• Before using the Ridge Ryder Solar Caravan Panels ensure the instructions
have been read and understood.
•TheSolar Caravan Panels are not intended for use by young children or
infirm persons. Please keep away from pets.
• Ridge Ryder Solar CaravanPanels aredesigned to charge most 12
volt battery types including : Flooded (Lead acid), Gel and Sealed/
Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) batteries.
• Always weartheappropriate Personal ProtectiveEquipment ( PPE )
when working near batteries. This includes gloves and eye protection.
•Ensurebattery is being chargedin a well-ventilated area . Explosive
gases mayescape from thebattery during charging. Never chargea
battery in a closed off space or in an area without ventilation.
•Never smoke, use an open flame or create sparks near a battery or charger
whilst chargingas gases may cause explosion. Please keep burning
cigarettes, flames or other ignition sources away from the charging battery
at all times.
•Do NOT attempt to use the Solar Caravan Panels ifthe cables or
plugs are damaged .Theseunits do not contain serviceable parts. To
avoid a hazard ensure thatany damageto the unit ,cable or plugs
are replaced by the manufacturer or service agent/ qualified technician.
• Do NOT disassemble the Solar Caravan Panels. The warrantywill be
void if this instruction is ignored.
•Do NOTplace the Solar CaravanPanels on fabric/leather/vinyl seats,
on the battery or balanced in the engine bay.
• Never charge a frozen battery, non-rechargeable, lithium ,calcium or dry cell
battery.
• TheRidge Ryder Solar CaravanPanels mayhave sharpedges – please
handle with care.
• Do NOT bend or scratch Solar Caravan Panels.
• Do NOT walk, sit or place heavy items onto the Solar Caravan Panels.
• Do NOT use a high pressure hose to clean the Solar Caravan Panels. Use
a clean microfiber cloth to clean panel surfaces
• For advice, contact the Poisons Information Centre in Australia (PH:13 11 26)
or the National Poisons Centre in New Zealand (PH: 0800 764 766)
• If battery acid makes contact with the skinor clothing, wash immediately
with soap and water.
• If battery acid makes contact with
the eyes, hold eyelids apart and flush the
eye continuously with fresh running water for at least 15 minutes or until the
Poisons information centre advises you to stop.
• If battery acid is swallowed,do not induce vomiting. Drinka glass of
water and seek medical assistance.

• Do NOT disassemble or attempt to repair the regulator.
• Power connections must remaintightto avoid excessive heating from
a loose connection.
• Only charge 12V batteries that comply with the parameters of the regulator.
•Battery connection may be wired to one battery or a bank of batteries.
• Keep in a dry well-ventilated area, these regulators are NOTwaterproof
and should not be fittedto the underside of thepanel. The warranty will
be void if this instruction is ignored.

UNIVERSAL SOLAR PANEL MOUNT KIT
This universal solar panel mount kit is a set of mounting brackets that
help to secure a solar panel to a desired surface,such as on a vehicle, boat
or roof.
This universal solar panel mount kit is suitable for varioussizedsolar
panels and solar panel frames of thicknesses between Size18mm to 40mm.
This universal solarpanel mount kit can raiseasolar panel to allow
increased air flow which can help reduce the solar panel temperature and
solar power loss.

o Load Overload Protection
Loadwill be switched offwhen 1.25times rated currentoverload
happens.Userhas to reduce load appliance, then press the button or
restart the regulator.
o Load Short Circuit Protection
Load will be switched off when load short circuit (≥3 times rated current)
happens. User has to clear short circuit , then press the button or restart
the regulator.
o High Voltage Transients Protection
Theregulatorisprotectedagainstsmallhigh voltage transients. In
lightning prone areas, additional external suppression is recommended.

o Battery Over Voltage Protection
When the battery voltagereaches to the set point of OverVoltage
Disconnect Voltage (OVD), the regulator will stop charging the battery to
protect the battery from being over charged.
o Battery Over Discharge Protection
When the battery voltage reaches to theset point of Low Voltage
Disconnect Voltage (LVD), the regulator will stop discharging the battery
to protect the battery from being over discharged.

6. SOLAR PANEL INSTALLATION GUIDE
Part List
The caravan solar panel should be mounted to a secure surface.For
more information on installation of this product contactyour caravan
manufacturer or caravan seller for further instructions.
Please Note: some newvans have a diode fitted to prevent discharge
(equalisation) with a car battery when the alternator is not operating.
1. Corner mounts should be positioned around the four corners of the solar
panel.
2. To prevent the solar panel from curving in the middle, add the middle
mounts onto the middle section of the solar panel.

Step 1
Secure base of the corner mount (and the middle mount, if applicable). The
bases can be secured either by screws (not included) to the desired surface
through the holes at its bottom or you can secure by using strong adhesive
(not included) to the bottom of corner mount or middle mount.
Make sure that you position all the bases in a way that solar panel can fit in
between precisely.

Step 3
Secure solar panel by fitting the mount covers and securing with locking
screws provided.

Place solar panel on top of the bases.

Step 4
Thisuniversal solar panel mount can handle any solar panel frame with
thicknesses between 18mm and 40mm Max. Soft material, such as rubber,
can be placed in-between the screw and the frame to prevent scratch and
damage on the frame.

1. Load ON/OFF Setting
When the regulator is powered on, press the button to control the load
output.NOTE: The USB will output when the load is on.
2. Battery Type Setting
Operation:
Step 1: Enter setting mode by pressing button for 5 seconds until the
battery status LEDs are flashing.
Step 2: Select the desired mode by pressing button.
Step 3: The mode will be saved automatically without any operation for 5
seconds and LED will stop flashing.

Q. Are the Solar Caravan Panels waterproof or water resistant?
A.Yes. Provided the Caravan Panels have been mounted correctly they will
operate in most weather conditions. Please Note: The Solar Regulator is
NOT waterproof or water resistant. For a regulator that is water resistant
please see your local Supercheap Auto store.
Q. Are the Solar Caravan Panels suitable for lithium batteries?
A. No. Please see the your local Supercheap Auto store for lithium battery
chargers.
Q. Are the Solar Caravan Panels suitable for 6/12/24Volt batteries?
A. No. The Solar Caravan Panels are only suitable for 12volt Batteries.
Q. Can the Solar Caravan Panels be left on the battery permanently?
A. It is recommended that the Solar Caravan Panels are checked regularly
as leaving a battery on charge permanently may cause damage to your
battery.
