Motor thermoprotector
The thermoprotector prevents the motor from overheating.
Control board pulse limiter
The pulse limiter prevents the motor from working if there is no pulse signal from the motor to
the controller.
Control board kill switch (public pools)
The kill switch prevents the motor from working insofar as the key switch is not operated
continuously until the respective position is reached.
Key switch/programming switch
The key switch locks the system and prevents the system from being operated unintentionally or
by unauthorised persons.
Intended use
Rollo Solar motors are intended for underwater use in private and public swimming pools.
Installation and start-up must be performed by a qualified specialist. The motors must be
connected according to the Rollo Solar installation guidelines. Only controller approved by Rollo
Solar may be used. The power supply must be between 24–30 volt DC. The operating
temperature of the motor is between 0 °C and 40 °C. The systems may only be operated by
authorised persons with the proper training. The motors are to be used in pool water with a
quality corresponding to DIN 19643 for non-swimmer pools. The saline concentration agreed
with the retailer/customer and Rollo Solar may not be exceeded in the case of swimming pools
operated with saline water.

Symbols on components
During the (re)commissioning of the pool cover, the ‘ZU’ (OPEN) and ‘ZU’ (CLOSED) end
positions of the swimming pool system must be monitored and adjusted if necessary in
accordance with these operating instructions.
The distribution box must be installed and must be freely accessible at all times on the
edge of the pool; any deviations in the installation are prohibited! The length of the
conduit between the drive and distribution box should be max. 3.5 m.
Switch off the power supply prior to any work on electrical components (controller,
motor, switches)! Electrical connection work may only be carried out by a qualified,
skilled electrician.

General operating and safety instructions
It is important that these instructions are followed to ensure personal safety and prevent damage
to property. Keep all safety information and instructions for future reference.
