Removableinstallationframe.Thefireplaceinsertisfirstembeddedandthenfittedwiththedesignframe.
Thissavesalotoftroublecomparedwithinserts,wheretheframeisafixedpartoftheinsert.The
framealsoallowsaninaccuracyofapprox.8mm.Furthermore,youcanchoosefromthree
differentdepthsofinstallationframes,whichgivesyourembeddedinsertanoriginalappearance.

Self‐closingdoor.Foryoursafety,thedoorofthefireplaceinsertisequippedwithareturnspring,which
closesthedoorifyouforgettodoso.Thispreventsthedangerousconsequencesofahotpieceof
woodfallingoutofthefireplace.Ifyouarenothappywiththissafetymeasure,foranyreason,the
springcanbeeasilyremoved.

Doubleglazing.Thedoorofthefireplaceinsertisdoubleglazed.Theouter
glassisequippedwithamodernblackprint,andtheinnerglassis
platedwithaheatreflectivelayerreflectingheatradiationbackinto
thefireplace.Thiscombinationminimizestheradiationenteringthe
surroundingsthroughtheglazingandthusincreasesusercomfort.
Whenmovingneartheinsert,youwon’tfeelheatassharpasnear
insertswithnormalglazing.Doubleglazingwithreflectiveglassalso
maintainsthemaximumtemperatureinthefireplace,which
ensuresidealfuelcombustion.


Combustionchamber.Thefireplaceinsertisequippedwithaschamottefurnace,whichensuresahigh
temperatureinthefireplaceandthusidealcombustion.Thefireplaceisequippedwithatilted
schamottedeflectoratthetoptoslowfluegasflow,whichcausesfluegasestochurnandthe
remainingvolatilefuelcomponentsarecombusted.Slowingfluegasesalsomakesheat
transmissiontothehot‐waterexchangermoreefficient.Inaddition,schamotteisanaffordable
materialandthereforethereisnoriskofhighinvestmentincaseitisinadvertentlydamaged.

Inclinedgrateandashpan.Duringthecombustionprocess,ashfallsdownthroughthegrateintotheash
pan.Theashpanisdesignedasacloseableboxwithahandle.Thispreventsitspillingoutinthe
interiorwhenyoutaketheashout.









Centralairintake(CAI)isamodernandeffectivemeansofsupplyingtheinsertwiththeairrequiredfor
combustion.1kgofwoodwith20%humidityconsumes8m³ofairforidealcombustion,i.e.foran
hourlyamountoffuel(4kg),upto30m³ofairperhourisrequired.CAIisusedwhenyoudonot
wanttouseuptheoxygeninthelivingarea.Primaryandsecondaryaircanbefullycontrolledbya
singlecontrolelement.




CAIisconnectedbymeansofoutletsontherearand
bottomside.Whentheinsertisembeddedinmasonry,
theentireaircontrolmechanismisaccessiblefromthe
insideandoutsideoftheinsertforpossibleinspection.
Atthesame,CAIenablestheinstallationofautomatic
combustionregulation,seebelow.Youcanconnectthis
methodofairintake,butitisnotrequired.



Preheatingcombustionair,Thefireplaceinsertisequippedwithchannelsforpreheatingairrequiredfor
combustion.Thankstothesechannelsthecombustionprocessimprovesandismoreefficient.

Airintakeregulation.Theamountofprimaryandsecondaryaircanberegulatedusingasinglecontrol.
Primaryairfacilitatesthestartoffuelcombustionwhenlightingthefireplace;secondaryair
improvestheefficiencyofcombustionanddecreasesCOemission.
Theamountofsecondarycombustionairis
preciselydividedintoairflowingalongtheinner
glassoftheinsertandairflowingatanangle
fromaboveintothecombustionchamberofthe
fireplaceinsert.Theairflowingatanangleinto
thecombustionchamberisaveryefficient
solutiontoensurethehighefficiencyandquality
ofcombustionduringperiodswhentheinsertis
operatedinthehigheroutputrange.
Inthesecases,alargeamountofvolatile
flammablematterleavesthecombustion
chamberintothetubeplateoftheexchanger
andthestreamofairdirectedintheopposite
directiontotheblazingflamesensuresmixingof
thevolatileflammablematterwithoxygenand
itsthoroughcombustion.

Thisfireplaceinsertensuressuchcleancombustionthatadditionaltertiaryairintakefor
combustionisnotrequired.Ifautomaticregulationofcombustionisinstalled,ittakesovercontrol
ofairintake.Theairintakeregulationsystemwasdesignedtoensurethatcombustionairintakeis
nevercompletelyshutoff.Thisisveryimportantwithregardtosafety,asotherwiseundercertain
conditions‐ifthedoorisopenedcarelessly‐fluegasesfromcombustioncouldexplode.

Hot‐watersheathingandfluegasexchanger.Thehot‐waterexchangerisrealizedthroughanexchangerin
thesideandbackwalloftheinsertandafluegasexchanger.Theexchangerisequippedwithribs
regulatingheatingwatercirculation.Theseribsalsoincreaseexchangerstability.Theexchangeris
testedforanoverpressureof5bar;permittedworkingoverpressureis2.5bar.

Fluegassystem.Theprincipleconsistsofthetriplepassageoffluegasthroughthetubeplateoftheflue
gassectionofthehot‐waterexchanger.Fluegasprogressivelypassesthroughthefirstrowof
tubes,whereitisdivertedintothesecondrowoftubesatthetopwiththeuseofaremovablesteel
deflector.Afterpassingthroughthesecondrow,fluegasisroutedtothethirdandlastrowoftubes



byaninclinedschamottedeflector.Thus,fluegashasenoughtimetoefficientlytransferheatto
theexchanger.Thankstopropersizingofthecombustionchamberandtheentirefluegaswayto
theflueoutlet,KV025W01and02achievepremiumemissionparametersintermsofbothcarbon
monoxide(CO)anddustparticles,whichgohandinhandwithhighefficiencyandcombustion
quality.

Cleaning.Routinechecksofthetubeplatearepossiblefromtheinsideofthecombustionchamberofthe
insert.Formorethorough(seasonal)checksandmaintenance,bothtypesofinsertareequipped
withacleaningopeningthatcanbetightlyclosedwithacover.Thecoverisfittedwithathick
insulationlayertolimitheatradiationtothesurroundingarea.Afterremovingthecover,youcan
seetwosteeldeflectors(markedredinthepicture).



Inspectiondoor.Onceembeddedinawall,accesstothecleaningopeningoftheexchangercanbeobtained
eitherusingasuitableventilationgrateorwiththeuseofthegenuineRomotopinspectiondoor.Flangesfor
theconnectionoftheintakeandoutletpipesoftheheatingcircuit,theaftercoolingloopandair‐outlet
valveareintentionallylocatedatthetopofthefireplaceinsert,nearthecleaningcover.This
arrangementnotonlyprovidescomfortableaccessformaintenanceofthefireplaceinsertitself,butalso
foranynecessarychecksandmaintenanceofheatingconnectionsandperipherals,aswellasapossible
temperaturesensorforautomaticregulation.Ifthefireplaceinsertisconnectedtothechimneyflue
usinganelbowwithacleaningopening,youcanusetheinspectiondoorforaccesstocleanfluegas
waysaswell.Thesizeoftheinspectiondoorcorrespondstothesizeoftheshallowinstallationframeof
thefireplaceinsertandcanbefittedwithanyimage.ThegenuineRomotopinspectiondoorcanbe
easilyremovedfromitsframewithouttheneedtouseanytools.





Aftercoolingloop.Foryourmaximumsafety,theexchangeris
fittedwithacopperaftercoolingloop,whichensures
safeandfastcoolingoftheinsert’sexchangerincaseof
overheating.Copperisoneofthebestheatconductors
andallowsthelooptoquicklydissipateexcessiveheat.
Thissituationmayoccurincaseofapoweroutageand
therebyashutdownofthecirculationpumpsofthe
heatingsystem.Theaftercoolingloopmustleadintothe
sewersystem;maximumworkingoverpressureisgiven
bytheaftercoolingvalveused.


Hot‐waterexchangerinsulation.ThehotwaterexchangeroffireplaceinsertKV025W01isequippedwith
anexternalcoverwiththermalinsulation,whichminimizesheatradiationfromtheexchangerinto
thesurroundingsofthefireplaceinsert.Alargeramountofheatthereforeremainsinthehot‐water
system.Thehigh‐qualityinsulationusedishighlyheatresistant(approximately1,000°C),haslow
heatconductivity,issafetohealthanditsfibersarebiodegradable.

Quality.Theproductionofthesefireplaceinsertsstartsfromthepreparationofintermediateproducts,
throughwelding,andendswithfinalpaintingonautomatedlinesandNCmachines.Thisprocess
guaranteeshighaccuracy,productionqualityandthequalityofconnectionmaterials.Each
fireplaceinsertundergoesatripletestoftheexchanger.Inthefirstphase,penetrationtestsare
performedafterwelding,followedbypressuretests.Afterfinalassembly,eachinsertundergoesa
pressuretestagain.Theaftercoolingloopisalsopressuretestedinawaterbath.


Tripleglazing.TheKV025W02modelisfittedwithoneadditional
glassinsert,whichkeepsthepenetrationofheatradiation
throughtheglazingoftheinsertatanextrememinimum.
Thankstotripleglazing,whichconsistsofprintedglass,
reflectiveglassandspecialreflectiveglasswithamirror
effect,thecustomercanenjoyaviewoftheflames
throughthelargeglazeddoorwithminimumheat
radiation.Thiscombinationofheat‐resistantglassoffers
thehighestnumberofreflectivesurfacestoreflectback
heatradiationemittedfromthechamberofthefireplace
insert.Duringperiodsofinactivity,themirrorglasscan
veryefficientlymaskthemessinsidethecombustion
chamberofthefireplaceinsertandgivesaverystriking
impression.


Hot‐waterexchangerinsulation,ThehotwaterexchangeroffireplaceinsertKV025W02isequippedwith
anexternalextendedcoverwiththermalinsulation,whichminimizesheatradiationfromthe
exchangerintothesurroundingsofthefireplaceinsert.Theceilingoftheexchangerisalsofitted
withacoverwiththermalinsulationinordertoreduceheatradiationthroughtheceilingintoits
surroundings.Thisadditionalcoverensuresthatthemaximumamountofgeneratedheatis
transmittedintothewater.Thehigh‐qualityinsulationused,similartothatusedintheKV025W
01,ishighlyheatresistant(approximately1,000°C),haslowheatconductivity,issafetohealthand
itsfibersarebiodegradable.

Quality.TheexpecteddeploymentofRomotopKV025W01,02fireplaceinsertsisinmodernairtight
buildings.Therefore,theirdesignandproductionhasbeenadaptedtotherequirementofachieving
maximumimpermeability.Ifyouwanttobecompletelysureyournewfireplaceinsertisairtight,
youwillalsoreceiveacertificateofairtightmeasurementperformedatRomotoponyourparticular
insert.Measurementiscarriedoutusingspecializedinstrumentsabletodetectleaksinfireplace
insertsevenatverylownegativepressurevalues.Theresultisthenexpressedinm³/hourand
recordedbythetestengineeronacertificatecontainingtheserialnumberofthemeasured
fireplaceinsert.

3. SOURCELOCATION

Thefloor,onwhichthefireplacewillbelocated,musthavesufficientload‐bearingcapacity.The
fireplaceinsertshouldonlybeinstalledbyprofessionals.FireplaceconstructionisdetailedinCSN734230.
Alwaysinstallthefireplacetoleaveatleast5cmbetweenthewallandthebackandsidewallsof
fireplaceinsertsheathing.Thesespacesarenecessarytoallowcoolingairtocirculateandthusprevent
overheatingofthesurroundingconstruction.Leavethesesspacesclearatboththetopandbottom.Create
ventsonthebottomofthefireplace(undertheinsert)toallowintakeofcoldconvectiveair‐atleast150
cm².Intheuppermostpartofthefireplaceextension,createventsfortheoutletofheatedconvectiveair.
Thetotaldiameteroftheventopeningmustbeatleast150cm².Ifthefireplaceisconstructedona
flammablefloor,thisfloorneedstoberemovedorinsulatedtoensureitstemperatureduringfireplace
operationdoesnotexceed50°C.Theflooratthefireplaceinstallationsiteandupto800mminfrontof,
and400mmtothesideofthefireplace,mustbemadeofnon‐flammablematerial.Thedistanceis
measuredfromthecloseredgeofthefireplace.Makesurethatreasonableaccessforcleaningthe
appliance,smokeflueandchimneyisprovided.
Nostructuralchangesormodificationsoftheappliancearepermitted.Alllocalregulations,
includingregulationsrelatingtonationalandEuropeannorms,mustbeobservedduringinstallation.You
shouldorderaprofessionalprojectbeforeconstruction.


4. READINESSATTHEINSTALLATIONSITE

a) Heatingsection

Aftercoolingloop:
Theaftercoolingloopisdesignedandtestedtofullyprotectthefireplaceinsertexchangerfrom
overheating.Connectacoldwaterintakewithatemperatureofupto15°Candminimumconstantpressure
of2bartotheconnectioncouplings.Pleasekeepinmindthatthewaterintakemustbeindependentof
poweroutage(preferablyawatersupplypipeline).Youcanusebothflangesoftheaftercoolingloopfor
intakeandoutput.Heatedwaterfromtheaftercoolingloopisemptiedintothesewersystem.The
maximumworkingoverpressureisgivenbytheaftercoolingvalveused.

Aftercoolingvalve:
Installtherecommendedaftercoolingvalveontheintakeoftheaftercoolingloop.Installafilterto
catchanyimpuritiesontheaftercoolinginputvalve.Insertthevalveheatsensorintooneofthesinks.

Automaticair‐outletvalve
Theair‐outletvalveisinstalledintothecouplingontheupperfrontsideoftheexchanger.Its
maximumpermittedworkingtemperatureis110°C.Thelocationofventilationopeningsintheupperpart
ofthefireplaceconstructionshouldthereforebedesignedwithregardtothisfact.




Fluegasexhaust
Thehot‐waterfireplaceinsertmustbeconnectedtoaseparatechimney,towhichnootherstove
orUTboilercanbeconnected,seeCSN734210.
Theactivechimneydiameterrequiredis180mm;therequireddraftis12Pa.Thiscorrespondsto
aneffectivechimneyheightofapproximately5m(measuredfromthecollartothechimneyopening).
Besidesbasictechnicalparameters,thechimneydraftisalsoaffectedbyvariousotherfactors,suchas
weather,location,chimneyhumidity,age,installation...Ifindoubtwhetherthegivenchimneyissufficient,
consultachimneysweeper.
Ifthedraftexceeds15Pa,werecommendanadditionalreductionofdraftbychokingthe
secondaryairintakewiththeinstallationofanadditionalfluegasshutterordraftregulatorofairintake
intothesmokeflue.
If,onthecontrary,thechimneydraftistoolow,werecommendusingachimneyventilator.

Thesmokeflueisusedtoexhaustfluegasesfromthesmokeoutletoftheapplianceintoapipeor
openspace.Thesmokeflueshouldbeasshortaspossible,withfluidchangesinshapeandminimum
surfaceirregularities.PursuanttoCSN734101,itshouldnotexceedalengthof3m*);ifthelength
exceedsthislimit,itneedstobeequippedwithinsulationtoensureminimumheatresistanceof0.55
m2.K.W‐1.Choosesmokeflueswithacleaningopeningthatallowsyoutocleanandchecktheflue.Smoke
fluesmustnotbeconductedtootherfloors,apartmentsorareaswheretheinstallationoffuelappliancesis
notpermitted.Smokefluescanpassthroughwalls.Ifthewallismadeofflammablestructuralmaterialsor
containsflammablecomponents,thesmokefluemustbesurroundedbynon‐flammablematerialwithvery
lowheatconductivity(CSN061008).



Thefireplaceinsertisequippedwithacentralairintake(CAI)forsupplyingtheairnecessaryfor
combustionfromtheoutsideoralternativelyanotherroom,e.g.acellar.
CAIisconnectedtothefireplaceinsertbyaminimally1mlongaluminumflexiblepipewithaninner
diametercorrespondingtotheouterdiameteroftheCAIflange,whichmaythenbecontinuedwithany
pipe(includingplastic)resistanttoatemperatureof80°C.Thelengthoftheintakepipeshouldnotexceed
5‐7m.Werecommendfittingtheinnersurfacewithinsulationtopreventcondensationofairhumidityin
theinterioratlowtemperaturesofintakeair(airfromoutsideduringwinter).Trytoavoidbending
(elbows),eachbendexceeding90°Cmayreducethedraftbyupto15%.







c) Electricwiring


Inordertoensurethetransferofheatenergyfromthefireplaceexchangerintotheheatingsystem
andaccumulationtanks,werecommendusingaregulatorthatprovideslogicalswitchingofthefireplace
circulationpump.Aregulatortemperaturesensorneedstobeinstalledinthefireplaceexchangersinkso
thattheregulatorreceivesinformationaboutcurrentfireplacetemperature.Inaddition,itisadvisableto
installanadditionalbackupthermostatonthehotwaterpipeoutletfromthefireplaceexchanger‐the
thermostatconnectionshouldbeconnectedparalleltothefireplacecirculationpump.Incaseofa
regulatordefect,thethermostatensuresthatthefireplacecirculationpumpswitchesonathigh
temperatures.Onesharedsafetybreakerisrecommendedfortheregulatorandthermostat.

(withsolarsystem),orDeltaSolM(withsolarsystem).Cablesfortheseindividualtypesof
regulatorsdifferandthereforethe2examplesdescribedbelowarethemostfrequentlyusedcables
withDeltaSolMandIR07SOLregulators,whichguaranteeintelligentcontrolofallcomponentsand
heatingsystemsources,includingthesolarsystem.


Theregulatorcontrols2sourcesofheat(thefireplace‐basedonacomparisonoftemperaturesin
thefireplaceexchangerandtheaccumulationtank+bivalentsource‐basedontherequiredtemperature
intheaccumulationtankforhotwaterandheating),thesolarsystem,1mixedequithermalheatingcircuit
andhotwaterheating.Thedescribedelectricconnectionoftheheatingsystemalsocorrespondsto

TheDeltaSolregulatorisinstalledonthewall,usuallydirectlyinthetechnicalroom(tominimize
cablelength).Heatingunitcontactors(bivalentsource)andheatingequipmentsafetybreakersmaybepart
ofthemainelectriccabinet;however,anauxiliaryswitchboardisusuallyinstalleddirectlyinthetechnical
