This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the
limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the
FCC Rules.

Setting Up the SX-UP2 < If Your’re Using Windows >
Operating System Windows 98/Me or Windows 2000
(Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 are not supported.)
Computer Conditions 1) Computers preinstalled with Windows 98, Me, or 2000 at the time of purchase
(This includes such computers later upgraded to Windows Me or 2000.)
2) Computers on which USB operation is assured by the manufacturer of computers
• The ability to make a USB connection depends on the specifications of the computer. To determine whether the computer you're using
is capable of correct USB operation, check with the manufacturer of the computer.
• Do not use a USB hub or the like.
System Requirements
Installing the USB Driver
Windows 98
1. Place the floppy disk (USB driver for Windows 98/Me) in the floppy disk drive.
2. Switch on the product unit and connect the SX-UP2 cable. The [Add New Hardware Wizard] appears. Click [Next].
3. Select [Search for the best driver for your device. (Recommended)], then click [Next].
4. Select the [Floppy disk drives] check box, then click [Next].
5. The confirmation screen for driver installation appears. Click [Next], then click [Finish] to finish installing.
6. When the [Add New Hardware Wizard] appears, click [Cancel] to quit it. Install the included printer driver for the product unit sepa-
rately. If you already installed printer driver, the message for requiring printer driver appears. Click [Cancel], and cancel installation.
Windows Me
1. Place the floppy disk (USB driver for Windows 98/Me) in the floppy disk drive.
2. Switch on the product unit and connect the SX-UP2 cable. The [Add New Hardware Wizard] appears. Click [Next].
3. Select [Automatic search for a better driver (Recommended)], then click [Next]. Installation of the USB driver starts.
If installation does not start, follow the procedure for Windows 98 to install.
4. At the end, click [Finish].
5. When the [Add New Hardware Wizard] appears, click [Cancel] to quit it. Install the included printer driver for the product unit sepa-
rately. If you already installed printer driver, the message for requiring printer driver appears. Click [Cancel], and cancel installation.
Windows 2000
1. Log on to Windows 2000 as a member of "Administrators" or "Power Users" group.
2. Switch on the product unit and connect the SX-UP2 cable. The USB driver is installed automatically.
3. When the [Add New Hardware Wizard] appears, click [Cancel] to quit it. Install the included printer driver for the product unit sepa-
rately. If you already installed printer driver, the message for requiring printer driver appears. Click [Cancel], and cancel installation.

Specifying the Output Port
Make the setting for the output port used by the printer driver for the connected product unit, Roland CutChoice, or the like.
1. Restart your computer.
2. When printer driver or Roland CutChoice are not already installed, install them.
3. Select [USB00*] for output port.
*For more information about how to install and make the setting for the output port, refer to the documentation for the product unit.
Operating System Mac OS 8.6 to 9.X (except Mac OS 9.0.2 to 9.0.3)
Computer Conditions Use Macintosh which USB operation is assured by the manufacturer of computers.

Setup Procedure
*If you intend to use the SX-UP2 cable to connect the product unit with a Macintosh, first check to make sure the product unit is compat-
ible with the Macintosh.
1. Turn on the product unit.
2. Use the SX-UP2 cable to connect the product unit to the computer.
The SX-UP2 cable is a USB/parallel conversion cable for connecting a product unit from Roland DG Corp. to a USB port on your computer. You
can connect the product unit which is compatible with SX-UP2 cable.

1. 「Administrators」または「PowerUsers」のメンバーとしてWindows2000にログオンします。
2. 製品本体の電源をオンにし、SX-UP2ケーブルでコンピュータと接続します。USBドライバが自動的にインストールされます。
3. [新しいハードウェアの追加ウィザード]が再び表示されたときは、[キャンセル]ボタンで終了します。すでにプリンタドライ
バがインストールされていても、プリンタドライバを要求するメッセージが表示されることがあります。[キャンセル]ボタンを
クリックし、ファイルのコピーを中止します。
ポートの出力先を指定する
接続する製品本体のプリンタドライバまたはRolandCutChoiceなどの出力先のポート名を設定します。
1. コンピュータを再起動します。
2. プリンタドライバまたはRolandCutChoiceなどがインストールされていないときは、インストールします。
3. 出力先のポートは[USB00*]を選択します。
※インストール方法や出力先のポート名の設定方法については、製品本体の取扱説明書を参照してください。

セットアップ手順
※SX-UP2ケーブルを使って、製品本体とMacintoshを接続するときは、製品本体がMacintoshに対応しているかを確認してく
ださい。
1. 製品本体の電源をオンにします。
2. SX-UP2ケーブルで製品本体とコンピュータを接続します。
※Windows98/Me用USBドライバは、当社ホームページからもダウンロードできます。(http://www.rolanddg.co.jp/download.html)
その他ドライバの入手が困難な方は、当社お客様窓口までお問い合わせください。(電話053-484-1213)
SX-UP2ケーブルは、当社製品とお使いのコンピュータをUSBポートで接続するためのUSBパラレル変換ケーブルです。SX-UP2
ケーブルに対応している機種と接続してお使いください。
システム条件

この装置は、情報処理装置等電波障害自主規制協議会（ＶＣＣＩ）の基準に基づくクラスＢ情報技術装置です。この装置は、家
庭環境で使用することを目的としていますが、この装置がラジオやテレビジョン受信機に近接して使用されると、受信障害を引き
起こすことがあります。
