HANWHA SPC-7000 NETWORK CONTROLLER
INTEGRATION
COMPLETEVIEW 20/20

INTRODUCTION
The Hanwha SPC-7000 Network Controller features a jog dial, keypad, and joystick in one com-
bined unit. Each component has functionality specific to CompleteView 20/20 which will be
detailed in the following sections.
Initial physical set up and Windows configuration should be completed per the manufacturer's
instructions, located here: https://www.hanwhasecurity.com/spc-7000.html.
In order to use the Hanwha SPC-7000 with the CompleteView 20/20 Desktop Client, the control
board must be run in SSM mode.
First, login on the central screen (the default password is "4321"). After logging in, navigate to
Recorder > SSM. Alternatively, press Shift then the Recorder/SSM key to enter SSMmode.

KEYPAD
The Hanwha SPC-7000 keypad can be used to quickly navigate between workspaces, cameras,
views, PTZ presets, and access other CompleteView 20/20 functions.
Hanwha SPC-7000 Keypad Functions
The diagram below provides an overview of the keypad mappings specific to CompleteView
20/20. Consult the table below for more detail.
Not that the Hanwha SPC-7000 keypad cannot recognize multiple keys pressed at the same time
(i.e. Shift + Menu/Mouse). For multi-key inputs, depress the keys in succession.
Example: Press shift, fully release shift, and then hit the Menu/Mouse button.
A Word About the Navigation Keys
Layout/Seq, Search, and Freeze/Alarm are designed to work with multiple opened dock win-
dows. The control board input only affects the active window. The Layout/Seq, Search, and

Freeze/Alarm navigation keys are designed to switch the active window.
Example: Live View is opened in one window and Alarm View is opened in another. If the cur-
rent active window is Alarm View but if utilizing PTZ in Live View is desired, first use the Lay-
out/Seq button to switch the active window to Live View.
Input Behavior
1. Menu/Mouse Hitting SHIFT then hitting this button toggles mouse mode
2. Layout/Seq Navigate to Live View. Start/stop view tour if already in Live
View.
3. Search
Navigates to Playback Review and Playback Search List/Thumb-
nails. Entering 1, 2, or 3 navigates to Playback Review, Playback
Search List, or Search Thumbnails, respectively. If no number is
entered, Playback Review will be displayed. Enter a number (HH-
mm) to jump to that given seek time in Playback.
4. Freeze/Alarm Navigate to Alarm View

Scrolls through the Maps in Live View. Enter a number and then
hit this button to select that specific Map. If a number is not
entered before this key is pressed, scroll mode is entered. Press
the up/down arrow keys to change the selected Map. To leave
scroll mode, press the Mon./Con. button again.
6. Tile/VM
Scrolls through Views in Live View. Enter a number and press this
button to select that specific View. If a number is not entered
before this key is pressed, scroll mode is entered. Press the up/-
down arrow keys to change the selected View. To leave scroll
mode, press the Tile/VM button again.
7. Cam
Scrolls through the cameras in Live View. Enter a number and
then press this button to go to that specific camera. If a number
is not entered before this key is pressed, scroll mode is entered.
Press the up/down arrow keys to change the selected Camera.
To leave scroll mode, press the Cam button again.
8. Shift Used in combination with other keys
9. Preset Enter a number and then hit this button to go to that preset
10. Up/Down Arrow Keys
In Alarm View, selects the next or previous event. In Live View,
selects the next or previous camera. Used when in scroll mode
for Views, Cameras, and Maps in Live View.
11. Left/Right Arrow Keys Used for Zoom, Focus, or Iris functionality in Live View, Alarm
View, and Playback.
12. T.Lock/L Left mouse click
13. Track/R Right mouse click
14. Iris/C/O Iris close/open. Hit the Iris button and then use the left and right
arrow keys to close/open the iris.
15. Focus/N/F Focus near/far. Press the Focus button then use the left and right
arrow keys to focus near/far.

16. AF Auto-focus.
17. Zoom Zoom in/out. Press the Zoom button then use the left and right
arrow keys to zoom out/in.

JOG DIAL
The Hanwha SPC-7000 jog dial may be used to jog and shuttle through recorded video.
Hanwha SPC-7000 Jog Dial Functions
The diagram below provides an overview of the functions of the jog dial specific to Com-
pleteView 20/20. Consult the table below for more detail.
Input Behavior
Back
In Playback List Search, selects the previous video clip in the
list. In Playback Thumbnail Search, selects the previous thumb-
nail. In Playback Review Video, seeks to the beginning of the
timeline.
Stop No action
Play/Pause Plays or pauses the current video clip in the Playback windows.
Forward
In Playback List Search, selects the next video clip in the list. In
Playback Thumbnail Search, selects the next thumbnail. In Play-
back Review Video, seeks to the end of the timeline.
Record ALARM VIEW: Exports the Playback video clip of the currently

selected Event.
PLAYBACK: In Playback Review Video, exports a 10-minute
video clip starting at the current seek time. In Playback List
Search, exports the currently selected video clip. In Playback
Thumbnail Search, Record will zoom out to the next set of time
divisible thumbnails within the selected thumbnail if possible. If
zoom out is not possible, Record will export the selected
thumbnail.
Shuttle Wheel (outer wheel)
Shuttle clockwise - Playback: Increase speed
Shuttle counterclockwise - Playback: reduce speed
Jog Dial (inner wheel)
Jog clockwise - Step forward in Playback paused state. If in
Thumbnail Search, jog clockwise will select the next thumbnail.
Jog counterclockwise - step backward in Playback paused state.
If in Thumbnail Search, jog counterclockwise will select the pre-
vious thumbnail.

JOYSTICK
The Hanwha SPC-7000 joystick is used to pan, tilt, and zoom the selected camera. It can also be
used as a mouse by pressing SHIFT and the Menu/Mouse button on the keypad.

In addition to using the joystick for PTZ functionality on the selected camera, the button is used
to take a snapshot in Live View, Alarm View, or Playback.

Joystick Button
LIVE VIEW: Takes a snapshot of the currently selected camera
tile.
PLAYBACK: In Playback Review Video and Playback List Search,
takes a snapshot of the current video playback. In Playback
Thumbnail Search, will zoom in to the next set of time divisible
thumbnails within the selected thumbnail if possible. If zooming
in is not possible, the button will take a snapshot of the selected
thumbnail.

ALARM VIEW: Takes a snapshot of the Live View tile of the cur-
rently selected Event.
Note: Snapshots are automatically saved to the Documents
folder of the current Windows user. (e.g. C:\Users\< user-
>\Documents\Salient Security Platform\CompleteView
2020\Desktop Client)

TROUBLESHOOTING
Note that the Hanwha SPC-7000 is not designed to work with multiple open instances of the
Desktop Client. In addition, the hardware must be plugged in before the Desktop Client is
launched.
If the Hanwha SPC-7000 is or becomes unresponsive, begin troubleshooting by restarting the
CompleteView 20/20 Desktop Client.
If the unit is still unresponsive after relaunching the Desktop Client, perform the following steps
in the order given:
1. Unplug the Hanwha SPC-7000 from the computer.
2. Restart the computer
3. Plug in the unit again
4. Wait until the Windows operating system detects the Hanwha SPC-7000's driver and
installs it
5. Launch the CompleteView 20/20 Desktop Client
If, after following those steps in order, the unit is still unresponsive, it may be necessary to dis-
able the PC's ability to boot from a USB drive or other removable device. Those settings will be
found in the PC's BIOS . Consult the PC manufacturer's documentation for more information.
