2PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
2.1 INTENDED USE
The ROWHEELS Revolution 1.0 Wheelchair is intended to provide mobility to persons limited to a sitting
position. This chair is intended for use on an ongoing daily basis in indoor and outdoor settings on firm
surfaces free of climbing obstacles. All other uses are prohibited.
2.2 PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Revolution 1.0 wheelchair comes with a variety of features: wheel locks, detachable and height
adjustable leg rests, detachable armrests, rear main wheels, front turning casters, and cross braces. The
frame is made from aluminum tubing with powder coat paint to protect against corrosion
The Revolution 1.0 provides comfortable transportation and storage thanks to its solid cross frame
structure, maneuverability, and easy transfer in and out of the wheelchair.
The Revolution 1.0 is shipped in a corrugated cardboard box with all components fully assembled and
ready for immediate use, except for the footrests which are easily installed without the need for tools.
For some adjustments you will need to use the included hand tools.
Every Revolution 1.0 wheelchair includes:

3SAFETY WARNINGS &RECOMMENDATIONS
3.1 SIGNAL WORDS
Signal words that apply to hazards or unsafe actions appear through this manual. Personal injury or
property damage can result if not followed closely. Below are the definitions of these important signal
words.
3.2 GENERAL WARNINGS
DANGER! Risk of Death, Serious Injury or Damage
Use of incorrect replacement parts may cause death, serious injury or damage. ALL replacement parts
MUST come from ROWHEELS or one of its dealers and MUST match original ROWHEELS parts.
DANGER! Risk of Death, Serious Injury or Damage
Lighted cigarettes dropped by occupants can cause a fire resulting in death, serious injury, or damage.
DO NOT smoke while using this wheelchair.

Use the wheelchair ONLY for the purpose it is intended for.
This manual MUST be read by all persons using or assisting in the use of this wheelchair. Contact
ROWHEELS if you do not understand the warnings and instructions in this manual. Failure to do so may
result in personal injury.
The wheelchair MUST not be loaded with more than 300 lb (136 kg). This weight includes the user and
items carried on the chair or in accessory bags.
Be aware that the feel and operation of this chair might be different from what you are accustomed to.
Start slowly and use low amounts of force as you are learning to use this chair. If you use too much force
or you move too quickly you could damage your chair, fall, and tip over or lose control of the chair, which
could cause severe injury.
When using the wheelchair in a stationary position, the wheel locks MUST be placed in the locked
position. Failure to lock the wheels can lead to serious injury and damage.
The wheel locks MUST NEVER be used to slow or stop a wheelchair. This can damage the wheel locks and
result in serious injury or damage.
DO NOT use non-ROWHEELS accessories. ROWHEELS products are specifically designed to be used with
ROWHEELS accessories. After market, or any non-ROWHEELS accessories have not been tested with
ROWHEELS wheelchairs.
Use the product ONLY if it is in good condition and do not modify the wheelchair unless directed to do so
in writing by ROWHEELS. Failure to do this can lead to serious injury and damage.
ONLY qualified technicians or ROWHEELS are permitted to service the wheelchair.
The wheelchair is NOT designed as a seating option for a user in moving vehicles (e.g. buses, trains,
subways, airplanes etc.). It is FORBIDDEN to sit on the wheelchair in a moving vehicle. The wheelchair
should be safely stowed and secured for the duration of transportation. The wheelchair user should be
safely transferred and seated in a seating system included in the vehicle. There is a great risk of serious
injury and property damage IF the above rule is not followed.
NEVER use the wheelchair without anti-tippers installed and properly adjusted. Failure to do this can
cause backward tipping and lead to serious injury and damage. See the anti-tippers section near the end
of this manual for more information.
All wheels should be in contact with the floor at ALL TIMES during use. This will ensure the wheelchair is
properly balanced and should avoid incidents.

WARNING! Risk of Serious Injury or Damage
If defects or flaws are detected, you MUST immediately contact ROWHEELS or your dealer. These can
lead to serious injury and damager.
Follow the instructions and warnings on all product labels.
The attendant of a wheelchair user should be in good physical condition.
DO NOT use tools to remove any parts of the wheelchair. It may influence the product's stability and
rigidity. Use the included tools only for tightening loose fasteners and for adjusting the footrest height.
DO NOT place the wheelchair near sources of heat or fire (fireplaces, ovens, heaters, stoves). It is not
recommended to smoke cigarettes when seated on the wheelchair. Avoid skin burns during use of the
wheelchair in direct sunlight. Various parts of the product might become hot.
When performing a weight shift, users MUST NOT use the hand rim as support. Supporting your weight
on the hand rim could damage the wheels and should be avoided at all costs. Users should use the wheel
tires, the chair seat, or armrests for support during weight shift.
CAUTION! Risk of Minor to Moderate Injury
The wheelchair includes many moving elements which create slots, holes and gaps between its parts.
There is a risk of body part trapping during folding, unfolding and adjusting different elements of the
wheelchair. This especially concerns fingers and hands. It is also possible to have a finger cut by moving
parts of the device. Always be careful when you adjust or set up the wheelchair to not get your body
parts squeezed and injured.
3.3 SAFETY CHECK LIST
Initial Safety Inspection
Check that wheel locks prevent the wheelchair from moving when engaged.
Check that wheel locks DO NOT interfere with the tire when dis-engaged and rolling.

Verify the motion of the wheel locks are smooth, with no binding.
Inspect the wheel lock components are not loose, and free from wear.
Inspect entire wheelchair for loose fasteners and screws. Check the frame, cross brace, wheel mounts,
upholstery mounts and push handles.
Verify that the frame and/or cross brace is not bent or otherwise damaged.
Verify the fold down push handles lock securely in the up/engaged position.
While coasting, ensure that the wheelchair rolls straight with no excessive drag to one side or the other.
Verify there is no excessive side to side movement or binding of the rear wheels. It may be required to
lift the un-occupied wheelchair and spin the wheels.
Inspect the wheel for cracks, particularly near its center.
Verify that the caster bracket spins freely on its pivot.
Verify that the caster wheel spins freely on its axle.
Inspect the wheel for cracks in the hub and tire, tire wear.
Check that all product labels are present and legible.
Weekly Safety Check
Check that wheel locks prevent the wheelchair from moving when engaged.
Inspect tires for flat spots, cracking and wear.
Inspect for any binding in the rear wheels and casters.
Monthly Safety Check
All items in the Weekly Safety check in addition to the following:
Inspect entire wheelchair for loose fasteners and screws. Check the frame, cross brace, wheel mounts,
upholstery mounts and push handles.
While coasting, ensure that the wheelchair rolls straight with no excessive drag to one side or the other.
Check that wheel locks DO NOT interfere with the tire when disengaged and rolling.
Inspect the upholstery for tears or worn spots as well as ensuring its mounting hardware is secure.
Clean upholstery, arm rests according to the cleaning section of this manual.
Verify that the fold-down push handles can lock securely in the up/engaged position.
Verify the push handle hand grips are clean and not worn. Verify they are secure to the push handle.

Inspect the hand rims for rough edges or damage.
Periodic Safety Check (frequency may depend on use)
Verify that the frame and/or cross brace is not bent or otherwise damaged
Verify there is no excessive side to side movement or binding of the rear wheels. It may be required to
lift the un-occupied wheelchair and spin the wheels.
Inspect the wheel for cracks, particularly near its center
Verify that the caster bracket spins freely on its pivot.
Verify that the caster wheel spins freely on its axle
Inspect the wheel for cracks in the hub and tire, tire wear.
Check the handrim deceleration pads for wear.
4USAGE
4.1 GENERAL INFORMATION
The total weight capacity or your Revolution 1.0 Wheelchair is 300 lb (136 kg). This includes the weight
of the user, accessories and storage items.
WARNING! Risk of Serious Injury or Damage
NEVER overload the wheelchair past its weight capacity.
It is recommended for inexperienced users to practice all the following maneuvers in the wheelchair
with a qualified healthcare professional present.
WARNING! Risk of Serious Injury or Damage
DO NOT stand on the frame of the wheelchair.
DO NOT stand on the foot rests as this will cause the wheelchair to tip.
DO NOT allow children to play on or around the wheelchair.
NEVER allow a second person to ride on the wheelchair.
