DURING USE - OPERATING THE TRANSFORMER
Position and set up the transformer according to the previous instructions
Check that the transformer is safe for use and has no defects, paying particular attention to the
external cables and the electrical enclosures.
The transformer can then be connected to the correct supply. The supply voltage should be within the
voltage range shown on the product type label.
The supply voltage should not vary by more than +/-10% of the voltage on the product type label.
Ensure that the load of the equipment connected to a socket/ or pair of sockets does not exceed the
maximum rating of the secondary MCB fitted.

If the transformer stops functioning or does not switch on, it should be taken into safe area before
inspecting the control box. The transformer contains circuit breakers and fuses in the upper enclosure,
which may stop the unit functioning in the event of a fault.
If the transformer gets damaged during use it must be immediately disconnected from the supply and
removed to a safe area for inspection and test. Correct use of the equipment should help to ensure

To avoid risk of injury do not touch the coil within the lower enclosure immediately after use when it is
likely to be hot.
AFTER USE - INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
Maintenance may be carried out only outside the EX area
Isolate the Transformer unit from the mains supply and allow to cool before carrying out any
maintenance work.
The transformer should be cleaned when necessary using a damp cloth. If necessary use neutral soap.
No detergents or solvents are allowed. Do not allow dirt and/or dust to accumulate on the equipment.
Operator is responsible to comply with the all applicable regulations including:EN60079-14, EN60079-
17 and EN60079-19
Basic repairs can be carried out by a competent electrician in accordance with the detailed instructions
– available on request.
No user modifications are permitted and only original spares from SA Equip must be used. The use of
any other parts will invalidate any warranty and could compromise the safety and functionality of the
equipment.
