1 - INTRODUCTION 1- INTRODUCTION
Cette spécification décrit les recommandations
d’utilisation du connecteur 2 voies 2.8 MCP. Le
connecteur est constitué d’un porte-clips, un
verrou secondaire, un joint interfacial et un CPA
qui assure une bonne connexion, (Connector
Positioning Assurance)
La conception des connecteurs permet de réduire
au minimum les risques d’un mauvais verrouillage
des contacts dans les boîtiers et les erreurs de
montage lors de la fabrication et de la mise en
œuvre des faisceaux.
Néanmoins, il faut respecter certaines
recommandations d’utilisation et de stockage pour
que la fabrication et le montage des faisceaux se
fassent correctement.
This specification describes recommendations of
use of 2.8 MCP 2 ways connector. The connector
is composed of a receptacle part a secondary
lock, a sealing The receptacle part has a mating
help slide. Mating assurance is guaranteed by a
CPA (Connector Positioning Assurance)
Design of connectors reduces the risk of wrong
mating of a contact in housing and mating error
during making and use of harness.
Some recommendations must be respected for
the use and the storage of connectors to make
sure that assembly and use of harness is correct.




3 SERTISSAGE DES CONTACTS – CRIMPING OF CONTACTS
Le sertissage des contacts doit être effectué en
utilisant les outillages TYCO en suivant les
procédures définies dans les spécifications de
sertissage TYCO et dans le plan client du contact
concerné.
Crimping of contacts must be done using Tyco
crimping tools respecting Tyco crimping
specification and Tyco contact customer drawing.

4 INSERTION DES CONTACTS – CONTACT INSERTION
4.1 Vérification - Control
Il est important de s’assurer que les contacts ne
sont pas déformés avant insertion car cela peut
être la cause d’un mauvais fonctionnement de la
connexion. Les spécifications de sertissage et les
plans des contacts donnent les déformations
acceptables des fûts de sertissage.
Confirm that the contacts are not deformed.
Deformations may cause damage or reduction of
performance of the connection. Crimping
specification of the contact and Tyco contact
customer drawings describe deformation limits
allowed for contacts.



4.2 Insertion des contacts – Contact insertion
S'assurer que le verrou secondaire est en position
pré-verrouillée avant d’insérer les contacts. Si ce
n’est pas le cas ouvrir le verrou suivant les
recommandations du paragraphe 5.1.
Si le boîtier a subi une chute, il peut être
endommagé. Ne pas utiliser le produit.
Le contact est polarisé. Il faut donc l'orienter
correctement avant de l'insérer dans le boîtier.
Le porte clip comporte 2 alvéoles en une rangée
numérotées 1 & 2.
Insérer les contacts dans le boitier jusqu’au
verrouillage primaire.
Il se verrouille grâce à deux lances en produisant
un "clic" tactile et audible. Enfin, le verrouillage
doit être vérifié en tirant légèrement (20N max)
sur le fil. Vérifier que le contact ne ressort pas de
la cavité.
Confirm that secondary lock is in preset position If
secondary lock is not in preset position, it must be
reworked using 5.1 paragraph instructions.
If receptacle or tab part falls down before use, it
may be damaged. Do not use the product.
The contact is polarized. It must be inserted with
good orientation regarding the housing.
The receptacle housing has 2 cavities on 1 row
numbered 1 & 2.
Insert the terminal in the receptacle housing until
the primary locking.
Contact locks in the cavity thanks to 2 lances with
a ‘clic’ tactile and audible sensation. Correct
locking of the contact must be checked by pulling
the contact lightly (20N max). Make sure the
contact can’t be withdrawn.





4.3 Activation du double verrouillage – Secondary lock activation
Une fois que tous les contacts sont insérés dans
le boîtier, il faut activer le double-verrouillage en
appuyant suffisamment fort sur le verrou
secondaire. La course en rotation du verrou
secondaire est de 15 dgr En cas de non respect
de la condition d’effort et de déplacement
(position finale) cela signifie qu’au moins un
contact est mal inséré.
Once all contacts are inserted in housing,
secondary lock must put in final lock position by
pushing on the secondary lock. The travel of
secondary lock is 15 dgr. If force and final lock
position is not respected, it means that at least
one contact is not correctly inserted.

5 DEMONTAGE D’UN CONTACT – EXTRACTION OF CONTACT
5.1 Désactivation du verrou secondaire – unlocking of secondary lock

Désactiver le verrou secondaire à l’aide d’un outil
spécifique. La course du verrou secondaire et de
15 dgr.
Unlock the secondary locking device by tool
specific. The travel of secondary lock Is 15 dgr.
5.2 Extraction des clips – extract the contact
Introduire l’outil de démontage (réf 1-1579007-6)
des clips dans le boitier en maintenant le fil à
l’arrière du contact. Lorsque l’outil est en butée
sur les linguets de verrouillage du contact dans
l’alvéole, tirer sur le fil pour extraire le contact.
Introduce extraction tool (number 1-1579007-6) of
contacts defined on the front side of connector in
the cavity. Push the tool in the housing,
maintaining the wire at the end of contact. When
tool is stopped on the locking lance of contact in
the cavity and the lance are deflected, pull on the
wire to extract the contact

6 ACCOUPLEMENT DES CONNECTEURS – MATING OF
CONNECTORS

Avant de commencer l’opération d’accouplement
porte clips/contre partie, vérifier que les
composants aient les mêmes détrompages
(couleur et mécanique)
.
Vérifier la position du CPA en position
prévérouillée (position haute).
Présenter et accoupler les portes clips sur la
contre partie. Ils se verrouillent grâce à une lance
en produisant un “clic “tactile et audible.
Déplacer avec un pouce le CPA (course 4 mm)
pour assurer le verrouillage de la lance.
Before starting mating operation make sure that
component have the same number of ways,
same coding (colour and mechanical).
Make sure that CPA is in preset position (high
position)
Insert receptacle part in tab part There are locks
thanks to one lance with a “clic” tactile and
audible sensation.
Move with the thumb the CPA (travel 4 mm) for
to ensure of locking lance.






7 DESACCOUPLEMENT DES CONNECTEURS – UNMATING OF
CONNECTORS
Déplacer le CPA et pousser perpendiculairement
de façon à défléchir la lance de verrouillage et
libérer le crochet .On peut alors désaccoupler les
connecteurs.
Move the CPA and push perpendicularly in the
way to bend the locking lance and liberate the
hook. We can then unmating of connectors.

