13. Installation
Remove all packaging
Check product to ensure that it hasn’t been damaged in transit. Check for any signs
of damage during transit. In the unlikely event that any problems are found, contact
ROMPA® immediately
To record a message
1. Pull the tab on the rear of the ‘Tin’ to activate the battery power.
2. Hold the ‘Tin’ in both hands with your thumbs over the two record buttons.
3. Press down with your thumbs and the red light will illuminate to indicate that
recording has begun. Make sure that both your thumbs remain pressed down so
that the red light remains on whilst you are recording. Speak clearly at a distance of
approximately 15cm (6”) and release your thumbs when you have finished
recording.
This product will allow you to record one single 20 second message. You can re-
record as many times as you wish. New recorded messages will override previous
messages.
The LOCK switch on the rear of the Talking Tin is redundant with the Yellow Tin (only
usable on Red Tins 20362). It is not possible to protect a message from being
accidentally recorded over.

OPERATION
To play a message:
1. Press the PLAY button once to hear your message.
2. There is NOT a volume control.
The magnets in the product allow the Talking Tin to be attached to a can or tin. This can be a
practical aid for verbally ‘labelling’ the contents of tins for the visually impaired.
There is a 2.4cm wide and 3mm high gap between the U section at the rear of the product
and the ‘Tin’ itself. This allows a thin belt or a piece of elastic to be passed through the Talking
Tin to allow the product to be carried. It also allows the Talking Tin to be tied to an object
e.g. a bottle.
14. Care and Maintenance
Store out of reach of clients –do not allow unsupervised use.
To replace Batteries
1. Each Talking Tin requires three AG13 (LR44) button cell batteries. With the rear of the
‘Tin’ uppermost, remove the U shaped section by loosening the three screws.

2. Remove the screw holding the battery compartment cover.
3. Replace all three batteries, observing the polarity required.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover and screws.
5. Use Alkaline batteries only.
6. Do not mix old and new batteries.
To clean:
Wipe with a soft, barely moistened cloth. Avoid abrasive and harsh cleaning
products as these will scratch the plastic.
Keep dry.
Once this product is eventually exhausted, please dispose of it appropriately.

Para gravar a mensagem
1. Puxe a aba na parte de trás da ‘lata’ para ativar as pilhas.
2. Segure a ‘lata’ com as duas mãos e com os polegares em cima dos dois botões de
gravação.
3. Pressione com os polegares e uma luz vermelha acende indicando que a gravação
começou. Deve manter os dois polegares pressionados para que a luz se mantenha
acesa durante a gravação. Fale claramente a uma distância de aproximadamente
15cm e solte os polegares quando terminar a gravação.
Este produto permite-lhe gravar uma mensagem simples de 10 segundos. Pode
regravar as vezes que quiser. As novas mensagens vão apagar as mensagens
anteriores.
O botão de bloqueio na parte de trás da lata falante serve para evitar que as
mensagens gravadas sejam apagadas acidentalmente.
