Toassembleyoursander:
1.Using13mmwrenches,loosenthefourmotor
mounthexbolts(Figure6)soyoucanadjustthe
motorpositioninthenextsteps.
2.Withassistance,positionthebelthousingas-
semblyontheleftsideofthebase,takingcare
nottopinchthepowercordsbetweentheassem-
blyandthebase.
3.PlacetheV-beltaroundbothpulleys,and
securethebelthousingassemblywiththetwo
washers(seeFigures7&8)donotfullytighten
thefastenersfornow.
4.Centerthemotorarborinthecutoutofthecast
irondiscguard(seeFigure9),thenre-tightenthe
motormounthexbolts.
5.Positionthebelthousingassemblysothere
pressureisappliedtotheV-beltbetweenthepul-
leys(seeFigure10)thenfullytightenthecap
screwstosecurethebelthousingassemblyin
place.
6.InsertoneM4-.7x10Phillipsheadscrewand
oftheV-beltsafetycover(seeFigure11).Then
holditinplacewithascrewdriverasyouslide
thecoverovertheV-beltandtightenthefastener
intothecastirondiscguard.
7.SecuretherightsideoftheV-beltcoverwith
washer.
8.PositiontheV-beltrearcover,asshownin
Figure12,andsecureitinplacewiththe
M4-.7x40Phillipsheadscrewandflangenut.
9.Slidethealuminumdiscontothemotorarbor,
makingsuretoalignthearborkeywiththedisc
keyway.

whereholesaredrilledallthewaythroughthe
workbench,andhexbolts,washers,andlock
nutsareusedtosecurethesandertothework-
bench.Anotheroptionformountingisa Direct
Mount wherethemachineissimplysecuredto
theworkbenchwithalagscrew.
Note: Toreducevibrationwhenoperating,keep
therubbercushionincludedwithyoursander
betweenthemachinebaseandtheworkbench.
DustCollection
Toconnectadustcollectionhose:
1. Installa2 dusthosefromadustcollection
systemovereachdustport,andsecurethemin
placewitha2 hoseclamp.
2.Tugthehosestomakesuretheydonot
comeoff.
CAUTION
DONOToperatethissanderwithout
anadequatedustcollectionsystem.This
sandercreatessubstantialamountsofwood
dustwhileoperating.Failuretouseadustcol-
lectionsystemcanresultinshortandlong-term
respiratoryillness.

2.Placeamachinist'ssquareorother90
measuringtoolagainstthedisctableand
sandingdisc(seeFigure31).
3.Loosenthetablelockhandle,adjustthetable
squarewiththesandingdisc, thenre-tighten the
tablelockhandle.
4.LoosenthePhillipsheadscrewontheangle
pointer,positiontheredscalepointeroverthe
"0"markontheanglescale,thenretighten
thescrew.

ToadjusttheV-belttension:
1.DISCONNECTTHESANDERFROM
POWER!
2.Removethedisctable,dustport,dust
cover,andV-beltsafetycover.
3.Laythesanderonitsback,andloosen(but
donotremove) thetwocapscrewssecuring
thebelthousingassembly.
4.Positionthebelthousingassemblysothere
pressureisappliedtotheV-beltbetweenthe
pulleys(seeFigure10onPage14) then
fullytightenthecapscrewstosecurethebelt
housingassemblyinplace.
5.Check theV-belttensionandre-adjustif
necessary.
6.Re-install theV-beltsafetycover,dustcover,
dustport,anddisctable.
7.Usesameproceduretoreplacethebeltif
worn.
