3. Removetheplasticprotectivecover(30)fromthestylus(29)andunlocktheToneArm
(27)byreleasingtheLockClip(28).
4. Placeyourrecordontotheturntableplatter(21).
5. Selecttheturntablespeedbyslidingthe33/45/78rpmswitch(26)ontherightsideof
theturntable.
6. LiftuptheToneArm,moveittowardstherotatingturntableandgentlyplaceitover
therecordwhereyouwishittostartplaying.
7. LowertheToneArmwiththeCueLever(24).Ifyouwanttostoptherecordplaying,lift
uptheToneArmwiththeCueLeverandplaceitbackontheArmRest(28).
AUTOSTOPFUNCTION
1. Ifyouwanttheturntablemechanismtostopautomaticallyattheendoftherecord,
ensuretheAutoStopSwitch(26)isintheONposition.
2. Ifarecordstopsplayingbeforetheendoftherecord,switchtheAutoStopSwitchto
theOFFposition.Theturntablemechanismwillcontinuetospinandtherecordwill
finishplayingtotheend.
Note:Placethe45rpmSpindleAdaptor(23)onthecentrespindlebeforeplacinga45rpm
recordontotheturntable,butonlyifthecentreclipismissing.

2. Pushthecassettetapeinanditwillautomaticallystartplaying.
3. PresstheEjectButton(33)gentlytoskipforwardandfullypressthisbuttontoejectthe
tape.
Note:Makesurethedirectioniscorrectwheninsertingthetape.Somesearchingnoisewill
beheard–thisisnormal.
Removethetapeaftereachuse.

CompactDiscCare
Toremoveadiscfromitsstoragecase,pressdownonthecentreofthecaseandliftthedisc
out,holdingitcarefullybytheedges.Fingerprintsanddustshouldbecarefullywipedoff
thedisc’ssurfacewithasoftcloth.Wipeinastraightlinefromtheinsidetotheoutsideof
thedisc.
Cleanthediscperiodicallywithasoft,lint‐free,drycloth.Neverusedetergentsorabrasive
cleanerstocleanthedisc.Donotfixlabelstothesurfaceofthediscsorwriteonthem
exceptwithspecialistCD‐Rpens.

CassetteCare
Twocommoncausesoftroubleexperiencedwhenusingcassettesare:
a. Tapejamming,leadingtounevenspeedduringplayback.
b. Tapeentangling,whenthetapewrapsitselfaroundvitalpartsofthemechanism.
Toavoidtheseproblemsoccurring,takethefollowingprecautions:
•Checkthattherearenolooselayersoftapevisiblethroughthecassettecentre
window(seebelow)
•Takeupanylooselayers,usingapencilorhexagonallybarrelledballpointpen,
beforeinsertingthecassette(seebelow)
Pleasenote:ifthecassettefeelstightwhilsttakinguptheselooselayers,thetapemay
bejammingduetoridgesformedinthewindingofthetape(visiblethroughthecentre
window).Inmostcases,thesemayberemovedbyfastrewindingofthecassettefrom
oneendtotheotherandbackagain.Themanufacturerrecommendsthatonlywell
knownbrandsofcassettesareused.Donotexposecassettestodirectsunlight,dustor
oil,andtakecarenottotouchtapesurfaces.

StylusReplacement/Refit
ToremovetheStylusfromtheToneArm,holdtheToneArmheadsteadywhilegrabbing
theredplasticStylusholderwithtwofingersthengentlypullthecompletestylusholder
straighttowardsyouandoffthesilvercartridge,asshown.
Toreplace/refittheStylus,holdthesidesoftheredplasticstylusholder,ensuringthe
needleisfacingdownwards.Gentlypushthebackofthestylusholderstraightagainstthe
silvercartridgeattheendoftheToneArmuntilyouaresureitissecurelyfitted.Refitthe
protectiveneedlecoverifrequired.
Pleasenote:Areplacementuniversal(45/331/3/78rpm)oraspecial78rpmStylusisavailable
fromsomedealersandthemanufacturer.AlwayshandletheStyluswithcareasthe
Sapphireneedletipiseasilydamaged.WhentransportingtheTurntableitisadvisableto
refittheprotectiveneedlecoveruntiltheunitisgoingtobeusedagain.Whenremovingor
re‐fittingtheStylus,alwaysbecarefulnottoputtoomuchpressureontheStylusHolder
andTONEARM(33)cartridgetoavoidanypossibledamagetothem.

STEP3
Tofixtheturntablebackontothephonograph
mechanism,makesurethecolumnpointis
positionedoverthecorrectplaceonthe
phonographmechanism,whileplacingtheaxisof
theturntableintheholeonthephonograph
mechanismasshown.
STEP4
Gentlyturntheturntableuntila‘plop’soundis
heard,whichindicatestherepositioningofthe
rubberband.ReplacetheC‐cliptosecurethe
turntable.
