Battery charge:
Before using the robotic base for the first time, or if you have not used it for a long
time, the battery should be charged.
To do this, connect the micro USB connector (type B) to the multifunction plug or
charging port of the robotic base (see figure below), and then connect the USB end
(type A) to an USB current adapter (maximum 2A).
To visualize the charge voltage of the battery it is necessary to connect a
Smartphone to the robotic base and follow the instructions shown in
user-guide.theroboboproject.com
If you connect the cable incorrectly, it could cause serious damage to the base.
The warranty does not cover any damage caused by misuse.
After fully charging the robotic base, disconnect it from the power supply. First
disconnect the micro USB cable from the base, and then from the electrical outlet.

During start up, the robotic base can perform a calibration movement of the pan-tilt
unit, which will rotate around its axis as indicated in the following image. Do not
obstruct or touch the pan-tilt unit until this movement is completed.
Once the pan-tilt calibration movement has been completed, the robotic base will be
ready for use.
Information on how to connect the Smartphone to the base and on how to use both
can be found at user-guide.theroboboproject.com.
Once you have finished using Robobo, remember to turn off the robotic base by
pressing the on/off button again. This will increase the duration of both the battery
and the base itself.

Security information:
This section contains information on security. In order to avoid injury to yourself and
others, or damage to the robotic base, read the safety information before using this
product.
In case of not complying with these safety regulations and warnings, the user could
suffer serious injuries.
Specific Robobo warnings:
Robobo is not indicated for children under 8 years old.
It must be used under the supervision of an adult.
Choking hazard.
This device contains small parts that could cause asphyxia in the case of being
ingested by a child. The packaging is not part of the robotic base, do not leave it within
reach of children. Keep it away from children under 3 years old.
The use of the robotic base may not be allowed in public places.
Check that its use is allowed in the place where it will be used.
It is recommended to use Robobo indoors or in clean and low exposed outdoor
environments.
Subjecting the robotic base to dust, sand, water, sun or other elements present
outdoor can damage it irreversibly.
Do not allow the robotic base to fall or subject it to strong impacts.
The base may be damaged or malfunction.
If it bends or deforms, the robotic base may be damaged and its parts may
malfunction.
The use of the robotic base to perform movements on a table or on any other raised
surface that lacks protections at its edges at is edges is not recommended to prevent it
from falling off. In case it is used this way, extreme precautions should be taken so
that the robotic base cannot fall off from any of the edges of the surface.
Any damage suffered by the Smartphone coupled to the robotic base due to
improper use will not be the responsibility of Manufactura de Ingenios
Tecnológicos S.L.
Avoid, therefore, excessive speeds, shocks and the use in heights or over irregular
surfaces that may cause falls that damage the Smartphone.
Do not use the robotic base if it is broken.
Take the base to Manufactura de Ingenios Tecnológicos S.L. service center for its
repair.
If you notice that the robotic base emits odd smells or sounds, or if you see smoke
or liquids coming out of the robotic base, stop using it immediately and take it to
Manufactura de Ingenios Tecnológicos S.L. service center.
If you do not do it, it could cause a fire or an explosion.
Do not disassemble, modify or repair the robotic base.
Any change or modification to the robotic base may void the manufacturer's warranty.
If you need to repair the robotic base and take it to a Manufactura de Ingenios
Tecnológicos S.L. official service center.
Do not disassemble or puncture the battery, this may cause an explosion or fire.
Electrical warnings:
Do not use damaged power cords or connectors or loose plugs.
Unsafe connections can cause an electric shock or fire.
Do not touch the power cord with wet hands or pull the cord to disconnect it.
Doing this may cause electrocution.
Do not bend or damage the power cord.
Doing so could cause an electric shock or fire.
Do not use the robotic base while it is charging or touch it with wet hands.
Doing so could cause an electric shock.

12
Do not short-circuit the robotic base.
Doing so may cause an electric shock or fire, or the battery may malfunction or
explode.
Do not use the robotic base outdoors during a lightning storm.
Doing so may cause an electric shock, or the robotic base may not work properly.
Do not use the robotic base in a hospital, on an airplane or in a car that could suffer
interference caused by radiofrequency.
If possible, avoid using the robotic base at a distance of less than 15 cm from a
pacemaker, as it may interfere with it.
To minimize possible interference with a pacemaker, use the robotic base only on the
opposite side of the body from the position of the pacemaker.
If you use medical equipment, contact the manufacturer of the equipment before
using the robotic base, in order to determine if the equipment will be affected by the
radiofrequency emitted by the robotic base.
If electronic devices are used in an airplane, they can interfere with electronic flight
instruments.
Do not keep the robotic base near magnetic fields.
It may start to malfunction and the battery may discharge.
