User’s Guide
Use this guide to operate the RosenView VX’s cabin entertainment
system features with a Universal Remote control. You can control
the RosenView VX DVD player from the front panel controls;
however, you can control the moving map only with a remote
control.
Features
• Displays customized moving map and flight status screens.
• Plays video and audio DVDs from all regions, audio CDs, MP3
discs, and VCD data.
• Switches sources on two displays: moving map, DVD, and
auxiliary output.
Using the RosenView VX with a Universal Remote Control
With the optional remote control, change the map and source
select of the output by touching the remote control’s screen. The
RosenView VX uses two touch screens: VX Map and VX DVD.
1. Press the key and then touch the VX Map or VX DVD button
on the Home menu, depending on the source you want to view.
2. Point the remote at the RosenView VX or an IR sensor installed
in the cabin and touch the buttons on the control’s screen. The
display will search for active video signals and open the last active
source selected.
3. Press the Source Select buttons 1or 2one or more times
to switch what you are watching.
4. To switch between the moving map and DVD control screens,
touch the control tabs at the bottom of the screen.
Moving map data is always available; however, the display cycles
between a customizable splash screen and a map while the aircraft
is on the ground.

VX Map Screen – Remote
Button How it Works
Mode Opens a menu to select map viewing options.
Pans the map view north, south, west, or east.
Ok Centers the map view on the aircraft’s location.
Zooms in on a map view. (Zoom times out after a
pre-set time.)
Zooms out on a map view. (Zoom times out after a
pre-set time.)
Source Select 1 switches the output on display
1—map, DVD, or auxiliary device.
Source Select 2 switches the output on display
2— map, DVD, or auxiliary device.
VX DVD Screen – Remote
Button How it Works
Eject Press once to eject or insert a disc. Allow the
player time to eject the disc before pressing the
Eject button again.
Menu Accesses the DVD menu or the DVD player’s
setup menu if no disc is inserted.
Navigates through a DVD’s menu options.
Play Plays the DVD.
Pause II Pauses the DVD.
Stop Stops the DVD.
Previous IReverses to the previous chapter.
Fast Rewind Moves left in a menu. Hold in while a disc is
playing to “rewind.” Continue to hold for different
rewind speeds.
Fast Forward Moves right in a menu, or hold in while a disc is
playing to “fast forward.” Continue to hold for
different fast forward speeds.
Next I Advances to the next chapter forward.
Enter Plays the menu option you select on the DVD.
Source Select 1 switches the output on display

RosenView VX Moving Map Options
In flight, the RosenView VX displays a moving map that
automatically cycles between aircraft location and flight information
data. Press Mode on the remote to select a specific map view or
status page to view. Allow the Mode menu to time out and close.
Press +to zoom down to street-level detail in the U.S. or Western
Europe, depending on the version, or –for higher-level maps. Press
the keys to shift the viewing area of the map.
Mode Menu Options
The moving map Mode Menu contains options that enable you to
change the display details for your flight.
1. Press Mode on the remote touch screen to open the Mode
Menu.
2. To select a different map display, press Mode again until the option
you want to view is highlighted, and allow a few seconds for the
menu to close and the RosenView VX to change the display.
3. The RosenView VX displays only the selected map mode. The
other map views will not display until you press Mode and select
another option or Auto Mode again.

You can also control the RosenView VX DVD from the front panel
controls; however, you cannot control the moving map.
VX DVD Buttons
Button How it Works
Eject Press to eject or insert a disc.
Menu Accesses the DVD menu or the DVD player’s

Navigates through DVD menu options.
Enter Selects a DVD menu option to view.
Play/Pause II Pauses and plays the DVD.
Stop Stops the DVD.

Mode Menu Options
The RosenView VX moving map can be set to show one of these
modes:
Map Low – Displays low-altitude map detail (street-level)
Map Medium – Medium-altitude map detail
Map High – High-altitude map detail (country-region level)
Location Status – Current aircraft location only
Conditions Status – Current flight information
Destination Status – Destination information only
Auto Mode – Automatically cycles through all viewing options.
Select to restart the cycle after viewing another mode.

VX System Status Indicators
LED Indicator How it Works
Nav Data Indicates the type of signal received.
• Green – valid avionic data transmission;
blinks when receiving ARINC data.
• Blue – valid GPS data transmission;
blinks when receiving GPS data.
• Red – no data signal present.
Disc Status Indicates the status of the DVD player.
• Green –a disc is in the DVD player.
• Blinking green –inserting or ejecting a disc
in the DVD player.
• Red – DVD read error.
• LED off – no disc in the DVD player.
System Status Indicates when unit is active.
• Green – system is operating normally.
• Red – system error
Warning: The use of discs with paper labels is not recommended,
as they may jam and potentially be irretrievable from the DVD
player.

Source Select 1 switches the output on display

Source Select 2 switches the output on display
2— map, DVD, or auxiliary device.
Reset Resets the map processor and the DVD player,
but it does not change the source select button
settings.
