User Manual
General information
This manual explains how to use and maintain your HyLab formulator.
It also sets out safety instructions and technical specifications.
The information contained in this manual is the property of Romy. It may not be reproduced
without the express agreement of the brand.
Read this manual carefully in order to use the device in good conditions and in
complete safety.
SYMBOLS
The symbol opposite is used to alert you to potential risks or draw your attention to
important safety information.
Risk of electric shock – Warns of a risk of electric shock if the instructions are not
followed.

HyLab complies with the following norms :

IEC 60335-1 :2010+A1+A2
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Electrical risk:
Make sure that the supply voltage indicated on the rating plate of the appliance
matches your electrical installation.
The formulator must be powered only at a very low safety voltage corresponding to
the marking of the device.
Not connecting the device correctly could be dangerous.
Plug the connector to the unit before connecting the power supply to the mains.
Plug your HyLab formulator into a power outlet.
To unplug, grasp the power supply and not the cable.
Do not immerse the mains cable and / or power supply in water or other liquids.
Check the condition of the power cable regularly. If it appears damaged, stop using
the device immediately. Contact the dealer or their after-sales team to replace the
cable.
Do not expose the device to water or excessive moisture.
Do not use the device with wet hands.
Prevent any water from splashing onto the device.
Do not allow the water reservoir to overflow.
Should water get into any part of the device other than the water reservoir, or in the
event of an emergency, unplug the power cable immediately and contact the dealer.
Do not attempt to switch the device back on: there is a risk of electrocution.
Unplug the device if you are not going to be using it for a while.
Under no circumstances should the device be used near a shower, bath or other
source of water.
Warnings:
The HyLab formulator is intended for domestic use only.
The device must be stored somewhere dry.
The device is only suitable for use indoors, at an altitude of below 3,400m.
The packaging elements (plastic bags, cardboard box, etc.) must not be left within
reach of children.
Only use accessories and consumable products supplied by Romy or those
available from the dealer.
Never insert any object into the device other than Romy active ingredients capsules
and flasks (regardless of whether it is on or off).
It is prohibited to open the housing of the device or to try and repair it. Apart from
being dangerous, unauthorised opening of the device housing will de facto make the
warranty void. Repairs may only be carried out by the Romy After-Sales service or
by an approved person.
This device may be used by children older than 8 years old and by individuals with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capacity or lacking in experience or knowledge,
as long as they are properly supervised or have been given instructions for using the
device safely and the risks have been taken into account. Children must not play with
the device. User cleaning and maintenance must not be done by children without
supervision.
Precautions for use:
To use the device safely, place it on a flat, horizontal, stable surface.
Do not place the unit upside down.
The device must be protected from being struck by falling objects or falling itself.
Do not store or use the device near a heat source.
If the appliance is not in use, close all the compartments to prevent the insertion of
an object (or dust, water, etc.) into the appliance.
If the device is not going to be used for a prolonged period, empty, clean and
unplug it.
When transporting the device, the tank must be emptied. Re-use the original
packaging to protect the device.
Failure to use the device consistently with the directions for use will release the
manufacturer from all liability.
WARRANTY
The new device is guaranteed against all manufacturing faults or defects for two (2) years
from the date of delivery. If necessary, contact your dealer or the Romy after sales team. This
warranty does not apply to accessories or consumable products, nor does it apply to any
part for which wear during the warranty period is normal.
The warranty covers exchange or repair of the device.
The proof of purchase must be enclosed with any warranty claim.
Performance under the warranty covers the repair of all defects in the device that occur
during the warranty period and which are clearly due to defects in the materials or the
manufacture of the device.
Defects or damage caused by improper use or failure to follow the directions for use are not
covered by the warranty.
The warranty will be withdrawn if:
the device has not been plugged in in accordance with the instructions
insertion into the device of elements other than Romy active ingredient capsules
and flasks
the directions for use have not been followed
The warranty becomes void if the device has been opened by persons not approved or
authorised by Romy.
Under no circumstances may the warranty above be invoked for damage done to persons or
property as a result of the operation of the device.
RECYCLING
This product is subject to separate collection of electrical and electronic equipment
in accordance with Directive 2002/96/EC.
The symbol on the device showing a dustbin that has been struck through means
that at the end of its life, it must be processed separately from household waste.
Therefore, it must be taken to a specific centre for waste electrical and electronic
appliances or brought back to the dealer when buying a new device.

THE SKINCARE PRODUCTS
Only use Romy products in your Romy formulator.
You can order these items through the on-line store
Some active ingredients are naturally tinted. This can have an impact on the final
appearance of your skincare.
Texture flask
The textures are used as a base for skincares formulated by HyLab.
Wash solution flask
This flask contains a cleaner to automatically ensure the cleanliness of your HyLab.
Active ingredients capsules
Our range of active ingredients is constantly evolving. Each colour in the range
represents a different ingredient.

THE APP
The Romy app is compatible with iPhone/iPad running iOS 11 or higher and with Android
version 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher, available respectively through the App Store and the Google
Play Store.
Set-up
UNPACKING
When unpacking the product, the following items must be present:
A box containing:
1 HyLab formulator
1 spatula
1 power box
A starter pack including:
1 texture flask
1 wash solution flask
2 sets of active ingredients capsules
Remove all products from the package.
Keep the packaging elements for possible return of the unit or for transport.
Place the unit on a flat, level, stable surface.
SETUP & ASSOCIATION
Step 1
Bluetooth needs to be activated on your smartphone. [1]
Open the app (download the app).
Step 2
Plug the formulator to the mains. [2] [3]
Step 3
Go to the app and follow the association steps to connect your formulator.
Step 3.1
Continue the installation:
1. Put in place the spatula.
2. Fill the water tank (fill the tank).
3. Insert your flasks (load flasks).
Step 3.2
The formulator performs an automatic cleaning of the device.
This step lasts about 5 minutes [4] and allows a reset of the formulator.
1. Bluetooth® must be enabled when using the formulator with the Romy app.
2. First, connect the connector to the formulator before connecting the power supply to
an electrical outlet.
3. Be sure to connect your formulator respecting the safety rules mentioned above.
4. During the cleaning of the formulator you can access the various menus of the
application.
Formulation of a skincare
WITH THE APP
The step setup & association as well as the first cleaning have been done, it's time to
formulate your first skincares.
Step 1
Only if the machine reports an error:
Fill the water tank (fill the tank).
Insert a flask of wash solution and the desired texture flask (load flasks).
Step 4
Prepare the active ingredient capsules prescribed by the app (from 1 to 3 active
ingredients).
Step 5
Open the capsules tray.
Tuck the active ingredients capsules in the tray holes (flat side up)
Close the capsules tray.
Step 6
Head back to the app to start your skincare.
Step 7
Your skincare is being formulated.[1]
Step 8
After a few seconds, your tailor-made care will be dispensed on the spatula. [2]
Apply the skincare to your face.
Step 9
After the distribution of the skincare, the formulator enters an automatic rinsing
phase. [1]
Meanwhile clean the spatula before putting back into the formulator.
2-5 min
1. Do not unplug the formulator while in operation.
2. The delivered skincare can be tinted by the color of the natural ingredients.
WITHOUT THE APP
The step setup & association as well as the first cleaning have been done, it's time to
formulate your first skincares.
Step 1
Only if the machine reports an error:
Fill the water tank (fill the tank).
Insert a flask of wash solution and the desired texture flask (load flasks).
Step 2
Check the presence and cleanliness of the spatula (cleaning the spatula).
Step 3
Prepare the active ingredients of your choice (1 to 3 ingredients).
Step 4
Open the capsules tray.
Tuck the active ingredients capsules in the tray holes (flat side up)
Step 5
Close the capsules tray in order to start the formulation of your skincare.

Your skincare is being formulated. [1]
