GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION

purchasedtheproductifyounoticeanyproblems.
b Thissystemmustbeinstalledbyalegallyqualified
heatingengineer.Oncompletionoftheinstallation,
theinstallermustissuetheownerwithadeclaration
of conformity confirming that the installation has
been completed to the highest standards in com-
pliance with the instructions provided by rin
this instruction manual, and that it conforms to all
applicablelawsandstandards.
b This RESIDENCE COLONNA CONDENS boiler
must be used only for the proper purpose for
whichit is designed and made. The manufacturer
declines all responsibility, contractual or other, for
damagetopropertyorinjurytopersonsoranimals
causedbyimproperinstallation,adjustment,main-
tenanceoruse.
b If you notice any water leaking from the boiler,
disconnectitimmediatelyfromthemainselectricity
supply, shut off the water supply, and notify your
local rTechnicalAssistanceCentreoraquali-
fiedheatingengineerimmediately.
PRECAUTIONS
Observethefollowingprecautionstoensuresafeopera-
tionoftheboiler.
a Do not allow children or infirm persons to operate
theboilerunsupervised.
a Donotoperateanyelectricaldevicesorequipment,
including switches or domestic appliances, etc.,
if you can smell fuel or fumes. If you detect any
suspicioussmells:
- Ventilatetheroombyopeningalldoorsandwin-
dows.
- Closethefuelshut-offcock.
- Report the fault immediately to r’s Technical
AssistanceServiceortoaprofessionallyqualified
heatingengineer.
a Donottouchtheboilerwhenbarefootorwet.
a Never clean or service the boiler without first
disconnectingitfromthemainselectricitysupplyby
turningthemainsswitchOFF.
aDo not tamper with or adjust the safety or control
devices without prior authorisation and instructions
fromtheboiler’smanufacturer.
b Periodically, and when the system is cold, check
that operating pressure in the heating circuit is
between 1 and 1.2 bar. If water pressure is con-
sistently low, contact r’s Technical Assistance
Service or a professionally qualified heating engi-
neer.
b Iftheboilerisnotgoingtobeusedforanextended
periodoftime,proceedasfollowstoprepareitfor
shutdown:
- TurnthemainspowerswitchOFF.
- Closetheboiler’sfuelcockandwatercock.
- Drainthecentralheatingcircuitifthereisanyrisk
offreezing.
b Theboilermustbeservicedatleastonceayear.
b If the boiler is destined to heat low temperature
(under-floor)heatingsystems,itmustbefittedwith
anaccessorymixervalvekit.
b This instruction manual is an integral part of the
boiler. It must be kept safe and must ALWAYS
accompany the boiler, even if it is sold to another
owner or transferred to another user or to another
installation. If you damage or lose this manual,
order a replacement immediately from your local
TechnicalAssistanceCentre.
a Neverpull,disconnect,ortwisttheelectricalcables
coming from the boiler even if it is disconnected
fromthemainselectricitysupplyatthetime.
a Do no obstruct or restrict the vents in the room
wheretheboilerisinstalled.Adequateventilationis
essentialforcorrectcombustion.
a Donot expose the boilerto the elements. It isnot
designedforuseoutdoors.
a Do not switch the boiler off if outside temperature
dropsbelowZERO(riskoffreezing).
a Donotstorecontainersofflammablesubstancesin
theroomwheretheboilerisinstalled.
a Donotdisposeofpackagingmaterialintotheenvi-
ronment, or leave it within the reach of children,
sinceitcanbecomeapotentialhazard.Disposeof
packaging material in compliance with applicable
legislation.
