Assembly
The AM/FM Stereo Wireless Speaker Kit
includes right and left speaker units with
connector wires and a control unit with two
antenna wires. Each speaker must be spaced
no farther than 12" away from the control unit
to allow wire connections to be made.
Each speaker unit requires a 2¾" diameter
hole in the enclosure, and the control unit
requires a 2½" x 17⁄8" diameter pill-shaped
opening. The opening can be made by using a
Forstner bit to drill two 17⁄8" holes spaced 13⁄4"
apart on center and then cutting or chiseling
away the remaining material in between.
1. Determine where you want the speakers
and the control unit to be and mark the
locations for the holes.
2. Using the Mounting Hole Template
Shop Drawing (p.11) cut the 21⁄2" x 17⁄8"
diameter pill-shaped opening for the
control unit. You can use a coping or
scroll saw to cut the full opening or use
a drill with a Forstner bit (55985, sold
separately) or hole saw to cut two 17⁄8"
diameter holes spaced 13⁄4" apart on
center and then cut or chisel away the
remaining material in between. Fig. 1.
3. Use a coping or scroll saw or a drill with
a Forstner bit (56683, sold separately)
or hole saw to cut two 23⁄4" diameter
holes for mounting the left and right
speaker units.
The wires for the AM
and FM antennas are delicate. Handle
them with care when mounting them
inside the speaker enclosure.
Recommended interior dimensions of
speaker enclosure: 3½" x 3½" x 8".
A hollow box-type structure
is recommended.

4. Test fit the left and right speaker units into
their respective mounting holes. Then
press fit or, if desired, epoxy them in
place. Make sure you will have access
to the color-coded wires/connectors.
Be sure to wipe away any excess epoxy.
5. Connect the wires from the left speaker
unit to the control unit, pressing the white
connector at the end of the set of wires
into the white port on the back of the
control unit.
6. Connect the wires from the right speaker
unit and attached battery to the control
unit, pressing the blue connecter on the
other set of wires into the blue port on the
back of the control unit first and red
connector on the other set of wires into
the red port last. Fig. 2.
7. Carefully remove the backing on the
adhesive tape on the AM and FM antenna
wires connected to the control unit.
8. Fit one of the antenna wires as far as you
can away from the speakers inside one
end of the enclosure and press the
adhesive on the module(s) against the
underside of the top. Fig. 3 and 4.
9. Fit the other antenna wire as far as you
can away from the speakers inside the
other end of the enclosure and press the
adhesive on the module(s) against the
underside of the top. Fig. 3 and 4.
10. Push the wires inside the opening and
press fit or epoxy the control unit into
the mounting hole.
