●Useawell-balancedone.Neverusethepropellerthathasbeen
scratchedordamagedevenifslightly.
●Openaholeexactlyinpropellerhub(boss)inadvanceasshownin
therightfigureusingdrillingtoolandpropellerwasher.
●Passthepropellerthroughtheshaftandtightenthesixbolts
insertingthepropellerwasherintheorderofdiagonal.※The
appropriatelengthoftheboltsmaybedifferentdependingonthe
thicknessofthepropellerhub(boss).Dependingonthepropeller
andspinnerbackplateyouuse,useM5x0.8boltswithlengththat
protrude15〜18mm.(Screwlengthofstandardaccessoryis55mm)
●Asthepropelleriscompressedslightly,tightenthe6boltseveryhour
ofoperation.

inthecowling.ThenturnthebartoinsertintotheM3.5internalthreadatthecenter
ofthethrottlelever.
●Fullyclosethethrottleandpullthechokebarandfixitwithacliporclampasshown
inthefigsothatitmaynotgobacktothepreviousposition.
●Graspthepropbyhandandturnitseveraltimesinthedirectionofnormaloperation
(CCW)untilthecarburetorgenerateshissing-likesound.Afterhearingthissoundfor
about5times,quicklyflipthepropapproximately10times.
●Removethechokebar.Thenpowerontheignitionsystemandflipthepropquicklyto
starttheengine.Iftheenginedoesnʼtstart,repeatthechokingprocedure.
4.Methodofchoke(Noneedwhenyouusestarter)
※Chokingisthemeansbywhichfuelisfedtotheenginewhenyoustartitbyhandflipping.Thusitisunnecessarywhenusingstarter.Starting
withaelectricstarterisrecommendedforsafety.
●Inadvance,makeathinholeinthecowlingtoinsertthechokebar/slowneedleadjustmentbar.
●Duringchoking,besuretoturnofftheignitionswitch.

5.Break-inMOSTIMPORTANT!!
●Beforestartingtheengine,injectasuitableamount(approx.20〜30cc)ofengineoilintothe
lubricationnippleonthecrankcaseusingasyringeorpumpwhileturningthepropellerby
hand.Afterthat,plugthisnipple.Asexcessisdischargedfromthebreathernipple,attacha
tubetothebreathernipple.
●Prop-recommendation:Mejzlik-26x12.
●Use15:1fuel:oilratioforbreak-in.
●NevermakethefuelmixtureleanduringBreak-in.Itcouldcauseseizureevenduringidlingor
lowspeedrunning.
●Beforestartingtheengine,openthemainneedleApprox.3turnsopen(CCW)fromfullyclosed.
●Starttheengine(usingastarterisrecommendedforsafety).
●Runforabout30secondsatlowspeedtowarmup.
●Openthethrottlegraduallyuptooverhalfopen.InthemeantimeturnthemainneedleCCW.
ContinuetoturnthemainneedleCCWuntiltheRPMdeclines,keepingthethrottleopened
overhalf.
●IfopeningmainneedledoesnʼtdropRPM,thenopentheslowneedletoo.
●Runinthisveryrichconditionfor1literoffuel.
●Now“initial”break-inisdone.

6.Adjustmentofcarburetorafterinitialbreak-in.
◇Needlereferenceposition(Setafterinitialbreak-in)
●Starttheengineafteradjustingtheneedletothefollowingreferencevalue.
●Mainneedle:Approx.2.5~3turnsCCWfromfullyclosed
●Slowneedle:Approx.4turnsCCWfromfullyclosed(Thenthrottleshouldbefullyclosed)
●Actually,thebestpositionoftheneedlesvarydependingontheprop,temperature,humidityandso
on.Pleaseadjustasnecessaryafterobservingtheengineperformanceduringflight.
◇Peakadjustment
●Afterstartingtheengine,warmupforapprox.30secondsatlowspeed.
●Achievethepeakatfullthrottle.
→TurnthemainneedleCWgraduallytothepositionwheretheRPMisgreatest(thepeak).ContinuingtoturntheneedleCWpastthepeak
couldleadtoseizuresoturnitslowlyandcarefully.IftheRPMsuddenlydecreasesafterpassingthepeak,instantlyturnthemainneedle
CCWtoagainincreasetheRPM.Otherwiseitcoulddamagetheengineseriously.
●OnceachievingpeakRPM,returnthethrottletolowspeed.Makeanoteofthepositionofmainneedleatthepeakatthattime.(Howmany
turnsyoudidCWbasedonthereferencevalue.)
◇SlowneedleAdjustment
●AfterachievingpeakRPM,nextisslowneedleadjustment.OpenthethrottlefromlowRPMtofullthrottlequickly.
●TurntheslowneedleCCWslightlyiftheenginehesitatesforamomentorstallsbeforetheenginereachesmaxRPMbecausethemixtureis
toolean.
●TurntheslowneedleCWslightlyiftheengineisslowtoreachpeakRPM(fullthrottleset)becausethemixtureistoorich.
●AdjusttheslowneedleasaboveuntiltheRPMfollowsthethrottlemovementsmoothly.Theimportantpointistoadjusttheslowneedle
AFTERthemainneedlehasbeenadjustedtoitspeak.
●Nowbreak-inatgroundlevelisdone.Adjusttappetsbythemethoddescribedlater.
◇Pre-flight/Flightadjustment
●Whentheslowneedleadjustmentisdone,checktheresponsebyrevvingupfromlowspeedtofullthrottlequicklyseveraltimes.
●OpenthethrottlefullyandturnthemainneedleCCWapprox.60〜90degreesfromthepeakposition.Thisistomakethefuelmixturericher
intheairwheretheRPMgethigherthanontheground.
●Afteralladjustmentsaremade,flyyouraircraftandfinetunetheengineaccordingtothesituation.Basicallytuningshouldbedonewiththe
mainneedle.Readjustmentoftheslowneedleisrarelyneededifthefirstadjustmentoftheslowneedlehasbeendonesuccessfully.

7.Tappetadjustment
Thevalveclearanceshouldbecheckedandadjustedafterbreak-inandeverytimeaftertwohourswhiletheengineiscold.Beforeadjusting
tappetgaps,tightenupthescrewsaroundcylindersetc.
2.Loosenthelocknutandadjust
thegapbyhexagonalwrench
untilyougetthecorrectgapfor
bothofintake&exhaust.
3.Oncethegapisset,tightenthe
locknutandattachtheplugand
covers.Thendothesame
adjustmentfortheothercylinder.
4.Turnthepropbyhandtocheckifthe
compressionisenough.Ifthegapisless
than0,thevalveisalwaysopened
slightlyandlosecompression.Then
adjustagain.
