Installation Instructions
Note: Parts are designed to fit on trucks with the OE Flares from Ford.
Additional mounting holes may be required to be drilled on non-OE
flare equipped trucks.
Before installing your ROUSH Performance Product(s), read through the entire installation

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE
Appropriate disassembly, assembly methods and procedures are essential to ensure the
personal safety of the individual performing the kit installation. Improper installation due to the
failure to correctly follow these instructions could cause personal injury or death. Read each
step of the installation manual carefully before starting the actual installation.
1. Always wear safety glasses for eye protection.
2. Place ignition switch in the OFF position.
3. Always apply the parking brake when working on a vehicle.
4. Chock the front and rear tires to prevent unexpected vehicle movement.
5. If working without a lift, always consult vehicle manual for correct lifting
specifications.
6. Operate the engine only in well-ventilated areas to avoid exposure to carbon
monoxide.
7. Do not smoke or use flammable items near or around the fuel system.
8. Use chemicals and cleaners in well-ventilated areas.
9. Batteries produce explosive gases, which can cause personal injury. Therefore, do
not allow flames, sparks or flammable substances to come near the battery.
10. Keeps hands and any other objects away from the radiator fan blades.
11. Keep yourself and your clothing away from moving parts when the engine is running.
12. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry that can get caught in rotating parts or scratch
surface finishes.
13. Allow the engine, cooling system, brakes and exhaust to cool before working on a
vehicle.

Perform this installation on a good clean level surface for maximum safety and with the
engine turned off.

The following manual will guide you through the installation of the 2019-2020 ROUSH
Ranger Fender Flares (P/N: 422231)
Ranger Disassembly
1. Locate your vehicle in a safe area and block the wheels.
2. Begin by removing the three (3) push pins from the original front fender flare.
3. Remove the one (1) lower bolt at the rear of the flare, using a T25 torx bit and
store for later use.

4. Remove the marker light by pushing on the tab in the front lower corner, using a
trim tool or pick tool as shown. Disconnect the electrical connector. Store light for
later use.
5. Repeat procedure on opposite side of vehicle.
6. Move to the rear of the vehicle and open the tailgate.
7. With the tailgate down, remove the two (2) bolts retaining the LH side taillight
using an 8 mm socket and remove the taillight from the vehicle. Store screws and
taillight in a safe location for re-use.

8. Disconnect the electrical connector and cut the zip tie retaining the harness.
9. Strip the wire casing back off the wire about 12 inches.

10.Cut the two wires connected to pin #3 (power) and to pin #10 (ground) about 5
inches from the rear face of the connector.

11. Locate the harness supplied (1419-15N515) and taped to the harness should be
a bag with pins and two electrical connectors. Attach the supplied pins with crimp
and solder to each end of the wires cut in step 10 (four places).
12. Install the newly connected pins from each half of the harness into the two (2)
supplied electrical connector shells taped to the wire harness.

13.Connect the two mating connectors on the new harness provided (1419-15N515) to
the new connectors attached to the tail lamp harness. Notice the Red wire lines up
with the black with white trace wire from the vehicle harness. Black wire lines up with
solid black wire. Route the remainder of the harness through the taillight opening
and run the two wire extensions to each rear corner of the wheel wells.
14. Zip tie and tape the harness together. Re-attach the electrical connector to the
taillight and re-install the taillight using the two (2) screws previously removed.
Torque to 5 Nm.

15. At the rear lower corner of the rear inner wheel well, mark the location and drill a
¾” hole through the wheel liner using a hole saw or step bit. Route the wire
harness through the hole as shown, on both sides of the vehicle. Install the
grommet provided over the harness and locate in the hole drilled into the
inner wheel liner to prevent the harness from rubbing. Retain the harness
with the provided zip ties.
16. Remove the three (3) push pins from the rear factory flares and discard.

17. Remove the two (2) screws located at the front and the rear bottom corners of
the rear flares using a T30 torx bit. Store for reuse.
ROUSH Ranger Fender Flare Installation
1. Remove the new ROUSH flares from the box and inspect them for proper edge
seal fitment over the lip of the flare.Make adjustments as need to re-seat the
edge seal as it may have been moved during shipping & handling.

2. Locate the hardware kit and remove the following items from the hardware kit for
one side of the front flare installation (mylar tape, 3x push pins, 1x short screw,
1x spring clip) and the previously removed front flare bolt.
3. Place the new ROUSH front flare in the wheel well and mark the forward most
fender flare hole location (towards the front of the flare/vehicle) using a marker.

4. Take off the flare and install the mylar tape at the marked location.
5. Install the spring clip over the tape as shown.

6. Hold the Flare up to the wheel well and route the factory lamp wire harness
through the opening of the flare. Install the three (3) new push pins provided, to
hold the flare into position. Re-install the factory screw into the rear lower
mounting location. Install the small screw into the front lower mounting location
(onto the spring clip). Connect the front factory light to the harness and install the
light into the pocket of the fender flare.
7. Picture after front fender installation complete. Repeat on other side of vehicle.

8. Install one red accent light into each rear flare. Remove the light from the
grommet, push the grommet through the hole in the flare and then push the light
through the grommet until it is seated and retained in the hole.
9. Holding the rear flare up into position on the vehicle, connect the previously
routed wire harness connectors to the connectors from the accent light (red wire
to yellow and white wire to white) of the Roush flare.
10. Position the flare in location on the bedside and install the three (3) push pins
provided in the kit. Re-install the two (2) factory screws.Zip tie any loose cables
to retain the out of the way.

11.Use the small white edge tool provided to adjust the edge seal around the fender
flare to body to make sure any gaps and curled areas are seated firmly.
12.Congratulaions the ROUSH fender flare installation is complete.
