Product Positioning Statement
The RSS S-0808 is a compact, portable and
lightweight digital snake designed for both fi xed
and fl exible applications. It delivers 8in/8out
audio with remote controllable preamps,
phantom-power, 24-bit 96kHz A/D conversion as
well as choices of XLR, TRS line and even Hi-Z
capability to reduce the need for direct boxes.
The S-0808 supports multiple remote power
options including battery-power, embedded-
powered over REAC and power over Ethernet
(PoE).
Pair two S-0808 together for a complete point-to-
point 8x8 snake.
The versatility in power and input choices make
the S-0808 ideal for location sound, live sound
reinforcement, remote broadcasting and other
portable applications.
Applications
Location Sound
The S-0808 is ideal for location sound recording and sound design with the ability to be battery powered
as well as lightweight, rugged construction.
Mobile Broadcast
Connect up to four S-0808 units in various locations around an event or venue. Run a Cat5e cable from
each to an S-4000M REAC Merge Unit located in the broadcast truck. The S-4000M provides power to
each S-0808 as well as merges all I/O into a single stream. Control the preamps using the S-4000R or
remote control software via PC.
Live Sound / Festival /Installed Sound/Church
Use up to four S-0808 in combination with the S-4000M REAC Merge Unit to distribute I/O around a
stage. Put an S-0808 on the drum riser, another by keyboards, another with guitars and another with
background vocals. Allows fl exible stage confi gurations as well as provides power to each S-0808 stage
boxes.

S-4000M is not being used.
Included Battery Mount Adapter Plate Mount V-Mount (IDX) or Gold Mount
(Anton Bauer) battery plate on the side.
Mounting battery plate is convenient and ready to go. All screws
included.

gain using the S-4000R or PC remote
control software (S-4000RCS).
Control gain structure from either end of the snake including saving
frequently used confi gurations.
