PV-ezRack® DFendr - Solar Skirt is a universal mounting
accessory to keep birds and wind-blown debris and
leaves away from the solar PV system on roofs.
Please review this manual thoroughly before installing
Solar Skirt. This manual provides:
1) Simple introduction of the installation relating to Solar
Skirt;
2) Planning and installation instructions for Solar Skirt.
- Introduction -
The Solar Skirt parts, when installed in accordance
with this guide. During installation, and especially
when working on the roof, please comply with the
appropriate Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Please also pay attention to any other relevant State or
Federal regulations. Please check that you are using the
latest version of the Installation Manual, which you can
do by contacting Clenergy via www.clenergy.com or
contacting your local distributor.

Note:
Considering the height (130 mm) and flexibility of Solar Skirt, it is recommended to solar skirt only for the gap 100 to
130 mm between underside of the PV panel and roof.
Most of PV-ezRack interfaces can provide required gap.
Here are the interfaces list below:
Tile Roof Interfaces: ER-I-01, ER-I-01/EZC/ECO, ER-I-01/CS, ER-I-51, ER-I-23, ER-I-26
Penetrative Tin Roof Interfaces: ER-I-05/EZC/ECO, ER-I-25
Non-penetrative Tin Roof Interfaces: Klip-lok bracket with Cross Connection Clamp (EZ-AD-C43)

Clip Installation
Attach spring clips to the underside of the PV panel frame
with the small lip facing up.
Note:
minimum frame width (D) is 12 mm

For installations up to 10 m building height and at terrain
category not less than 2.5, please refer the table on the right
for number of clips per 1 m long Solar Skirt.
Solar Skirt Installation
1) Bend the Solar Skirt strips so that it can give room for a
hand to reach and hold clip.

3) At the PV solar panel corner, cut a “V” shaped 45 degree notch and bend into 90 degree shape, install the Solar Skirt
following steps 1) and 2).
2) Insert the upper frame of the Solar Skirt into the clip mounted on the PV
panel frame and push the clip against Solar Skirt till it is fully in place.

Note:
If clip is pushed off from panel frame, it is recommended to press it again
with the plier to maintain a good strength.
4) At the place of having ECO-Rail obstruction, cut about 35 mm long opening of the Solar Skirt to fit it in.
