The product must be earthed. It
has a 13A BS1362 fuse in a 13A
BS1363 plug. To replace the plug,
fit the green/yellow wire to Eor E,
the blue wire to N, and the brown
wire to L. Fit the cord grip.
If in doubt, call an electrician.
Don’t use a non-rewireable plug unless the
fuse cover is in place. If you remove the plug,
dispose of it.

instructions
Read the instructions, keep them safe, pass
them on if you pass the kettle on. Remove all
packaging before use.
AIMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Follow basic safety precautions, including:
1 The kettle must only be used by or under
the supervision of a responsible adult. Use
and store the kettle out of reach of children.
2 Don’t put the kettle, stand, cable, or
plug in liquid; don’t use the kettle in
a bathroom, near water, or outdoors.
3 Unplug the stand when not in use.
4 Keep the kettle, stand, and cable away from
the edges of worktops.
5 Take care when removing the lid – steam
will escape from the opening.
6 Switch off before opening the lid.
7 Put the stand on a stable, level surface.
8 Wind excess cable beneath the stand.
9 Don’t use the kettle without fitting the filter.
10 Use the kettle only with the stand supplied.
11 Don’t use the kettle for any purpose other
than heating water.
12 Don’t use it with a timer or remote control.
13 Don’t use the kettle if it’s damaged or
malfunctions.
14 If the cable is damaged, return the kettle, to
avoid hazard.
household use only
UBEFORE FIRST USE
•Fill to max, boil, discard the water, and rinse.
CFILLING
caution steam escapes when you lift the lid
1 To minimise exposure to steam, grip the rear
of the handle with one hand.
2 Grip the lid knob with the other hand.
3 Pull the lid up and away from the kettle.
4 Fill with at least 2 cups of water, but don’t fill
above max.
5 If overfilled, the kettle may spit boiling water.
6 Replace the lid, press down, to lock it closed.
CSWITCHING ON
7 Plug the stand into the wall socket.
6 Put the kettle on the stand.
8 Move the switch to 1– the light will glow,
and the kettle will heat up.
CSWITCHING OFF
9 When it boils, the kettle will switch off.
10 To switch off manually, move the switch to
0, or simply lift the kettle off the stand.
CGENERAL
11 Pour slowly and don’t over-tilt the kettle.
12 Don’t tilt the kettle backwards, water might
get on to the control area.
13 If this happens, sit the kettle somewhere
warm for 12 hours to dry before using it.
14 Don’t worry about moisture on the stand.
The steam used to switch the kettle off is
condensed and vented under the kettle.
15 Don’t worry about discolouration on the
floor of the kettle. It’s due to the bonding of
the element to the kettle floor.
FUSE WITH INSUFFICIENT WATER
16 This will shorten the life of the element. A
boil-dry cut-out will switch the kettle off.
17 To avoid cycling on and off, take it off the
stand, and leave it to go completely cold.
CCARE AND MAINTENANCE
18 Unplug the stand, and let the kettle cool.
19 Wipe inside and outside with a damp cloth.
20 Keep all connectors and sockets dry.
CDESCALE REGULARLY
21 Descale regularly, (at least monthly). Use a
descaler suitable for use in plastic products
(most products have plastic parts). Follow
the instructions on the package of descaler.
, Products returned under guarantee with
faults due to scale will incur a repair charge.
CCLEANING THE FILTER
22 Switch the kettle off, and let it cool.
23 Remove the lid.
24 Pull the filter out of its guies.
25 Brush the filter, under a running tap.
26 Rinse the kettle, to remove scale particles.
