FASHION WITH DUE CARE AND ATTENTION
PLACED ON THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS FOR
YOUR RONSON 1.5L VARIABLE
TEMP DIGITAL KETTLE.
Carefully read all instructions before
operating the Ronson Kettle for the first
time and save for future reference.
To eliminate a choking hazard for young children,
remove and safely discard the protective cover
fitted to the power plug of this kettle.
This kettle has been designed specifically for the
purpose of boiling drinking quality water only.
Under no circumstances should this product be
used to boil any other liquids or foodstuffs.
Do not place the kettle near the edge of a bench or
table during operation. Ensure that the surface is
level, clean and free of water and other substances.
Do not operate the kettle on a sink
drain board.
Do not place the kettle on or near a hot gas
burner, electric element or where it could touch a
heated oven.
Always ensure the kettle is properly assembled
before use. Follow the instructions provided in
this book.
The kettle must be used only with the power
base supplied.

on the water window on the appliance. Too little
water will result in the kettle switching ‘OFF’. Filling
above the maximum mark (MAX) may result in
boiling water splashing from the kettle.
Do not move while the kettle is switched on.
To prevent damage to the appliance do not use
alkaline cleaning agents when cleaning, use a soft
cloth and mild detergent.

2
Do not use chemicals, steel wool, or abrasive
cleaners to clean the outside of the kettle.

this may result in boiling water splashing
from the kettle. Pour all the hot water from
the kettle before opening the lid to refill.
The filter could become damaged with
time, please check regularly and replace if
found damaged.
Ensure the kettle has cooled down before
attempting to clean the filter and appliance.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
OPERATING YOUR RONSON 1.5L
VARIABLE TEMP DIGITAL KETTLE
VARIABLE TEMPERATURE CONTROL
The variable electronic control panel offers
five different Celsius temperatures for
optimal tea and coffee brewing; 80°, 85°,
90°, 95° and 100°C.
OPTIMAL BREWING
Tea varieties are grown and produced in
different environments and require specific
water temperatures to allow their unique
flavour and aroma to develop during brewing.
To bring out the optimal quality and taste of
more delicate tea leaves, a lower temperature
will produce a better flavoured cup of tea.
For example, steeping green, white or oolong
teas in boiling water may scald the tea leaves
and result in a bitter, astringent brew.
Brewing the tea for too long may also result
in a bitter, unpleasant taste, while brewing for
too short a period may leave the tea bland.
For best results always follow the specific
directions on the tea/coffee packet.
To bring out the optimal taste and quality of
your favourite tea or coffee, we recommend
that you use your Variable Temperature
Kettle at the suggested temperature for your
selected tea or coffee.
The table below provides a guide to a
range of tea and coffee varieties and the
recommended temperature to select using
your set temp button.
NOTE:
This product is not calibrated for
commercial or scientific use. Temperatures
may vary +/-5 degrees, being within range for
optimal brewing for each type of tea or coffee.
KEEP WARM FUNCTION
To activate the KEEP WARM function, first
press the desired water temperature by
pressing the set temp button and select one
of the five options on the LED panel. Then
press the KEEP WARM button, followed by
the START/CANCEL button to commence
heating the water. Alternatively, the KEEP
WARM button can be activated within one
minute after the heating cycle has completed.
When the water has reached the selected
Celsius temperature, the KEEP WARM
function will hold the selected temperature
for 20 minutes. If the boil temperature
is selected when using the KEEP WARM
function, the boiled water will remain at
approximately 95°C for 20 minutes.
NOTE:
If the kettle is removed from the
power base during the KEEP WARM function
the kettle will automatically reset.

BEFORE FIRST USE
Remove any packaging material and promotional
labels before using your kettle for the first time.
It is recommended that before the first use to fill
the kettle to the maximum level with cold tap water,
bring to the boil by selecting the SET TEMP button
to Boil and press the START/CANCEL button, then
once water has boiled, discard the water. The kettle
will only operate when positioned on the power
base. The kettle will automatically switch off when
the water has reached the selected temperature.
OPERATION OF YOUR KETTLE
1. To fill the kettle with water, remove it from the
power base and open the lid by lifting the lid
upwards . Fill with the desired amount of water.
Do not operate the kettle without water. Always
fill the kettle between the minimum and the
maximum marks on the water window. Too
little water will result in the kettle switching off.
NOTE: Never operate the kettle dry - too little water
will result in the kettle switching ‘OFF’.
NOTE: Do not overfill the kettle - filling above the
maximum mark on the water window may result in
boiling water splashing from the kettle.
2. Ensure that the lid is closed and locked firmly
into place before placing the kettle on the
power base.
3. Place the kettle firmly onto the power base.
Plug the power cord into a 230V or 240V
power outlet and switch on.
NOTE: The LED display will display if under
40°C. If the water temperature is above 40°C
the display will show actual water temperature in
kettle. Once the START/CANCEL button is pressed
the LED display will show if under 40°C. If the
water temperature is above 40°C the display will
show actual water temperature in kettle.
4. Press START/CANCEL button to start boiling
or select desired water temperature by
pressing the illuminated SET TEMP button.
Toggle between 5 pre set temperatures; 80°,
85°, 90°, 95° and Boil. Press the START/
CANCEL button for water to boil up to selected
temperature. The Kettle water window will
illuminate in blue.
5. When the kettle has heated the water to the
selected temperature, 1 beep will sound
and the START/CANCEL button surround
illumination will switch off. If the KEEP
WARM function has been selected, the
KEEP WARM button surround will remain
illuminated in red and the kettle will remain at
pre-set temperature for 20 minutes. If KEEP
WARM function has not been selected, water
temperature will remain at preset temperature
for 1 minute then reset.
6. If further heating of the kettle is not required,
switch off at the power outlet, unplug the
power cord and empty the water from the
kettle. Replace the kettle onto the power base
and close the lid.
7. The kettle should be stored on its power base
when not in use. The power outlet should be
switched off and the power cord unplugged
from the power outlet when not in use.
NOTE: When the preset ‘boil’ temperature is
set, the water temperature reaches 100°C but
will drop to 95°C if the KEEP WARM function has
been selected.
NOTE: Sleep Mode: If no other function has been
selected within 30 minutes, then all displays and
button lights will automatically go into sleep mode.
NOTE: This kettle must only be used with the
power base supplied. Use caution when pouring
water from your kettle, as boiling water will scald.
Do not pour the water too quickly.

6
NOTE: Do not remove the kettle from the power
base during operation. Ensure the kettle has
switched to the ‘OFF’ position after the water
has boiled before removing the kettle from the
power base.
CAUTION: THIS APPLIANCE IS
DESIGNED FOR THE BOILING OF DRINKING
QUALITY WATER ONLY; NEVER USE IT TO
HEAT OR BOIL ANY OTHER LIQUIDS OR
FOODSTUFFS. THE LID SHOULD ALWAYS
BE FIRMLY IN PLACE AND LOCKED CLOSED
BEFORE USE.
CAUTION: DO NOT OPEN THE LID WHILE
THE WATER IS BOILING. ENSURE THE LID IS
CLOSED WHILST BOILING.
SAFETY BOIL DRY PROTECTION
The kettle is fitted with a safety device which
protects against overheating should the appliance
be operated with insufficient water. If this occurs
the kettle will stop heating and automatically
switch off.
Should this occur, switch off at the power outlet
and unplug. Allow kettle to cool before refilling.
When the kettle has cooled down, the safety device
can be reset by removing and then replacing the
kettle on its base.

7
MINERAL DEPOSITS AND
DISCOLOURATION
Due to the large surface area of the
concealed element interior base,
discolouration due to mineral deposits
from tap water may appear more obvious
by leaving a brown stain on the base.
THIS IS NOT RUST.
To remove the discolouration, follow the
instructions “Removing mineral deposits”.
REMOVING MINERAL DEPOSITS
Mineral deposits in tap water may cause
the kettle interior and water window to
discolour over time. This may be removed
by using a proprietary kettle descaler
which is available from most leading
supermarkets, department stores and
hardware stores.
ALTERNATIVELY
1. Fill the kettle until 2⁄3 full with 1 part
vinegar (or a few slices of lemon) and 2
parts water, bring to the boil and allow to
stand overnight.
2. Empty the solution from the kettle.
Fill the kettle with clean water,
bring to boil and discard the water.
Repeat and the kettle will be ready
for use.
STORAGE
Switch the kettle off at the power outlet and
unplug from the outlet, clean and dry the
kettle as per the CARE AND CLEANING
section. Ensure that the lid is closed and
locked firmly into place. Wrap the power cord
around the cord storage under the power
base. Stand the kettle upright on the power
base. Do not store anything on top.
CARE AND CLEANING
Always switch off at the power outlet, and then
unplug the appliance from the power outlet
before cleaning.
CLEANING THE FILTER
The kettle features a removable mesh filter to
remove scale deposits for cleaner water. To
clean the scale deposits from the filter, open
the lid and remove the filter by pressing the
filter towards the centre of the kettle to unclip.
The filter can be cleaned by placing under
warm running water and rubbing with a
cleaning cloth or brush.
To replace filter, simply clip the filter back
in position in the slot behind the spout of
the kettle.
CLEANING THE KETTLE EXTERIOR
The outside stainless steel surface of the
kettle may be wiped over with a damp cloth
and polished with a soft, clean dry cloth.
Note: Do not use chemical, steel wool,
or abrasive cleaners to clean the inside or
outside of the kettle.
CAUTION: TO PREVENT DAMAGE
TO THE APPLIANCE DO NOT USE
ALKALINE CLEANING AGENTS
WHEN CLEANING; USE A SOFT
CLOTH AND MILD DETERGENTS.
WARNING: NEVER IMMERSE
THE KETTLE BASE, SWITCH AREA,
POWER BASE OR POWER SUPPLY
CORD IN WATER, OR ALLOW
MOISTURE TO COME IN CONTACT
WITH THESE PARTS.
CAUTION: ENSURE THE KETTLE
AND WATER HAVE COOLED DOWN
BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO CLEAN
THE FILTER.
