2. Charging the system
There are two charging methods avai ab e for LiteWare HO.
• f ight case charger system
• sing e unit charger
Both charger options are designed specifica y for LiteWare HO. P ease DO NOT use any other charging
system as this can damage the battery base unit. The charging cyc e is approximate y 8 hours.
2.1 Flight case charger system
1 Ensure that the f ight case is p ugged into a mains supp y with the supp ied mains ead.
2 P ace the LiteWare HO into the f ight case. The battery base unit starts charging. During
charging, the button LED is on constant y. The battery is fu y charged when the button LED
f ashes. LiteWare HO is now ready for use.
Upon disconnecting mains power to the f ight case, a charged battery base units continue to f ash the
button LED. This is norma . To switch this f ashing button LED off, brief y ift the battery base unit out
of the case and rep ace.
2.2 Single unit charger
P ug the supp ied charger into the base of the battery base unit. During charging, the button LED is on
constant y. The battery base unit is fu y charged when the button LED f ashes.
Note: If you eave the LiteWare HO connected to the sing e charger without the charger connected to
mains power the battery wi f atten.
2.3 Lo battery
When the battery vo tage becomes too ow, the battery base unit goes to s eep and the TOP button
LED f ashes every few seconds. You must recharge the battery base unit before you can use it again.
2.4 Battery care
The LiteWare HO up ighter contains a sea ed ead-acid battery. The battery shou d not be eft in a
discharged state for ong periods because this wi reduce its capacity. We recommend eaving
LiteWare HO on charge permanent y when not in use.
Note: If you remove the battery, p ease observe the correct po arity upon reconnection.
The fo owing points shou d he p maintain the ong ife of your LiteWare battery:
• When in use, LiteWare automatica y switches off when the battery vo tage reaches a set ower
imit. This is to avoid any deep discharge damage of the battery. It is not recommended that
LiteWare batteries be eft for any pro onged period in this state.
• LiteWare shou d a ways be fu y re-charged as soon as possib e. Once fu y charged LiteWare
can be stored.
• If LiteWare is to be unused for ong periods, we recommend LiteWare is charged every two
months to keep the batteries topped up.
• If LiteWare is stored in hotter environments (above 20 degrees), we recommend a month y
storage charge.
• From market data, the estimated number of uses in a norma environment is around 200 cyc es.
This may be higher if LiteWare is not run to ‘turning off automatica y’ every time. We
recommend rep acing LiteWare battery every two years.
