2General
This chapter contains more informationabout theBackup and Restore function for the
HortiMaX-Go!
2.1 Basic concept
−The backup and restore function is only available on the unit itself.
−The system uses the current HortiMaX-Go! log file system. This is called the backup
file in this document.
−Backups must be initiated by the user; there is no automatic backup option.
−The backup files are stored in the root directory of a USB memory stick.
−The restore function will only restore the latest backup file.
The system does not have file selection option.
No controller dependency is used when restoring a backup, i.e. the restore function
will restore any backup file from any unit.
−If the hardware configuration of the restored system is different from the
configuration during backup, you must rescan the Smart Switches.
−There is no file management in the unit. This means that the USB memory stick will
not be erased and new files will be added, until the memory stick is full.
−When restoring a backup file, you can choose to also restore the historical data. This
is useful when replacing HortiMaX-Go! units. We do not recommend using this option
if the user only wants to restore settings.
−Data will not be restored while the system is running, but during the next reboot.
Once the system is ready to restore the backup, there is a 15-minute time window
during which you must reboot the system. Otherwise the backup will not be restored.
−All settings will be restored, which means that certain settings (such as the date and
time settings) will need to be checked once the backup has been restored.
