuous or intermittent
power for any DynaVox device. The WPAC will also charge your
device during the time that it is connected and supplying power. It is
recommended that the WPAC not be left connected to a device for
long periods of time, as this could reduce the life of your DynaVox
device battery just as leaving on the DynaVox charger will do.
Mounting Considerations
The WPAC will get warm during normal operation. It must be
positioned so that the user can never touch it. It should be
mounted in an open-air environment, for proper ventilation.

If the wheelchair can recline, the WPAC must be positioned outside
of the wheelchair’s reclining motion.
Connection cords should be secured as neatly and tightly as
possible. This prevents any loose cords from “snagging” while the
chair is in operation.
Installation
Step 1 Plug the Input/Power cable into the Joystick Charging
Port.
Step 2 Run the cable to the position where you want to mount
the WPAC.
Step 3 Tidy up all excess slack and loose wire. Be Neat!
Step 4 Plug the Input/Power cable into the WPAC.
Step 5 Verify that the light on the Input panel of the WPAC
turns green.
Step 6 Connect the Output/Device cable to your DynaVox
device.
Step 7 Plug the Output/Device cable into the WPAC.
Step 8 Verify that the light on the Output panel of the WPAC
begins blinking green.
Step 9 Verify that the Power Indicator and the Charging
Indicator on your DynaVox device are both on.
